  1. What I do in terms of portfolio management and research, involves considerable amounts of time each working week (I said that in my note above); you seem to have confused it with “simply having investments”; I doubt having the odd passive OEIC or bonds would cut it. My submission was very detailed in terms of my portfolio of work & accounts. In terms of HMRC data, accounts etc: that’s up to the individual's circumstances what they submit to the Embassy. Any income and capital appreciation outside of a tax-free wrapper will be shown in your HMRC records, again depending on the individual circumstance. I think your assumption regarding retirees is a strange one. The fact is that there is no upper age limit for the DTV in whatever category you feel may apply to your circumstances: Digital Nomads, Freelancers, Remote Workers; and Various Softpower such as cooking courses. Anybody interested in the DTV may find this YouTube video of assistance: it clearly blasts through any incorrect assumptions.
  2. I edited my note to include: I applied as a digital online worker: freelance
  3. I thought I would share my DTV success experience as it may help others as they prepare their submission. I applied as a digital online worker: freelance I have to start by passing my thanks to member oliverphoenix2 who kindly offered good advice as his situation is similar in many ways to my own: So, a few points that may be useful to others. · Don’t be deterred by your age: Trump is older than me and Xi & Putin a similar age to me: the DTV does not have an upper age limit. · I am an investor who runs a large personal portfolio and spends considerable time online, often in various countries I travel to, researching UK companies & trading. I also have a generous pension from my employment days. · Do plan and prepare your submission with care; to fail to plan is to plan to fail. · I provided all of the usual documents: jpeg for passport & driving licence, pdf for 6 months of bank statements (6 months was my choice): Note I merged PDFs using xodo which offers a free service. The reason for this is that in the submission you can only upload one PDF in each section. Also address of where I will be staying & flight number to BKK (if you are not flying direct then like me, just offer the flight number of the final flight to BKK) · Having made my submission to the London Thai Embassy on the e-system I have the following timeline: · Day 1: 9am submission made. I got on that same day a request for a few more details of myself as a sort of “this is me, this is what I do”. I was also asked for HMRC tax data which is so easy these days via the HMRC app. · Day 2: I sent in the extra information they requested: Introducing myself, what I do etc and HMRC tax calculation. · Day 3: DTV application approved. I hope this proves useful to others and as ever, my thanks for the advice offered by members of this forum.
  4. Many thanks for the response. Would the non-imm O Visa allow me to enter and leave multiple times as that is what I am really looking for
  5. Hello, I am not sure if this question has been posed before regarding the DTV, Apologies if it has, but possibly some well-informed members here may be able to offer me advice on a specific area of the DTV requirements. Note: finance requirements required under the DTV are not a problem for me. My specific point is that I am a private investor; I invest both for myself and family members. I am very active in the UK stock market working on line about 2-3 hours a day. My question is, would this type of work (which I carry out from all the various countries I visit), satisfy the remote worker/digital nomad requirement of the DTV. I don’t work for a company, purely a very active private investor. Thanks in advance
  6. Just one further thought, is the 60 days cumulative during a calendar year i.e. if I have used 40 already in 2025 can I only visit for another 20 days during the remainder of 2025?
  7. Hello all, just joined this forum having recently returned from 6 weeks in Thailand with a start date of 01/01/2025 using the tourism visa. It’s possible that the answer to my questions may be within the numerous pages of this site but anyway, I will ask here. My questions are: 1. I intend to visit Thailand twice each calendar year. Is this permissible via the tourism visa exempt allowance? The Thai embassy in London suggests that repeat visits entry will be at the discretion of the officer on duty at passport control (not exactly reassuring). 2. I have looked at the multi-entry visa but this is only valid for 6 months from issue. Does anybody know if the METV can be applied for more than once? My situation is: 74 years of age, no criminal convictions, wish to spend January + February in Thailand each year plus a 3-week period every June/July. Most importantly, I don’t want to risk being denied entry once I arrive at BKK. Any advice would be greatly appreciated,
