yes they do charge these amounts and there are even shows on ubc tv showing off to this effect. one even had tara reid trying to enter the afore mentioned club only to be told where to go. eventually she was allowed in due to her friend being the dj and much apologies to the owners.

these people travel by their yachts or planes and want and also pay for clubs which only allow the exclusive of the exclusive clients of the world.

50k is for the most exclusive but the norm for these types of clubs is 5-10k to have a table for 4 people and drinks are extra.

search the internet, check it out yourself about the most exclusive clubs in the world. by searching you will be surprised to see that most are in the south of france and islands off italy

it looks like they are thinking of upping the interest rate to be allowed on credit card repayments from a ceiling of 18% to 20%..

it is the norm in every exclusive club in the south of france to charge in this way and also in rimini and sicily in italy.

the most exclusive club does charge 50k

then again how old are you. i mean i know this kinda of stuff because i am young and european and love the nightlife.

and in bkk today i can think over 100 places where you can easily pay 10k for dinner and drinks and many are not even at hotels. i have done it myself many times in central bkk and the outskirts.

live in the year 2006 please not 1906. nightlife and entertainment in bkk has changed , its not all noodle stands with cheap booze.

the figure on the number of cars is actually over 2000 which includes the freebies. i am showing the amount of paying customers of this program which is according to our new tourism minister at 1700 .

well its because he is frustrated in his life, unhappy, bored, lonely even though he has a wife or a gf and hates himself for having little financial means at a ripe old age of life.

i can only try to help with vientienne

once accross the border and with your one page laos visa stamp. you will have a choice of tuk tuks or small open vans or even cars.

the price starts at around 100 baht to go to vientienne

then ask for tai pan hotel not because u wanna stay there but it is right next to the main road along the river front where you can walk along and get some cheap rooms in the many guest houses.

prices range from 250 baht upwards, u can even get it lower if you wanna stay in a dorm.

currency in vientiene is kip but every shop bar cafe takes thai baht.

beware of all tuk tuks selling you anything in vientienne, its a scam, they work for the laos police and if its your unlucky night you will have a knock on your door.

nightlife closes everywhere at midnight

it is also illegal to have a girlfriend in laos if you are a foreigner so if you must meet that special asian lady make sure its short and sweet.

well the article today was asking that the government to look into these programs and was written by a journalist. not by the people who matter(those in power now

the same paper and that of the nation carried a very positive outlook for this program written by the man who matters 2 weeks ago.

and if it was doomed then they would have not said it was worthwhile to carry on and placed their good name against the program

on the subject that you can keep on doing these visas and border runs and it is therefore cheaper, you must be dreaming or something, it will only get harder

i mean people pay 2 million baht just to reserve a table of 4 at an exclusive club in st tropez for the night.

even in bkk today many people are paying 10k or 20k baht for a dinner or an evening out

staying at the many 5 star hotels and spas will set you back 8-10k a night just for the room.

lets not forget the new slogan of our new government

quality not quantity

this means mostly those tourists with alot of cash

sorry guys they dont want that foreigner walking around with his shorts and t-shirt carrying a tesco shopping bag looking rather lost.

i say goodluck to the new government and wish it bring in more programs like this so it offers more foreigners a more peacefull stay in thailand.

i had a friend obtain a double entry tourist visa at kl last week

it is a good place to try to obtain a double entry tourist visa

i mean it is better to go kl and try for a double than go to laos

i am replying to the thread about the tv which is tourist visa and i am sure any other types of visa's are now a lot harder to obtain.

where as the tv is a very simple in kl

i might be new to thaivisa but i am not new to thailand and i love any program which allows foreigners to live their dream in thailand.

yes i went there in august to get a tv.

make sure you arrive at the thai embassy b4 11 am and then they give you one sheet to fill out . then they ask you to return the next day. the collection times are 11.30-12.30. where by your passports are waiting for you at the entrance. nice and easy

400 million baht is the cash flow of the elite card currently

the 550 million baht is money spent on advertising in the first couple of years. even if you are somehat slow or old there is no way that any of you can say that they have spent more than 1.7 billion baht on promoting the card in 3 years

the income of 1.7 billion baht far outways the expenditure

and i am sure the new tourism minister is not a complete fool when he chooses to say the elite card is a good program.

as for the funds there are paid to the elite card company which is owned by the tourism authority of thailand.thats right owned by the new government and the new tot boss. so all funds go to these people not to someone is no longer the prime minister.

as for the cut and paste of the article from todays bkk post, it seems like a crass attempt for some newbie spotty journalist trying to make waves, whereas the reality is the the new government like it, it makes easy money and it helps bring the quality wealthy tourists to thailand

the last 2 articles on the elite card in the thai press are that the new tourism minister thinks its a very good scheme along with the longstay program.

added to that the boss of the elite card stated that it has a cashflow of 400 million baht and with 1700 members thats 1.7 billion baht a pretty good earner for any government.

and when you consider that most of the members are mad golf addicts like the japanese and koreans who think nothing of paying 2 million baht a year for memberships in their own country and love all the limo services and fast track immigration treating them like royalty then thailand has everything to gain from this card.
