Extremely rarely, as far as I have seen. No cause to get upset. On my part, I took the reply of Dan O to be correct if you had in fact "renewed your visa" before the second report, which was the reason why I sought help in finding this information, if not in this topic, then perhaps in another topic where it might have been posted.

I stated that last September they offered a promo of doing this 90 day reporting for THB 100, thereby mentioning this would last until "the next visa renewal". So it's December now, and it's only my 2nd 90 days reporting.

I really can't think of a good reason how such a reputable company would go down this road over a silly amount of money while clearly doing an attempt on ruining their own good reputation.

Yes, paying an agent to do something you can complete yourself at home in less than five minutes seems not only a waste of money but rather odd. He asks if they are unreliable, any body unregulated and unregistered has a tendency to be.

Thai Visa Centre are one of the biggest players in this field and should be very wary not to come across as a shady, untrustworthy agent.

Correct. In the case of the OP, the visa agency set the "time period" of the promotion to expire on the date of the "next visa renewal".

Unless the OP renewed his visa before the second 90 day report, the promotion offered to him and other clients of this agency had not yet expired when he asked the agency to make the second report on his behalf.

    Excellent reply! 👍

Promotions are for a set time period so the price will naturally revert to the usual rate when the promo expires.  I don't know why you would think you should continue to get the promotional price when you're filing a 90-day report outside the promotional period.

You can always sign up for the special four-report deal for 1500 when you do your visa extension. That price won't change. They also have promos for retirement visas on occasion but if you're not renewing at that time you're out of luck. You'll have to pay the full price.

It's like buying a washing machine with 1 year guarantee, and when you contact them after 3 months they say: sorry, we changed our guarantee policy, we can't help you...

The discount in the OP says " (discount from 500 THB per time) until your next visa renewal."

The offer was for 3 or 4 90 days reports following the visa renewal, but apparently has been rescinded after only the first 90 day report.

Good that there are people who understand the issue, unlike "Dan O".

I wonder, does such a thing often happen here?

I am assuming you want to get a Non O visa based on being aged over age 50 (intended for retired people). Unlike a Non O visa based on having a Thai spouse, the Non O (retired) has financial requirements at all nearby embassies/consulates. An agent cannot help you avoid those requirements when you apply outside Thailand.

    Thanks.

But what's the reason why I only need to show €1000 per 30 days, so €3000 per 90 days on my bank account when applying for a NON-O retirement visa in my home country, while I have to show (like you mentioned)  800.000 Baht on my bank account at nearby embassies/consulates?

  7. Something else: If I'm correct, embassies and consulates nearby require 800.000 Baht on a bank account as requirement for getting a NON-O "retirement visa" valid for 90 days.

But in my home country (which I read on the website of the local Thai embassy) there is only a requirement of €1000 per 30 days of stay in Thailand for getting this NON-O "retirement visa" of 90 days, which is obviously considerably less than the 800.000 Baht or the monthly income of 65.000 Baht.

    How come?

    Or do I miss something?

    Savannakhet does not require appointment.

    Much appreciated!

Where can I find the requirements for getting a NON-O visa?

Is Savannakhet an "easy" place to get a NON-O Visa?

I actually would like to be (almost) 100 % sure that a NON-O will be granted, before starting a trip outside of Thailand...

And any suggestions for other "easy" consulates/embassies within reach to get this NON-O visa?

  9. I have quite a lengthy tourist visa history plus the officer mentioned that I had done a (1 day) border bounce which actually was the reason for taking me aside.

And the reason of arranging the NON-O visa myself is that I probably would save money + having a trip outside Thailand would also be nice.

I'm now on a Tourist Visa that will end in a few weeks.

So if I read your reply correctly: it's not possible to arrange the NON-O visa myself and let the agent arrange the 1 year extension of stay?

  10. I'm planning to do an agent assisted "retirement visa".

First I need a NON-O visa that I can get from them while staying in Thailand. Later on the 1 year extension of stay will be arranged.

But I wonder, could I also get this NON-O visa in Vientiane or Savannakhet?

Last time I arrived in Thailand with a Tourist Visa I was taken aside by an immigration officer who told me that next time I probably would have problems when arriving with a tourist visa again.

But would arriving with a NON-O Visa be problematic, or not?

90 day report can be done online from anywhere in Thailand.

Also from anywhere using mail option.

In the other part of your post you mention difficult immigration office for extension.

A TM30 is most often required to obtain an 30 day extension for visa exempt and tourist visa.

Can online reporting also be done in Chiang Mai?

If I remember correctly this might not be possible?

Both the extension and the contemplated border bounce will be fine. Be very careful with flying back into the Bangkok airports in the future, unless you have been out of the country for at least half a year.

Should I also be careful with flying into Bangkok airports if I do only 1 extension and not a border bounce?

Hereafter I plan to return with a Non-O visa.

  13. What are my options after receiving a 60 day Tourist Visa? Can I extend it once?

Or can I go to, for example Mae Sai and get a visa exempt of 30 days?

I also want to add that upon entering Thailand on Suvarnabhumi airport with this Tourist Visa I was taken aside by immigration and told me the reason why this was being done was because this year I had gotten a visa exempt after a (same day) border bounce which they found was not acceptable.

You will need to present your evisa document on arrival.

    Thank you,

    Subject: evisa question

Can an Evisa be used at a land border crossing ?

Well, that seems simple enough.  You can just buy an evisa and do a land border bounce?  Or should have I been more specific in my question ?  Such as using a fresh Evisa ?

    Good question...

Especially you could ask if a land border bounce is allowed.
