  1. Well thanks  I suspected that but it worked fine (both app and website) for most of 2020 and it's the only site I cannot use. Infact I have bought presents from here online from Lazada and had them delivered to the family home with no problems. What reason would they have to restrict access ?

  2. HI I'm  stuck in the UK and for some reason I cannot access the 3bb website or use the 3bb member app from the UK anymore so cannot pay the internet bills online now. Anybody any idea what's going on as it used to work for most of last year ? Looks like it's been geo restricted but why on earth would they do that ?

just take a utility bill that you have paid recently that is proof of address, it is as simple as that, why dont you go to Trendy house and seek info from there Soi 13 Bangkok, or google "what is required to renew Uk passport " get the info from the horses mouth !!

your joking right ?? VFS will not reply to emails or phone calls  as they are just unnecessary, unaccountable middle men who just post your application to the UK. The utility bill will work if it's got your name on it which i'd imagine is quite rare for farangs.

Well I do have a lease and Thai bank statements but since none of those items are mentioned in their list I assumed they would not be acceptable.

They should be more than enough. My evidence was a hotel discount membership letter which was the only thing that had been sent to my home. I also used a residence certificate from immigration years ago that by the time had been written and translated had no less than 3 errors (according to my bilingual daughter)but still was sufficient. Hint- they (Liverpool) cannot check or verify anything you send them only that the address actually exists.

  5. Looking for travel insurance for my daughter for a 2 month trip to the UK mainly for health. I reckon I could get NHS treatment if I needed it but not for her as she's never lived in the UK. I was offered insurance through AIG when booking my flight with Emirates but as all the people on the booking did not meet their nationality/stay requirements (ie me) I couldn't insure my daughter this way.

    Any recommendations gratefully received.

Can I please ask, how you guys handled the stamp in / stamp out of Myanmar, after clearing the Thai immigration on your way out - and obviously before entering back in Thailand ?

just ask around near Thai immigration on your way out and you will be directed to a little kiosk down a short alley to the left of immigration who sells you the visa run service. You check out of Thailand then wait in a little cafe just past immigration for the songtaew bus which takes you about 3kms inside Myanmar to a duty free shack (there's toilets there as well).

There you wait about 15mins while the driver takes the passports somewhere to be stamped and then he takes you back.

Its a very good crossing if you don't want to use many pages on your passport as it only takes half a page (4 stamps).

You just can´t say that you get fines for something your landloard should have been doing. You are the one that must have control over that your TM 30 has been done. If the landlord will not do it, you are the one that must do it. That´s why the option for possessor is on the form.

If you stay at a hotel or someone's house and THEY don't report you for whatever reason do you understand that until the fine is paid you ain't getting your extension ?

Even if passports are done in the UK, I would imagine a percentage of applications would be incomplete , sent to the wrong address etc.

VFS justs exists to make sure the applications are correct before sending them off to UK. Otherwise the UK end would probably be opening and returning every 3rd application, and that would take extra staff, extra recourses, all at UK pay rates.

Every application has to be checked individually so no extra staff is needed, if something is wrong a quick email to the applicant explaining problems or note left on file if they ring, move on to next passport. If VFS was scrapped tomorrow and the money saved used to hire more people at the passport office (which they ended up doing anyway)and to create a proper accountable helpline the efficiencies would be a lot greater IMO.

I'd have no problem with VFS if they were an option but they're not, they are an unnecessary mandatory step costing people a lot of money unless you happen to live in or near Bangkok. Worse still they are not even accountable.

Because the embassy/immigration would need to employ 5-10 people to process the mail each day. There would still be people posting in, out of date passports, incomplete forms etc. VFS can at least screen out the obvious invalid applications.

The embassy can get by with minimal staff and processing facilities. instead of 20 people processing invalid and incomplete applications, they can cut it down to 2 people processing complete and valid applications.

I don't know about visas but regarding passports there's is absolutely no reason for VFS to exist . Everything is done in the UK now and I am quite capable of filling out a form and posting it myself as you are able to do if you live in various other countries in the world.

The only thing Embassies are involved with are emergency travel documents which are only needed now because it takes so damn long to get a passport replacement.

Whilst I’m no fan of VFS, indeed I’ve complained about them myself twice, and on both occasions they resolved my complaint satisfactory, I don’t see how VFS could be blamed for this.
Their role is no more than sending the supporting evidence to the UKVI for a the decision to be made, they couldn’t be expected to know the decision maker would mess up the application, and of course they wouldn’t see the end result, though you’ve never suggested they would.
Clearly the ECO has made a mistake, and even though it was one that the applicant should have picked up earlier, it’s wrong that there is no accountability.
I suspect that the UKVI will apologise, but I expect they won’t offer any sort of compensation but will simply pass the buck back to the applicant reminding them of their advice to check visas thoroughly.

YES VFS serve no purpose whatsoever and are just corruption western style. How can they be accountable when they actually do nothing or serve no purpose ?

  11. just downgraded to 100/100 and my IPTV for the 1st time is working perfectly. my tests outside of Thailand are now reading better than when I was on 300/300. As I suspected (in my area)there is no real life difference for a normal customer between any of the packages. Madness to buy anything but the lowest.

  12. Well I'm on the 300/300 3bb package and I'm  going in to see them this week about downgrading to the 100/100 because every day starting about 4.30 pm my speeds degrade that much from outside Thailand it's useless. I'm lucly to get 3mbps. The engineers come out and just blame it on everything else bar them.

The higher packages just subsidize everyone else until they have enough money to properly upgrade the network, I was better off before the upgrade. For local content 100mbps is plenty of speed and nearly half the price of what I'm paying now.
