Help! Thai car in Laos

Found! Extensions can be done in various customs offices around the country. -
Quick update. As of 09/2024 thai car only allowed 15 days in Laos. Then apply for extension in CUSTOMS OFFICES. There are a few dotted around the country including Luang prabang, Bokeo, Oudomxay. Find on Wikipedia under Laos customs department.

Please can anynof you folks help. We understood we would be allowed 30 days with our thai car here in Laos. At the border we were told only 15 then extend at an office . We just can't remember the name or location of these offices. We were told there are a few around the country. We would like to travel further rather than just stay in Vientiane. Thanks

We were told at the border but have forgot. If you have nothing helpful to say nobody wants to hear from you. It's just irritating. Also why post purple book? We have this obviously to get over the border. Very unhelpful!

We have arrived over the border at Nong Khai into Vientiane with our Thai pickup. we were advised that we could only keep it here 15 days before renewing the stay agreement further. We wish to travel north but not sure where to do the car extension. Can someone tell us the name and location of relevant offices please . thank you Rod
