Such a greedy government, creating all types of new draconian tax laws with the sole purpose of generating enough revenue to fulfil election promises that will harm the country more than help it.
Bring back prayuth.

Likely... NOTHING! 🙂
A massive stimulation in their local economys. I guarantee you foreigners pay more on average than a thai would. 94 percent of them pay no tax at all.
You dont need to sit online and lick the boot of this government, they aren't going to give you preferntial treatment mate.

TheThaiger has now confirmed the same thing BangkokPost did, taxing worldwide income (not just remittance) is the objective of the Director General of the Revenue Department. Time to seriously think about the future, and I am sure this news will blowup even more as the day goes on.
Yes, they got their orders from the OECD. They pull the strings now.

Maybe some confusion here as the Nation has a totally different take on it, unless they are completely separate issues which I hope not.
The do not have a different take on it at all, it is all in the same bill.

This will never work.
Thais will drive their bikes to the 711 across the street rather than walk there.

A HIV positive man had dangerous unprotected sex with two other men he had just met and contracted another disease?
Nice to see there are some cultural similarities between the east and the west still.

No reason given.
I have used WISE once to send money to Thailand but was unaware they provide banking.
Did you ever buy crypto or deposit money from a crypto exchange to your bank?

The HHS letter you linked to above makes absolutely no mention of the coronavirus outbreak or anything specific regarding any causal role of WIV in it. The rest is just unfounded speculation on your part, as usual.
There remain divided views among both federal agencies and the scientific community on the origins of the pandemic, with the scientific community especially leaning more in the direction of a natural cause.
The HHS action re WIV doesn't change that, especially given that a good part of the rationale for the HHS's action was WIV's refusal to cooperate in the inquiry and provide requested documentation.
Newly declassified report shows U.S. intelligence community remains divided over likely origin of Covid
June 24, 2023
"A long-anticipated government report on the origins of Covid-19 offered new details on the U.S. intelligence community’s findings but did not state definitively whether the source of the coronavirus was exposure to an infected animal or an event at a laboratory.
...
“All agencies continue to assess that both a natural and laboratory-associated origin remain plausible hypotheses to explain the first human infection,” the Office of the Director of National Intelligence said Friday in a 10-page declassified report.
...
While the National Intelligence Council and four unnamed agencies assessed that natural exposure to an infected animal was the most likely scenario for the first human infection, the Department of Energy and FBI’s assessment was that a laboratory-associated incident was more likely the cause."
It's time for your 6th booster shot, John.

Low birth rate vs aging society is not unusual in other developed countries and one of the quick solutions has been to liberalize immigration for citizenship, especially for young families. But in a nation where zenophobia and statelessness is a defense against national unity,
How well has that gone for Europe?

What's up with you losers advocating for the murder of others.
The United states can't just eliminate whoever it wants.
If you feel so strongly about Ukraine winning the war and what more the west should be giving to them, go pick up a rifle and book a one way ticket there.

What happened to, "We want wealthy high quality tourists", now they are pandering to package tours. Seems a light has gone on.....they aren't coming.
Yep. Pandering to package tours and to a demographic that doesn't actually put money into Thai owned businesses, only their own
I don't understand the Thai governments fetish for the Chinese, but as many are of Thai Chinese descent, it does somewhat make sense.
The rest of Thailand doesn't share their sentiments and fondness for the Chinese though.

1m thb for a 20 year hassle free visa equals 50k thb per year i.e. $1.4k per...year! Not even mentioning priority check-in, priority security and the same immigration queue pilots and flight-crew using.
If $1.4k per year is "expensive" and "money in the water" I just can't help you. It's an incredible value proposition, IMHO.
Finally, who cares if applications go to zero after the price increase? (Which, of course, it won't).
Being a LTD they use IFRS accounting and thus the 35k applications paid and accepted the last 3 years, will contribute to revenue and profits for years to come. The cash is already in their coffers and thus can earn money "again", similar to an insurance company.
Enough of clueless Euro-poors today. I'm out!
This dude bought the elite visa when it was cheap and now spends all day defending the price increases and calling people europoors.

Thailand is cost-effective for this American, but things are rapidly changing. Thailand wants to gouge foreigners for every last baht they can get. It won’t end once they bankrupt us.
You are not forced to live here, and you are not Thai.
There are nearly 200 countries in the world, why stay in one and complain about how much you don't like it there.
You're entitled to nothing, and Thailand owes you nothing.

in your opinion, whats so good about living in Thailand?
for me i struggle to find the positives. lets take a deep dive into the facts for a minute, shall we?
Thailand doesnt have democracy.
This means there is no right to freedom of expression and human rights are not important.
bureaucracy reigns supreme. it affects almost every aspect of daily life here.
90 day reporting. treated like a common criminal the minute we get off the plane.
healthcare only good if you have money. if you are poor forget it.
its either hot or wet most of the year.
pollution is a serious issue and will kill you eventually.
alcohol prices rising fast. soon it will be comparable to the UK/US.
institutional racism.
cant own land. etc etc etc
off the top of my head i can only think of two things that are good about Thailand, they are;
The food.
The women.
if Thailand didnt have those above it would be hell on earth.
how about you lot? what do you find so good about living in Thailand?
You are easily the worst poster on this website. Go home, Bob.
