  1. Ahh yes! I guess your Non B would be cancelled the day your work permit expires. If I’m not mistaken, you will get 7 days to get your new visa in order or leave the country? That’s one of the reasons I’m glad I can apply for a work permit with a Non-O. Thanks for the info, DrJack!
  2. Same here !! I’m thinking about contacting my university for a replacement document with a name change or a Confirmation letter confirming my name, but it’s kinda a hassle. It’s quite common in the west to put initials on degrees, so there must be people on this Form who were in a similar situation. I’m interested to know if they were successful or what steps they had to take to solve this problem.
  3. Hi all, I have a degree with my full first name, middle names as initials, and my full last name. Obviously, my passport has my complete name. As my full name in my passport doesn’t match my name (with initials) on my degree, I foresee some difficulties when applying for a work permit. I was wondering if anyone here has some experience with applying for a work permit with initials on their degree? many thanks in advance. Mike
  4. Thank you very much, Tod Daniels and DrJack54! It makes sense that my visa and work permit have no influence on each other.
  5. Hi everyone, I’m staying in Thailand on a NON-O (Thai wife) visa and will have to apply for a work permit soon. What I’m curious about is: 1. Can I apply for a work permit with a NON-O visa? 2. Does my NON-O visa expiration date need to match with the work permit? My visa expires somewhere in July, but will apply for a work permit in January. Does that mean I would also need to renew my Non-O visa in January, so my visa matches the validity period of the work permit? Many thanks in advance.
  6. Thanks, Bigt3116! My 400K has been on my Thai account, untouched, for about 10 years now 😀, so I should be fine. Thanks, DrJack54! Thank you all for the great news!! I've stayed in Thailand for about 10 years on a Non-O visa, which I extent yearly. Due to my wife's overseas assignment I wasn't able to extend this year, left Thailand to join her overseas on the day my Non-O expired, and returned two months later on a visa exempt. I literally just found out (Jan 10) about the e-visa when I tried to book an appointment at the Thai consulate in Vientiane. It kinda freaked me out, as everything is so unclear. I thought I had to fly back home to apply for a Non-O visa. Lets just hope Samut Prakan immigration office is willing to help.
  7. Let me get this straight. You CAN apply for your initial Non-O visa based on marriage at your local Immigration office within Thailand??? That's the first time I'm hearing this. I was always under the impression that you need to apply for your first Non-O visa from a Thai consulate abroad.
