  1. OP here. I've been in and out of Thailand for 35 years, but other than some "interesting" times with the customs department and the occasional visa extension, have not been much involved with the bureaucracy. Until now. So thanks for the feedback. Looks like the provinces with more expats than here have decided they have better things to do than sit on a routine request for a week or two. The Lamphun office had three Myanmar nationals in there the first time I stopped by and no one at all the second time, so they might just want to look busy. Or, the boss doesn't bother to show up but once a week. Interesting that BKK has different rules, even within the city. My government officer girlfriend was (unsurprisingly) less surprised than I at the variation between offices.
  2. Correct, though I was just wondering how much variation there is.
  3. This was Amphur Lamphun. I probably should have asked about express to grease the wheel, though she didn't hint at anything.
  4. I just got my Non-O retirement visa so it's the first time for a COR. I'm in Lamphun, and after dropping off all the papers, the officer said "15 working days". When I explained that I had a DL appointment coming up, she said "maybe next week". I'm wondering if this is normal. The documents they required were: Copy of passport and visa Copy of all used passport pages Hand-drawn map of residence TM-30 Original / certified bank statements 2 Photos Application Other than the few baht for copies, the used passport pages were no problem, but a bit of a surprise. Are other offices requiring those?
