    Hi thanks for the reply. He's aware about losing ILR after 2 years. It's setting up the evisa that concerns him as you have to be in the UK to do so apparently.

    Hello. I have a Thai friend who may have got himself into a problem. He has a long-term UK ILR residence permit in his passport. He has been in Thailand over a year now but wants to return to the UK and has just heard about the new requirement to link the ILR with an evisa. He's worried that it may cause a problem leaving Thailand or with UK Immigration if he's allowed to fly. Your thoughts would be appreciated.
