  1. Help and advice please……my son is now 15, has had 2 previous Thai passports, now needs to re-new. ( Its actually 6 months out of date )

Thai mother is around, but will not come to the Passport Office. Any ideas what I need to get from her,  if anything ? Over 15 and a renewal, their website is unclear (no surprise)

His UK passport is still valid.

    Thanks.

  2. Got my draft from the Naklua branch today. Very efficient, quick, friendly, and efficient staff.

    Thanks for the tip BW.

Your welcome it is always nice to share around helpfull bits of info.

Quick update for members, just went to the BKK Bank Naklua branch, was told she would not issue the bankers draft unless I had a BKK Bank account at that branch.

Went to SCB , Beach Road branch, they did it no problem, very helpful staff in that branch.

  3. http://mabprachananimalshelter.org/

This is the only one I am aware of. Also look back a page or 2 & someone in Jomtien is selling 3 dogs.

this shelter was closed last month when i checked. I hope the dogs all have homes now.....I am not sure why the site is still active...

The shelter is still open, has never been closed, I spoke with Derek and Malee this morning, plenty of lovely dogs off all ages, looking for homes. Give them a call on 0895057021 or email Derek on [email protected] . Webiste is active as its not closed !!.......

  4. No mate I dont go in his bar , but I do know him. Im sure he will have been celebrating hard Saturday.

My mates a big Rangers fan, has got the Stags Head on LK Metro, was down there on it Saturday !

Hope you lot bounce back. In saying that plenty of good days out in Division One !

  5. I flew Air India with my 7 year old son last August , BKK-LHR-BKK.

Security was a bit OTT in Delhi, but apart from that no problems at all. All flights on time, decent food and staff were good with my son.

I think we paid just over 32,000 Baht for the pair of us. I would fly them again.

Flew them LHR-NYC-LHR in the early 90's , were okay then as well.

  6. I live in a no guard village and not a single problem in 4 years.

Totally agree with the above statement. Lived on a village on Soi Kao Noi for over 5 years, no security, about 35 houses , no breaks ins / problems at all.

Now on a ' secure ' village on Siam Country Club Rd, gates, guards, cameras etc....woke up Tuesday morning to find flat screen TV, laptops, dvds , money all gone. They came in through the front door ( broke lock ) and out the same way. Security guard box 100m away. Luckily my family ( have a 7 year old son ) whose bedroom is downstairs where the robbery took place, all safe , we slept right through it.

The way the TV was unplugged , and a few other things, it was obvious they had time on their hands.

Police came , predictably did nothing ( not even the fact that they did it while we slept in the house bothered them ) , the security guard company came did nothing and developer has done nothing.

Forget about security guards here in Pattaya, make your own security is the only way to be protected.

If you want the name of the village PM me........

  7. One thing you will notice about gated "communities" is that each house also carries it's own security systems from bars on the windows to full on alarm systems.

Reason: the weakest link in these places with their supposed 24/7 "security" is just that, the security guards. Anytime there's a burglary in one of these places the smart money is on the involvement of the security guards. Who else knows what house every person lives in and who else knows who is in and who is away?

An individual house with it's own physical security is as good, if not better, than these communities where you can't even rely on the place being kept clean and free from stray dogs.

Don't take any notice of the Pattaya bashers, these people are like those machines on the pier at Brighton where the parrot in the cage squawks as people walk by set of by a PIR detector. They also have a very similar level of intelligence. ;)

Pattaya is what you seek in life, seek the dirt and you shall find the same.

Completely agree...a house, in a village compound or outside is only as good as it's own security. As anyone living here will corroborate, robberies are almost always an inside job (either the guards and their friends or a spurned lover who copied the keys). I live in a no guard village and not a single problem in 4 years.

  8. Its owned by a very good friends of mine Derek and Malee. It has been there 4 years, and is to be found in Tambon Pong, about 100 metres from Mulligans Bar. He has around 80 dogs and a few cats, all very well cared for , all strays who would have otherwise most likely died. Some really beautiful animals and potential pets there.

They are a lovley couple and Im sure any donations would be great appreciated. His vets bill alone frightens the hel_l out of me !!

    numbers 0895057021 and 0810021957

  9. The following are allegations that will be made this weekend

Terry has been doing massive football accumulators including games he is playing in.....

JT has been sh*gging another current team mates wife who has kids and are still together.

he owes Wembley a substantial amount of money for a Box he owns and hasn't paid for even after he had mates in there racking up a 20k bill at the FA cup final!

3 other chelsea players were slamming Bridges mrs aswell as terry.

