  1. Hello

I would just like to say how overwhelmed I was by the huge response to the frantic search yesterday for O negative blood donations. I was very reassured to see how quickly the residents and holiday makers of Samui came together in a time of crisis. So a huge thank you to anyone who donated, offered to donate, called a friend or sent an email or contributed in anyway.

    THANK YOU!!!!!!

  2. Hello

I understand your dilema about choosing a hospital. I gave birth to a very healthy strong baby girl in Nathon Hospital just over two years ago. I had a long labour and came very close to having an emergancy c- section but luckily enough my little girl decided to appear just in time. I was up and running again after a few days after giving birth naturally. I organised to have a private room there for the few days I stayed there Ok so it was basic but clean It had aircon a tv fridge bathroom kettle and a sofa for my partner to crash out on with me. The only mistake i made was that I wanted to try have an all natural labour but at one stage it got a bit much and i was crying for pain relief. My mistake I was told very camly that " i had to have ordered it two weeks ago" I stupidly presumed it would be there for me if I needed it. In the long run I was happy that i took no drugs as my daughter was so strong and alert from day one.

Whatever you decide will work out. I have heard of situations where women have gone to private hospitals only to be transfered to Nathon at some stage during the labour. I wish u and ur baby all the best and try not to stress about it That will do u and your baby no good at all Best of luck.

  3. There is a lady physciatrist in Bangkok samui hospital who is great . She is half american half thai so is fluent in both languages She also deals with addictions aswell as mental health issues, counselling etc. Althgough she is quite pricey my boyfriend and I found her really helpfull and if financially affordable i would reccomend her to anyone. She is the only resource that I could find on the island.

  4. Hi

Im interested in learing traditional thai massage. Ive heard there are many courses available in Bangkok. I live in Koh samui but I have been told Bangkok is the place to do it. Can anyone recommend one for me? Are there courses that are more recognised as having a qualification at the end of the course than others?

    I appreciate any help

    Thank you.

  8. Does anyone know where I can get a Thai credit card?

I was using my Barclaycard Visa until late last year, when it ran out. Barclaycard will not send a new one to Thailand.

I am retired, so do not have a work permit.

I have ATM cards, but they are no good when trying to purchase/book flights, hotels etc.

    Any advice please. :o
