You cannot win if the police are corrupt or conspire with a third party, mainly thai against you ..I know that from experience..the thing about don't get in that situation is unavoidable in many instances, and yes legally you are compromised if you are a foreigner.. -

So what if they are half way across the crossing and the traffic are going around them not worrying about the red light, as they always do and then somebody else steps on the crossing because the traffic lights are still red and gets bowled over..( it happened in Huahin where a woman was killed by a taxi ignoring a red light & in Bangkok a doctor was killed outside a hospital the same way ) and probably tens of thousands more times you clearly don't have a grasp of safety on the roads either end of discussion for me mate... -

You could call it a jekll & Hyde approach as soon as they get behind the wheel or on a m.bike they change..as it's a chance to air their frustrations or show they are superior to other road users..the only way to stop this is to fine them money or take their car away for awhile or both.. -

Don't no what you talking about mate..l am talking about road crossings and the inability of Cars and bikes to show some common sense, as they do in other countries.. you no what common sense means, it means liability for human life.. -

That's a very ridiculous statement when old people & children can be killed & if it was your child mowed down by a recklous taxi or motorbike nobody should shed a tear..is that what your saying ? The problem should be fixed or the country will never progress from being a 3rd rate free 4 all laughing stock of a low grade tourist destination... -

In my opinion you would be taxed possibly in your country unless it was less than the gifting limit...but in thailand you would be alright if not a tax resident (180 days in thailand ) and not over 20m baht and your wife also but you would need clarification..and the rules change constantly..
