  1. Hm for nearly one week nobody picked up what I have to offer. Not unexpected as few deserve privileged knowledge. Will no longer monitor the thread nor is available.
  2. No. From what I read, most are retirees, people interested towards retiring or ex retirees. But I guess the crowd here is way too old for me to participate in their convo, I stay a bit and see if any responses or questions requires a different perspective, not those nonsense one would find in hundreds of forums saying the same stuff.
  3. Thanks for the concern and research, since I have easily another 30-40 years to go, I probably save on the first few months and only go in April. This is my third April in Chiang Rai and from my experience, this month is the worst. The local government raised the ban for burning in may, so I think it does coincide with your chart that may is indeed the month for return.
  4. Hm it's a reference since it has many variables listed but the numbers are way off in many ways. Example would be water. A 20L bottle of water cost 15 baht in a rural village say 20km outside the city. The prices stated therein is nowhere near this amount. Considering most of Thailand is rural, even the city center of say korat, the figures are best taken with a lot of buffer that has been inclusively considered. A good starting point for the normal guy googling. But not applicable once more factors are considered.
  5. Yes currently it's quite bad. If one stays indoors with a Xiaomi purifier, it's quite ok, with a few hours of exposure when travelling or errand running. This year much worst than the last. I think I will head to the south next year when the burning season comes again. Just to stay for a month. I never stayed in the south before so it will be challenging for me.
  6. My very first post. Glad I found this place (actually from a ev vs ice topic). My costs are around 140-150 USD per month. Been at this figure I stay in Chiang Rai. For about 2+ years now. It's an all in cost (utilities, gas for my bike, food, comfort items, short trips less than 200km) minus insurance since I don't believe in the product. I don't count long trips since I go two-up for that and figures escalated depending on where I am going and where my partner wants to stay. Stayed in Chiang Mai before. The costs are much higher, especially if you want to own your own estate. (About 5-7 times more, Rai for Rai). It's roughly 200 USD for other costs all in. Building a house there costs more too, even 100km outside of the square. Stayed in bkk before, costs a lot lot more unless you own your own place and transport. Probably in the range of 300 USD. It's been nearly a decade since I stayed there so figures might be off. Stuff are more expensive now as well.
