Was the extra 500 baht because it was a weekend ?
Or are they randomly trying their luck ?
We played there last month on a weekday, it was 1350 all-in or 900 walking using a PSC green fee voucher.
Or is some new initiative to get 500 baht from the few farang who still play ?
It was a farang surcharge as none of the 3 Thai's playing were asked to pay 500 Baht.
My friends said we could split the 500 Baht between the 4 of us and i said no way, the golf course gets nothing extra...... and the golf course got nothing extra except 4 people who will never play there again

What did you pay as a gf - or was it an all in deal price with cf and cart?
Our group were told that tomorrow on top of the discounted gf vouchers (550 baht from PSC/Birdie)) there would be an extra 200 baht charge as it is a holiday.
total was 1,400 each all in. The dragon lady didn't know what PSC was when I showed her my member card.
charging 200 Baht extra because its a holiday is crazy. The parking lot was less than half full today.

is this because you took a non playing friend with you? often there is a rip off 500 baht charge for that
No, it was three Thai men and myself all playing golf.
She specifically said it was because I was a farang (I understand a lot of Thai language but never speak it so I listened to her tell my playing partners)

Went and played Eastern Star today (26 July) with three Thai friends. After 9 holes some dragon lady came out and said I had to pay an extra 500 Baht because I was farang.
I told her to go do something physically impossible to herself.
The manager later apologized and said he should have informed us before we started the round.
No I did not pay the 500 Baht

Ok so I went to get a 1-year Non-O multiple entry married to a Thai visa from Yangon at the beginning of the month.
Arrived on 2 March intending to go to the embassy on the 3rd but it turned out to be a holiday (peasants holiday) so Embassy closed (no problem because I was in no hurry).
Went to the embassy on the 4th around 9 am and submitted paperwork which included:
- application formed which specified multiple entries
- Copy of info page and latest entry to Myanmar
- Copy of marriage certificate
- Copy of bankbook showing >400,000 Baht in Bank
- Copy of wife's ID card
- Copy of wife's name change
- Copy of wife's Tabien Baan
The only page that was signed was the application.
They asked me to come back in the afternoon and pay if everything was ok.
Don't know if the documents submitted were sufficient or extra because they didn't ask any questions.
came back around 2 pm and they said everything was ok BUT they would only give me a single entry 90 day non-O and they don't give out multiple entry anymore.
Paid my $80
Came back the next day and picked it up.
All in all it was an easy experience except its only single entry 90 days
Yangon (and then Bagan) were great and uncrowded.

Am tired of going to Savanakhet for a visa and now looking to try Myanmar. Is it possible to get a non-o (married to a Thai) multi entry visa from the Embassy in Myanmar? Are there any special requirements? Anybody have any experience?
Thanks

I live in a house owned by my company. In the Tabien Baan my wife is listed as the house master and she signs the TM30. Whoever is listed as the house master signs the TM30.
We have applied for the online reporting but........still waiting.

Thank you Ubonjoe...again...as always

With all the complaints about the IO problems with a marriage visa extension wouldn't it be simpler to get a multi entry Non-O marriage visa from Savannakhet? that way you can go for a weekend holiday every 90 days and not have to put up with the IO arrogance..
One question about the non-O multi entry marriage visa....can you get a work permit with it? I may consider going that route.

I am on a retirement extension and want to change to Marriage visa as I am bored out of my mind and want to work for a small company (already have the offer etc.) but don't want to go the non-imm B route. I can't renew/change my extension since I don't have the funds in my account for the seasoning requirement as I was out of the country (emergency family stuff) when it had to be deposited.
I looked on the embassy page for Hong Kong but there was no mention if they issue Non-O marriage visas there. I know they do in Savannakhet but I really can't stand the thought of 2 days in Sav. again (seems like 2 weeks).
Does anybody know if HK issues Non-O marriage?
Thankss

Wharney Guang Dong in Wanchai is where I have been staying for the past 7 years whenever I go to Hong Kong. I have walked to the Thai Embassy from there when the weather was good. Otherwise Admiralty is one MTR station from Wanchai. also good bars/music at night.

Hi All: going to do my first retirement visa exxtension.
Have the 800 K seasoned long enough in the bank.
Does anybody have any information on the latest requirements for documents that they will want to see?
Thanks for the input.

Great news. Thank you very much. I new about the "must do it with 15 days remaining thing" but wasn't sure how that would affect my length of stay.
-
So I extended my 60 day tourist visa to 90 days and it ends on 2 Dec. Want to change it to Non-O (retirement) at Chaeng Wattana. Assuming it gets changed do I get to stay longer (i.e. an additional 30 days or something).
My money (800,000 Baht) wont have been seasoned long enough (was deposited on 17 October) so it doesn't even meet the 60 day requirement. Do I have to leave and come back again for the seasonoing period?
Also, for the Non-O (retirement) do they still require a police check? I have lived in Thailand (non-B with extensions) for 18 years with a 3 year stint in HK.
Thanks for any input.
Cheers.
Cando.

No problem. Airport express is 22 minutes to central and then only 15 minutes to Fairmont house.
Came into HK last night, 10 min immigration line. Was at the consulate at 1000 this morning. I was the only one there. 5 min later was out and walking back to my hotel. Will pick up my visa on Monday.
Very easy and efficient.

Played Pleasant Valley today..
Management is crazy. Thailand is now open so gouge the foreigners.
I had to pay 950 Baht more than my Thai friends even though I have lived here more than 20 years (we split the white skin tax between me and my friends). The course was maybe 20% full but screw the foreigner any way you can (wonder why it was empty).
Had food after the round.
4 chicken wings 150 Baht.
Plate of Pad Thai 350 Baht.
This course has just lost 5 customers for life.
