  1. My understanding is that tourist visas only entitles you to 2 year DLs and not the 5 year DLs. Have you ever managed a 5 year DL on tourist visa? If yes, perhaps you could get 5 year DLs on the DTV.
  2. To the contrary, the most issues I've had is with airports. Land borders are less problematic. And if you plan to get a visa every few months, it's easier to just get this visa.
  3. And get yourself in trouble with immigration after a while?
  4. If others have used it for the TV, it should be allowed for this
  5. The 10k baht to extend was thrown around at the start, but nowhere do we see extensions costing that much. If an extension costs 10k baht, and the visa is multi entry, I'd just go on a border run to get another 180 days - it would cost me significantly less.
  6. DTV requirements have been published on the Thai evisa website. https://www.thaievisa.go.th/visa/dtv-visa Similar requirements to what have been posted above.
  7. RTE and RTC always use an unfavorable exchange rate when converting THB to local currency. Unfortunately not much can be done about that.
  8. Not everyone qualifies (read: not old enough) for the O-X
  9. I believe the proof of employment will only be required if you apply under the "digital nomad / freelancer" route. There could possibly be different requirements if you're applying under the "Muay Thai / Thai cooking class" route. Watch all the ED farm Muay Thai gyms pivot to this...
  10. I'll believe it when I see it. Thought it looks like it's getting closer by the day.
  11. Lol. We're not even going to get an EU-style freedom of movement even within ASEAN, don't even dream about the world.
  12. Interesting... Did the embassy website include the requirements?
  13. So let's recap. It's been close to a month since the announcement was first released, with an initial start date of 1 June. One month later, nary a squeak from the government since then. TIT.
