  1. Yep as stated above

don't buy if you don't live there

And I have a condo and dont live there

    But won't buy another abroad

I now stick to buying any property within a close location of where I mostly live

I'm familiar with the Market and procedure

Makes it Easy for me to manage any problems

    Otherwise

You would need to rely on too many other people to rent it / do repairs etc

And I find you lose control if your not there

  2. It was a "group on" deal that has now expired

All the dentists around here wanted minimum £1000

    so £500 was cheap

    And over 100 signed up

It was dentist called perfect profiles

They are currently doing them from £680

    Based in Luton and Wolverhampton

  3. Im just having the procedure done in the uk

It was actually promoted on a group on deal at £500

I've had the pin put in to my upper jaw and it is a 6 month wait for it to bond into the bone

It seems a long wait but they were insistent they couldn't do it sooner for it to be successful

Lower jaw is 3 month s from pin to tooth

  4. I had TWO helmets stolen at Tesco. They were locked on the bike and they just cut the strap. Chickenshit bastards... Of course, Tesco can't do anything...

Same as me but mine were cut at tops supermarket On 2 separate occasions

    don't use the shop now

  5. bought this condo in jomtiem 8 years ago

  6. hi i want to renovate a condo in jomtien and wonder if anyone can personally recommend a quality tradesman, rather than i just look at the small ads and take pot luck, i need a small kitchen fitted, a new bathroom fitted, some electrical work , two new doors , a new built in wardrobe made , and a bit of painting, an all rounder who speaks a little english would be good , anybody know of anyone thanks

  7. heres an update, i met up with him today i kept it civil and polite, he reckons his labour is still in the village after sonkran and he needs to pay for them to come down and pay them some wages so i agreed to give him 10000 baht instead of the 20000 he originally wanted to get them back and get it finished , he says work will resume on friday or monday and take another 2 weeks ,worst scenario i drop another 10000 or maybe he is honest and has a genuine cash flow problem and stays true to his word, check back soon for further updates. thanks for replies up to now some good advice, to answer a couple of points, there was a bond left with the office along with his personal details i had to pay it and i get it back when he finishes , and i had 4 quotes , 3 thai and 1 english i didn,t pick the cheapest nor the most expensive , i picked the one whose work i saw in 3 other condos and so far the work hes done is very good , and its not costing 3 x 50000 equal installments the first two payments were slightly more than that but if he does finish it will be worth every penny

  8. im having my condo refurbished and the thai builder that is doing it has come to a standstill, i chose him because he showed me 3 in my block he had just completed, he lives in my block, his sister runs the restaurant in the block, and he left his photocopied personal details at reception , i got a contract so i would pay in 3 installments ive paid the 2 installments as agreed first one at the start, second one when tiling and ceiling finished and theres 50,000 baht owing , he wants another 20,000 out of the 50,000baht to carry on but when i point out contract says pay the final installment on completion and im reluctant to pay anymore until hes finished he aint been back to do anymore since sonkran and the remaining things hes got to do is quite a lot, it was supposed to be finished april 7th and im due to go home on may 3rd which he knows and in i wont be back for a few months i wondered if there was anything i could do ? anyone got any good advice please?

  9. i have never seen a dog in the corridor or any dog shit around, and im not looking to sell, may rent though, however there are a few stray dogs who hang around in the field next door and on the road out the front . they sometimes come in through the front fence which is easy for dog but are soon pushed out by staff dogs are not allowed in the condos. most of the thai families i see there mostly at the weekends seem very quiet and respectful. the majority will have paid good money to buy in this block and most people including myself who invest good money dont want to ###### it up. good point by chopper by the way as you are buying a double unit you will pay twice the maintenance fee that i pay , i think there has been some management changes recently and a few farangs who live there full time have just organised a vote with all the owners they could contact (both thai and foreign owners) and called a meeting to get some co- owners onto the commitee so the co owners can have more input into what gets done and who does what ,hopefully should lead to an even better run block .

  10. i own a condo at metro had it two years ,and im quite happy with it , im on floor 26, 58 sq mts, have a fantastic view, its pretty much why i bought it, the block is fairly well maintained, although compared to some the yearly fee is considered high at 11,000 baht per year, it is a very quiet block, somedays i have the pool all to myself. there were people here in december cos i was one of them, i never saw it with no lights though, but you have to see it from the front view to see the lights, the distance can be a problem if you have no transport i have a bike and plenty of time so its ok for me im currently having it refurbished and may let it out while i go back to the uk for the summer so while the work goes on ive moved into view talay one, now thats busy! how much you gotta pay for yours? a few ive noticed for sale are a triple penthouse on the floor 42 advertised for about 11 million baht, the studios units ive seen are between 2million and 2.5 million for ones that are original fixtures and fittings, 2.9 million for high floor refurbished ones, (there will be other units at different prices i havnt seen) anyone looking to rent, mines available from may .
