Sorry to reopen an old topic, but as I had the same problem I solved it myself in the following way:

    Dial *137 on your phone.

Wait the recorded voice to give you options in Thai > press 1

Wait the recorded voice to give you options in Thai > press 2

    Done!

I know it's an old topic but it still has useful info. I was getting a massive amount of Dtac spam sms for offers and promotions which became very annoying.

I did what poster above said and they immediately stopped 😀 to clarify, dial *137, when Thai finishes and complete silence hit 1, when next lot of Thai finishes and silence hit 2, then hang up (a third lot of Thai starts)

  2. So if a formal police complaint was all they were waiting for to make arrests why has it been 3 days since the formal complaint was made and no arrests?

It takes less than 5 minutes to review the cctv tape that went viral all round the world. It clearly showed security guard threw the first punch, used knuckle dusters and planted a run up kick to the head of an unconscious man...why the delay?

Note: people claiming brits were the aggressor by pushing guards is not assault in my book, who threw the first punch has always been the one who started the assualt

But those double and triple entry tourist visas were never called "multi-entry" visas by anyone in authority, so I really don't see how anyone would assume that this newly announced multi-entry DTV will be anything but a real multi-entry visa (unlimited entries during its validity period).

Well yeah, but that could be just unlimited entries up to it's 180 days entry stamp date (and during the optional one-time 180 day extension)

DTV site says it will be available later this month or early July...

The new DTV visa is expected to take effect in late June or early July 2024 as part of their short-term measures

It also suggests that you can use it to enter Thailand for up to 180 days each year for 5 years...

    Destination Thailand Visa - MFA

That dtv site is just a made up site by some random. Why do you think it's official?

I am just passing on a request/appeal I saw on the Pattaya Loyal Rangers Supporters fb page, full details on there.

But I am sure you are correct about the Red Cross.

So you don't know him but you state he's a true gentleman...bizarre request without proper info to enable proper donation (I'm A-)

Royal Thai Embassy in London has made an announcement regarding 60-days visa exempt from June 1, 2024:

60 days via air and border checkpoints:

Isn't that just the UK government website rather than the Thai Embassy?

    https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/thailand/entry-requirements

I imagine Embassies won't be able to announce it until it's gazetted.

I'm confused about the supposed addition of Laos and Cambodia to visa free entry into Thailand. For almost 20 years, nationals of both countries have been able to enter Thailand visa free, so the insinuation, based on the info graphic that these 2 countries are only now being afforded visa exempt entry into Thailand is highly misleading.

So far, Laotians have been permitted unlimited 30 day visa free entry, while Cambodians have been receiving 14 days and vice versa for Thais visiting those 2 countries.

What will change here? If they meant that they too will receive 60 days visa free, that would be a significant change BUT it doesn't change the fact that Laos and Cambodia are 2 nations who've been eligible for visa free entry into Thailand for many years and with no official limit on the number of entries either.

Currently Cambodia  and Laos have free entry under bilateral agreements (which includes unlimited entries). Both will change to 60 day visa exempts from 1 June which does raise the question about only two visa exempts allowed by land per calender year (maybe bilateral agreements stay in place as well?)

Visa on arrival is only applicable to the limited list of nationalities in the table above. These countries are not approved to receive a visa exempt entry.

Except the lists above have several countries in both lists, which makes no sense (Bulgaria, China, Cyprus, Fiji, India, Kazakhstan, etc.)

  9. They say the DTV costs 10,000 baht but people need to take into account the horrendous exchange rates each embassy uses.

A Tourist Visa is supposed to cost 1000 baht but Thai Embassy in Australia charges A$60 (non-imm O is 2000 baht but costs A$120). So a DTV at 10,000 baht means they'll charge A$600 which is really 14,500 baht at the actual echange rate
