I know a thai company in Phimai that makes these machines:
different models:
1) depends of the power of the tractor:
he makes hillers for kubota tractors and hillers for big ford tractors.
He also makes hillers that add at the same time fertilizer into the hill where the cassava will be planted and he makes simple hillers without the fertiliser tanks...
sned me a pm what you need and I will ask the price.
The owner is family of my wife

Check with your local feed and produce outlets, one of them in each locality usually carries or has access to ducklings etc.
We have 100 Pekins arriving on the 7th ,they come from a Bangkok hatchery through one of our local feed merchants.Price is 40 baht each.
40 bath each
seems a good price
how old are they?
do you have a name or telephone number from the Bangkok hatchery? perhaps a number on the transport boxes ????
thanks for the help

thank you very much for this information.
I will ask the misses to give this man a call to check if he knows where to find white swans.
thanks

Perhaps is there now somebody that knows where I can find swans in Thailand?

I have a mazda BT0
I had 4 years full warranty.
It is clearly written in the mazda maintenance book that you have to have regular service with an official mazda dealer in order to keep the warranty.
seems logic to me: you go to a cheap garage for oil change.
he does something wrong and you decide to go back to mazda and claim your warranty///??? come on....

On 1 January 2010, the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (CAFTA) went into effect.
Under the agreement, trade between China and six ASEAN countries including Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Singapore has become duty-free for more than 7,000 products.
Anybody knows where I can find the list of these 7000 products
where to find the list of these 7000 products????

Hi importford, since no one with the answer to your question has jumped in, I'll give you my thoughts. The only Hom Mali rice that I know of at that price is organically grown and has to be registered with the local Co-op before the planting season. Calling it Red Hom Mali seems to suggest removing the husk of the rice but leaving on the skin which is red. The rice, I suspect, is no different from ordinary Hom Mali, 4 months and approx 600 Kg/ rai.
Keep in mind however, I'm an electrical engineer/ diesel mechanic/ plumber/ womanizer and the only thing I have in common with farming is that I drink Lao Cow. Just observing the family here in Surin.
finner
Not totally true. I grew Red Hom Mali rice for the first time last year on 6 Rai of fairly sandy soil. Did get a similar yield as for standard Hom Mali and sold half straight away at the local 'rice depot' for 20 Baht per kilo. Hom Mali was going for about 15 Baht per kilo at the time. Still got the rest and sitting on it waiting for hopefully a higher price next month.
exnavy: How many kg/ rai did you harvest?
-
thanks finner,
I will check it out with the Co-op.
I also keep on getting different figures :
one farmer told me he can harvest 600/700 kg per rai (Hom Mali)
an other one told me he harvests 1270 kg per rai.
Is it possible that one farmer can harvest that many kg per rai, even with optimal conditions (water, fertilizer,...)???
Or is this simply one of those farmers that doesn't know the numbers or somebody that simply likes to boost???
-
Are there some members of the forum that planted "red hom mali" rice??
prices for this rice went up from 18 to already 20 Thai Bath/kg....
In average, how many kg per rai can one harvest with this red hom mali rice??
Can one harvest this red hom mali rice in 90 days or 120 days??

Are there members of the forum that have experience in farming Roselle ( Hibiscus Sabdariffa L.) in Thailand?
I did some internet research and it seems that Thailand is one of the biggest producers and exporters.
I have by accident some wild plants on my property and started some research.
this is really an incredible and versatile plant.
Do some members of the forum cultivate it????

hi importford
Yeah sure you can use EM on rice paddy. It is used as an organic weed management tool as the micro-organisms break seed dormancy and promote weed growth this growth is then ploughed in. I'll flick through my literature and post dilution rates and timings of application and post when I get a chance. I'm in the process of extending some EM at the moment and I know I saw the info in one of my printouts when I was checking recipes. Three crops a year on poor soil ? Probably not, personally I'd rotate using a short DTF leguminous crop as a green manure and maybe corn at least in the early days until you have built up soil fertility. as to fertiliser... well if you're wanting to use EM I guess you're looking at organic although maybe you just want to avoid the use of herbicides. Thats gonna take time but addition of plenty of organic matter, compost,bio-char and the use of green manures will all help.
cheers for now J
Thanks Ja,
I talked today with an older farmer next to us.
He told me that if I mix the EM with the flooding water,
I will have later less termites and snails because the micro organism will try to attack the termites, ants and snails.
is this possible or is it just some wild local rumor???