Hilario's wife is the other team mates wife and the other players nobbing bridges bird were Gudjohnsen, Mutu and Drogba

The Sun have lined up another EIGHT women whove slept with him in the last 18 months or so. Enough for a couple of weeks of front pages. Including FHMs own HSH, Tanya Robinson

The front page today that Bridges ex, Vanessa, has slept with five members of the Chelsea squad is only the beginning. Two other Chelsea players - Gudjohnsen and Drogba - were also sleeping with Bridge's girlfriend at the same time as Terry.

The Sun is also paying Vanessa £250k to dish everything including the fact that the mystery fifth Chelsea player is, depressingly predictably, Ashley Cole. Which should give Cheryl the excuse she needs to finally dump him.

  10. .

I am lucky I have a girl friend who does not like gold and both her and her family only want 100,000 Sinsod Which for a farang is very good Most of the greedy bastards want at least a million.

    Only a 100,000 Baht ?

Sorry cant get my head around paying the sinsod. Each to their own I guess. I paid zero, and thai wife's family didnt ask for any. Even her sister married a German, he paid nothing. Havent met to many Thai guys who paid it either.

Saying that one of my clients was asked for 400k night before wedding in Surin for her family. He refused as he was already taking care of her 2 children she had with a Thai guy, the family would not let up, so he walked away. Sad as now the kids will struggle over her familes greed.

  11. For example St. Andrews have football on a Saturday morning

My son goes to Best, can kids from other schools go to the football Saturday at St Andrews ?

Does anybody fancy doing something similar with kids closer in East Pattaya ? My son loves football, and at his age ( 6 ) I was playing for school and boys club.

I have coaching experience.......I work all week though, so would need to be a Sunday morning..........

  12. Referee: Mike Jones (Cheshire) 4 It is often a bitter accusation levelled at referees in defeat in these matches that a Premiership referee looks after Premiership players. Mike Jones did little to distance himself from that idea on Wednesday. The Chelsea goal could have been disallowed for three separate offences, some of the free kicks given to the host were soft in the extreme and some of the things QPR were left to suffer with no free kick, including a horrible tackle from behind on Jay Simpson just before he went off, were astonishing. Ably assisted on the line by Mike Cairns who turned in just about the worst performance I have ever seen from an assistant referee.

Attendance: 37,781 (6000 QPR approx) As you would expect, fairly quiet from the home fans who rank this competition low on their list of priorities and probably feel they have bigger fish to fry. At the other end the QPR fans were in great voice, thankfully steering clear of the disgusting Didier Drogba chant, and backing the team throughout. Everybody chuckled at the John terry chants and Paul Furlong got a standing ovation from the R’s at half time while the Chelsea fans had to have it explained to them via the public address system exactly who he is.

  13. Probably all those years of playing for Rangers...turn anyone to drink !! :)

Would like to see those ' Time of our Lifes ' shows.....one had Stanley , Gerry Francis and Dave Thomas on.......on about 75/76 season......

  14. I remember hearing about Phil Parkes the old West Ham keeper being drunk during a game, just imagine if we had lost, the fans would have done him in.

Really ? What game was that ? Always had him down as a good professional....

  15. 'I thought he was going to hit me so I grabbed his jumper and smacked him three times...... it was clearly self-defence your honour'

Call me old fashioned, but that seems a perfectly reasonable defence for a multi-millionaire, international footballer to use in a English court of law these days.

  16. Thanks. I was hoping that was the case.

No I dont have sole custody, even though I have looked after him for last 4 years on my own.

My ex-wife pops up now and then, says she will sign paperwork giving me sole custody, but then dissapears. ( not a bad thing !! )

Was happy to get her to meet me at the Thai Passport Office last week.

    Thanks again....

  17. My half Thai / English 6 year old son traveled from BKK to London return, with me last year on his UK Passport, so he is on overstay since last September. He had previously traveled on his Thai and UK passports , obviously without any problems ( we are resident in Thailand , I have work permit ).

Last year my Thai ex-wife disappeared so I could not re-new his Thai passport, so he traveled to London on his UK one. She has now re-appeared and last week we both went to Bang Na to get him his new Thai Passport.

In early August I am talking him on holiday to London for 2 weeks. Obviously his UK Passport is now on overstay. Any ideas of what problems we will encounter at BKK airport.

To clarify , he has both UK and Thai passports and born in Thailand. I am a single parent, living / working in Thailand. We will be travelling to London for 10 days.

I cant see how he can technically overstay as he is a Thai passport holder and born here in Thailand. He is 6 years old.

Any help much appreciated, I will also be checking with our local Immigration Office.
