  1. Mr. Jiang is fast using up his social credits; he won't do too many more 'shoots' in foreign countries after returning to China.
  2. That should help towards ironing out the $45 Billion trade deficit with the US, well done, President Trump.
  3. Living in Samui, the White Lotus effect may make some minor changes, but generally (and one should never generalise), Americans are few and far between on this island as tourists. The main body of tourists, IMO, are Europeans, Taiwanese, Japanese, and Singaporeans. The US has the whole Caribbean, Mexico, and Europe, and it has destinations nearer than Thailand.
  4. The requirements for a Non-Immigrant O extension (retirement visa) vary from one area to another. I have applied in three different places, and the basic requirements are the same (800k, bank letter, etc.), but a medical certificate is not always required by some areas. Health insurance certificates were demanded from one area and a 12-month bank statement from another, but not the other two, where a three-month statement was required. So, pot luck really.
  5. There is a general perception about security in Thailand in China, at least sadly. Recently, I had a meeting with my China agent in Samui, 90% business, 10% holiday; he brought his own security guard with him! He refused to eat anywhere but 5* restaurants because of 'hygiene' concerns and refused to leave his hotel in the evening. The only time he left without me as an escort was to buy a present for his wife mid-afternoon, and he and the guard were ripped off royally by an official taxi (he refused to use Grab, as it was 'unsafe'. I asked why he was so nervous about Thailand and he said there were many reports in the Chinese press about scams and personal safety in Thailand. I, for my part, have never been taken by a scam or suffered violence in Thailand, but such assurances fell on deaf ears—such a shame.
  6. If I were the police, I would be checking the passport. Motasem Al Manaseer, is hardly a Nigerian name, even for a Hausa, if that is what he claims to be!
  7. You, as a Dems sycophant, can not face the fact that President Trump is doing what he promised, something that is anathema with the Dems. President Trump is a breath of fresh air: the US is dumping the corrupt WHO, USAID, sanctuary cities, parts of the corrupt UN and challenging the narco-states and open border policy of the WEF 'Young Leader". He will win, quick time. You seem to be under some illusion that President Trump has started or is starting wars. Are you out of your Democratic mind? Or maybe you only believe what the MSM feeds you (probably intravenously).
  8. You believe the Bolshevik Broadcasting Company (BBC)?
  9. I think there is a time-out on these events. Better the devil you know.... springs to mind. Assad was a bad actor, but ISIS and Al Qu'ida sponsored the coup. From a security point of view, Assad was under control, at least by the Russians. The Israelis have been taking out armament assets in Syria for that reason. If Syria falls to ISIS/Al Qu'ida, then the whole of the Middle East will be destabilised. Be careful what you wish for!!!! The Taliban promised it had reformed after Biden's withdrawal fiasco but have reverted to their original fundamentalist behaviour.
  10. This is no surprise. I witnessed the large number of African 'ladies' in Sukhumvit Road near to Ashok BTS. Quite amazing and aggressive too.
  11. Agh! The land of smiles. Any bets on the nationalities of victim and perp?
  12. I also questioned the 20k / month rent, unheard of on Samui.
  13. 'Despite its provocative name, the shop's popularity is attributed to its owner's extensive experience and skill in men's hairstyling.' Hahahah yeah, right!! Good luck to her; who said the Thais are not entrepreneurial?
