If there was no will, the laws of inheritance will apply which are very clear, you may wish to review them.

    Succession under Thai Inheritance Laws
The chapter 'statutory right of inheritance' contains the laws of descent and distribution of the estate when there is no last will and testament made by the decedent. Pursuant to section 1629 of the civil code there are 6 classes of statutory heirs in Thailand and they are entitled to inherit in the following chronological order:

    descendants
    parents
brothers and sisters of full blood
brothers and sisters of half blood
    grandparents
    uncles and aunts
The surviving spouse of the deceased is a statutory heir in accordance with a special provision in the civil code, section 1635.

As far as a lawyer is concerned, you should look at the different embassy web sites since they usually contain list of lawyers around the country that are recommended by the embassies, it should help taking some of the guess work out of it.

You need to contact a lawyer. They will make a search at the land department, transportation department, etc. If there is a Last Will, it helps. If not, it is according to the law. A person might have to go to court to be appointed executor. I had a very good service with ThaiLawOnline

    Thank you

  3. Hi all

My daughters mum my ex wife died.

We live in in uk my ex wife lived her last years in Thailand.

Sadly ex died at 44 and has no will.

The family are trying to avoid the laws around children getting 50% of the estate.

They state there is no will and that we believe it’s going to be split between her parents and siblings.

The family are generally nice but very different when it come to finances.

please suggest a good local solicitor that can act for us to make my daughters rightful claim.

  4. My ex-wife and daughters mum has passed away in Thailand she lived in buriram

My daughter is 21 so has asked me to help her out.

How do we contact local authorities to discuss the will my ex wife left as she has left some land and property to my daughter

The family are twitchy and desperate to start spending

  5. with the Boom of Zoom I wonder if I may find a Thai teacher to offer zoom Thai language lessons.

I have always wanted to learn Thai but do not get a chance to spend lots of time with thai speakers.

my daughter and myself live in Uk and have a small understanding of the words required to get along.

looking to learn some structured intro level Thai on Zoom

  6. To provide an update

Thanks for the replies to this topic prior to our arrival here

Ex wife very sick but we have done what we achieved to do my ex-wife gets to see our daughter and my daughter gets to see her mum.

My daughter has been able to feel a little more closure regards her unusual relations with her mum.

what has been surprising is my ex-wife’s burning desire to extort money from our daughter now that she can’t do it to me.

My ex left the uk about four years after living there for 16 years and she left financially very stable and now she seams to have various cars, land, houses and other debts and assets here in Thailand all of which are in a mess and now actual money.

The wheels of cultural dishonesty continue to turn.

Have you been checked for H. Pylori infection in stomach ?

Does the pain only occur as digested food / gas passes across  ?

Adhesions (scar tissue) can develop post surgery that might be involved in what you describe. Trying to remove them can easily result in more of the same.

sounds like you need to talk with an internal medicine dr before just chasing the pain.

I have had lots of full blood and full still sampling and testing in the Uk

    Yes I agree with that

They can show whatever price the app calculates but I'd be shocked if there's some random Grab driver in Prakhon Chai who would accept and for that price.

    Seams unlikely

    the fuel could cost 500b

And did these show retained metal fragments? If so I don't see what a repeat MRI can achieve. If not then I don't see why a repeat MRI would.

As mentioned an MRI cannot say if specific symptoms are linked to an MRI finding. That needs to be determined by a physician taking a host of factors into account...and perhaps excluding other causes.

You would probably do better to take existing MRI to an appropriate specialist. As I doubt you can get what you are looking for by having another MRI.

    What exactly are your symptoms?

Sorry for the delay. I get a chronic pain in my left abdominal area and across the to if abdomen just under ribs into right side.

    Sore and burning feeling.

Met pain doctor in Uk who has refered me to a 3 week in live in pain management course in London or Bath

i guess I was hoping for a diagnostic reason

HE is correct... But the other option is a private company that only does MRI... This would be a better choice since you will not need to pay hospital and doctor fees to get the MRI appointment as well as the fees and waiting time for the MRI itself. The cost is about the same as the cost for an MRI at a government hospital. I have had many this way in the past years.

Is there a recommended hospital for this ?

Non Charoen is in Ban Kruat district, further south of Prakhonchai.  There are a few Thai style resorts around there, and a few more in Ban Kruat town, but the best hotels in that area are in Prakhonchai, with the de l'amour (the THB 1,504 a night one on the map below) being arguably the best, (and most expensive).

Good luck, I hope all goes well for you and your daughter.

    Thank you

  13. I need an abdominal MRI and report in english.

I had some surgery in Uk a few years back and the nhs are proving very reluctant to say if some retained metal fragments that showed up on my last scan are causing me some pain issues.

I also have some concerns of other damage that may have been caused or that I have further abdominal complication.

I am in Thailand in October with my daughter so hope to get some help at the same time with this

  14. My ex wife returned to live in Thailand. Buriram - Prakon Chai, Non Jaren about two years ago and has terminal cancer.

I have only seen my ex once in 9 years when she came to a Uk hospital last year.

Hope to plan this well as it will be a difficult emotional trip for my daughter.

Sadly my ex has terminal cancer and time is tight for her.

My daughter who is 21 now wants to come see her essentially for the last time.

    Need help with info on

Taxi firms and car hire in Buriram

What flights to Buriram are good

Wondering where is ok to stay in the area we used to stay in Buriam generally but wonder if there’s anything closer to the village.

Village is about 2 hours from Buriram.

The village itself never used to have any comfy hotels.

    Help please.

    Thanks in advance
