Hi
I have applied for extension of "o" based on marriage.
I have been advised we will be getting a visit from Immigration where we will need 2 neighbours to say they know me.
Is there anything else I will likely need or have to do?
thanks

Hi
I am presently on Non Imm "O" with intension to get extension to stay based on marriage
My current 90 days expites on 10th feb 2023.
Having checked templates here, I think I need to complete a TM 7 together with a Bank letter plus pictures of me and wife and daughter in and around house. Plus a map to house.
I reported to Chaiyaphum Immigration a few days after arrival to register at our house address.
I have read that I should apply for extension anywhere from 30 days before current expiry with the latest being 14 days prior. ie on or abour 27th jan.
I have a slight issue. I have the 400k baht in my new account, however, due to some issues getting the money released in Aust and getting it sent to my new account in Chaiyaphum, the balance didnt get to 400k until 7th december which means the 60 days doesnt occur until either 4th or 5th Feb depending how they count the days.
My question I guess is this...do I need to wait until after the 60 days (ie 5th Feb) to apply or can I apply in the final week of Jan and the 60days expires during the processing of the application.
Thanks for any advice you are able to offer
cheers

Hi
Im in Chaiyaphum. My current supply of Zestril runs out next week. Yesterday went to the largest suppliers her in Chaiyaphum and "no have". My wifes friend is a doctor she checked it out for her and apparently none available here in Chaiyaphum.
My question... is the supply issue sorted in Pattaya? or are people just finding the odd Pharmacy with a box or 2?
I will go out later today and seek an alternative as a stop gap. Thank you for the suggestions in this thread.
Thanks.

Hi
thanks for previous help
I have one final question in relation to Invitation letter from Spouse.
I havent been able to find a sample letter.
What details are required? I have previously done Invitation Letter to bring my wife to Australia on Tourist Visa (which were quite detailed)
Am I correct in thinking something simple, along the lines of
- length of time known
- time married
- want husband to come live with me in Thailand
- address where we will be living
- statement that husband provided financial support
Plus of course her Thai ID Card
Anything else I need to add?
Thanks for everyones help
cheers

Thanks for that Joe, much appreciated.
Just a thought.. in relation to (5) Letter on Invitation...would it be better to just have her sign a letter in English?
cheers

Hi
At present I am living in Brisbane Australia. I am married to a Thai lady since April 2018. She and her daughter live in Chaiyaphum. We have a house in Chaiyaphum (in wifes name) with a mortgage which I pay.
I plan to move to Thailand in November (ticket purchased)
My questions are related to Visa requirments:
- Is the correct visa for me a type "O" which I apply for from Thai Embassy in Canberra
- My intention is to convert to a 12 month Visa based on marriage in Thailand, so is a 90 day visa sufficient? I have a bank account in Thailand but not in Chaiyaphum. I will need to open same when I get to Chaiyaphum and then transfer funds to cover the B400k rule (which I believe needs to be seeded for 2 months)..is this correct?
- When I apply for Visa in Australia do I need Insurance with a type "O" visa? My plan is to get Health Insurance in Thailand once Im settled
- When applying for Visa in Australia, I have my marriage Certificate (we were married in Bangkok at Government office) together with a certfied translation made back in 2018. Will it be necessary to get a new translation or will existing documentation be sufficent?
- Invitation Letter from my wife, I assume this will need to be in Thai but do I need this translated to English?
- I have purchased a one way ticket to Thailand (basically because I have no idea when I will be returning to Australia. If I have a Visa will I have problems with only a one way ticket? I can always purchase a cheap Air Asia ticket to show I am leaving at some future date if necessary.
If you feel there are other things I need to know, feel free to let me know anything I have missed.
Thank you for your assistance
cheers

Hi
Normally I book a hotel or condo for 30days in Pattaya and I give a copy of my Passport and someone else takes care of the paperwork.
I am married to a Thai lady. We have a house in Chaiyaphum. I have been there but at those times I have had the rented room in pattaya where (in theory at least) Immigration can find me.
This trip I will only stay a couple of nights in Pattaya, then the rest of the time in Chaiyaphum at the house (house is in wife's name). I will only be in Thailand for 29 days, so will just get a stamp on Arrival (Im an Australian citizen) rather than a Visa.
Do I (or my wife) need to complete any paperwork? I imagine if there is paperwork we will need to lodge it at Immigration. What other things will I need to produce.
Thanks for your help
cheers

Hi
I have a Nuvi 50 purchased in Australia.
I have played around with downloading ESRI Thailand maps but dont seem to be able to follow the instructions well enough to get them to work.
Im thinking I should be able to get the maps loaded at Tukcom in Pattaya
Does anyone have any experience of having them loaded at Tukcom ?
Any ideas on which stall holders may be able to offer this to me?
Thanks

Marriage extension...Immigration Home Visit
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
Thanks everyone
Yes hardly spoke to me.
Got the IDs and House books (copies of neighbours) and got them to sign paper (gee the Thais love paper)
Didnt come in the house we sat outside in the sun (????)
Took some pics of us sitting around and at the gate
Everyone was speaking in thai so I just laughed when they did and resisted the urge to look at my phone
The fuel money tip (yes that was my fallback position) I told the wifey later about that and she said we not do that..probably has better ways of utilizing money Im handing out 5555
Once again
thank you
cheers
