  1. Before I am eligible for current retirement O(by visa status change), I have always travelled by bus for visa run to Thai-Burmese border. As well as for tourist visa application @Thai embassy in Vientiane. Bus attendants were often busy passing soft drinks and snacks to the passengers for onboard refreshment. Poor soul, rest in peace. Heartful condolences from the former bus traveler...
  2. That's what Pattaya built for. That's what a lot of people come for. And that's what they pay for LOL.
  3. The video quickly sparked outrage online, with many expressing frustration over foreigners taking over jobs typically held by Thai locals. Commenters voiced their concerns, some describing Phuket as a “lawless land” and pointing out that this issue has persisted for a long time. Others noted the growing presence of foreign operators in popular areas like Kata and Karon and questioned why authorities haven’t intervened. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thailand's No-Foreigners Business list according to the Foreign Business Act 1999: The Press, radio broadcasting station or radio and television station business Rice farming, plantation or crop growing Livestock farming Forestry and timber processing from a natural forest Fishery, only in respect of the catchment of aquatic animals in Thai waters and specific economic zones of Thailand Extraction of Thai medicinal herbs Trading and auction sale of antique objects of Thailand or objects of historical value of the country . Making or casting Buddha images and monk alms-bowls Land trading As far as seen from that lists, Tour Operator is not included. Can they still expect the intervention of Thai govt while they are not violating any laws? If any expert among the readers, please share your knowledge. I am no expert to this topic. 4. Thanks for the additional info.
  5. Israel VS Hamas. Battle between one evil and another. My total impression after all.
  6. One is locked up at gun/knife point; with death threat. Another is locked up in poverty. No immediate death unlike the above case. But just like socially tortured relentlessly. Just a matter of facing instant death. Or facing slow painful death... Misery level Olympic(an attempt to justify one bad by accusing another bad). Your favorite sport? Can be part of human nature. But very hard to look at when you do it openly, visibly, repeatedly. Better keep it to yourself, instead of sharing.
  7. Very interesting. Posting texts often clearly give away their real nature(including racism, justification of the Silent Violence that makes this world miserable).
  8. Sorry to say: Quoting one bigger evil(e.g war crime). It will not really beautify any other forms of institutionalized violence(evil acts in the system at peace time; such as over economic exploitation). Some crimes are simply more visible than others(not involving military attack on civilian population). That is nothing to be bragged/justified. They are both ugly wrongdoings; only in different shapes That's all.
  9. Brutality. That is one thing they commonly exercise. Nothing more. Nothing less. Neither party looks no better in real term after all. I am not a reporter; simply quoting what I felt. End of story.
  10. Anything they cannot see with the naked eyes won't be cared for. Supposedly the serious response to the recent disaster. In reality, (compulsory) check up just in name... Isn't it?
  11. Supposedly the serious response to the recent disaster. In reality, check up just in name... Anything they cannot confirm with their naked eyes, won't be picked up;left alone as it used to be...
  12. Modern day cunningly disguised colonialism/slave labor lookalike. Looks like both Israel & Hamas are just evenly brutal in the way they treat people from outside...
  13. I am not knowledgeable in vehicle machinery. I may got some technical misinterpretations. I thought the mechanism includes it fuel system as well...
  14. It is October 10 today. Not April 1...
  15. Are you looking for elsewhere that is lot cooler than BKK? If so, how about Loei(unsure about its major towns)? I have heard it is the Coolest Region in Thailand(average annual temperature). Loei Climate, Weather By Month, Average Temperature (Thailand) - Weather Spark Location on google map: ttps://www.google.com/maps/place/Loei/@17.2821468,101.0679473,8.6z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x3121251a70100449:0x10469cfc8de4a20!8m2!3d17.4220407!4d101.6157773!16zL20vMDFmMjho?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI0MTAwNy4xIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D If you are after the lowest temperature in dry season, Sakon Nako Where Is The Coldest Place In Thailand? 2024 (catisoutoftheoffice.com) Hope this helps.
  16. The one who pressed the above button at my post, could be among rather rough, bad tempered Thais while here LOL.
  17. Mandatory mechanical inspection after 23 people tragically died of the faulty system on the bus? Better be. For the safety of any future passengers. As well as the poor souls lost...
  18. Thai people often don't hesitate to be photographed by the strangers when approached in a friendly manner. I am in Chiang Mai, and recently photographed a young pair(man & woman) in an ancient costume the park. Their clothing looked impressive and interesting. So I asked them for permission to take a few photos. I was a total strangers to them. But they happily said OK. This kind of response is not rare in this kingdom. Same applies to their pets(cats & dogs) while they are walking these small animals with them.
  19. Crime & Punishment on Pattaya beach...
  20. Standard procedure(?) in India. Met by another standard procedure here.
  21. ...This provoked her friend's husband, who struck the man in the face, leaving him unconscious on the sand. ---------------------------------------------------------- Knocking out a heavy adult man with one single hit. That harassment victim's husband must be quite a Hard Puncher. Might be talented to be a good Muay Thai boxer LOL.
  22. One suitable phrase to tell what had happened to the extremely rude aliens. Instant Karma. Karma, supposedly the Hindi word(?), but looks like increasingly common in English speaking world in recent years.
  23. Showing respect to the destination country. One common golden rule to all of the tourists, expats, and immigrants.
  24. Foreign visitors groundlessly insulted the local and faced retaliation? Looks like the perfect example of consequences. What goes around, comes around. Nothing more or less than that.