We own a big fish pond: 100 meter x 50 meter
We bought next to this fish pond 6 rai.
The six rai has always been used for the cultivation of Tapioca.
We want to start planting rice on this land because we have all the water available now.
The ground seems rather poor after all these years.
1) Can I mix EM in the water when I flood the rice paddies??? before we trill the land.
2) Can I try to get three harvest of rice (100 day rice) because we have all the water available for irrigation and no risks of flooding.
3) What kind of fertilizer and how many do I have to use per rai for three harvest of rice in one year??

it's indeed the PDA that want war, NOT Thaksin.
The PDA will claim that this war was started because of Thaksin.
Thai Nationalistic feeling will rise and red and yellow will join together against Cambodia .
I don't think Red will join Yellow against Cambodia. PTP is against renouncing the MOU. Still there are many Reds, who still believe The Times of London ganged up with the Dems and twisted Thaksins interview.
A proven way to solve internal fighting in a country, (the biggest problem for Thailand at the moment)....:
look for an external enemy and start a war with them (Cambodia just offered this...).
This way the divided country will join hands against the foreign enemy...
they will forget their internal disagreements and fighting and come together against the enemy.
come on Abhisit,
listen to your military and go for it...
-
War between the two countries is now what Thaksin wants most.
WHO exactly has ben escalating the whole Cambodia thing ever since the Phra Viharn fiasco? If anyone wants war it's PAD and the loons close in the Dem party close to PAD. ( Even Abhisit I recon has the common sense not to go down that path, I'll credit him that much. )

why doesn't Thailand simply invade Cambodia?
Or sent the commandos in (as Thaksin was prepared to do in the past)??
Seems to me they have reason enough...
harbouring a fugitive,...
Lovely idea. And so very worthy a cause. Who needs tourist income this high season anyway, and then really Thaksin is just so much more important than the economy, education and healthcare. Bravo.
They didn't mind the lack of tourist income when they blocked the Thai airport....
even more this war with Cambodia could be a great excuse for the military to ask AGAIN for more money for the military...
( by the way, it seems to me that history has proven that about everything in Thailand is more important than education, healthcare,....)

I am looking for a supplier of used steel.
I was told that suppliers from Bangkok- Rayong- Chonburi had a bigger offer and were cheaper.
I live in the Nakorn Ratchasima province.
I tried with the Thai yellow pages, but no luck.
Does anybody know where I can find a supplier for used or second hand steel??
-
No idea, but a lot cheaper then what you normaly would have to pay in duties. It would also depend on the value of your goods.
Thanks for the info guys's
this helps me a lot,
i didn't know anything about negotiating and of course the Thai Embassy told me nothing about this also...
any idea how many % is the normal import duty?
How many % you'll think they charge by negotiating??
-
thanks guys,
will call the Thai transport company right now and ask them to do all the negotiating with the Custom department.
any idea about the necessary "FEE" at the Custom department.
i know it is difficult to give the right amount, but just any rough idea about what amount we are talking about???
-
You will get a permission to stay in Thailand for 1 year, as you claim to have a OA visa. The transport company is being confused with a regular non-O visa, wich would give 90 dys upon entry.
Either way, I don't think you qualify for tax free import of your household goods. Google for the Thai customs, they have an informative webiste in English.
Thanks Mario,
But when I checked everything with my local Thai embassy they told me that I could import my personal goods only once if I had this 12 month validity, multi-entry, non-immigrant "OA" visa.
According to you the Thai Embassy informed me wrong and the Thai Custom Service will charge me import duties????
What can I do?
Can I ask for a letter from the Thai Embassy?
Will the Custom department accept this?
I have to act quickly because the container is already on it's way :D

Does anybody know where in Thailand I can find the seeds from the "pond bald cypress" trees.
our family owns some swamp land and we want to plant these cypress trees on the land.
They will survive in flooded land,
