  1. Hi, we have an average sized garden with a small patch of lawn but round the back of the house (tiled) we have a few 'flower bed' type things which are all full of fruit and veg etc, anyway the Mrs keeps putting all cuttings, veggie/fruit food waste, dead leaves etc in the 'flower bed' things and thus we have loads of things, possibly weeds, new plants and quite possibly new breeds of plants never before seen - ha ha, anyway, I would like to have some sort of compost heap but in a tub or a bin tucked away round the side of the house, is this possible, a good idea, can you buy them or will a large black bin do then all the food/organic waste etc can be out in one place and then used later on as fertilizer, if this all sounds nieve then I apoligise but the only experince I have with all of this before having this gaff was watching Ma in the back garden in the UK and even then it was from the patio with a cocktail - ha ha!!

    Thanks

  2. Thanks for those, the internet is fine through the cable direct to the computer, I have tried turning off the firewall to no avail, I will try the website now, failing that its going in the pool!!

Seriously though, where can I take it to for someone with more computer savvy than me to try and sort out?

    Thanks

  3. I have the internet at home and have just purchased a Linksys Wireless Access Point thingy, all singing, all dancing, easy set up etc, Vists compatible (says it on the box, must be true) and having followed the cd supplied instructions i'm unable to get it working, my friend with his Apple Mac came round and got straight on my network with my password, all of which I set up, when I try it seems I get connected to the router but with no internet, i'm assuming its some security issue between my puter and the router!!

    Any suggestions??

    Thanks

  4. We have fairly new sandstone all around our pool and have just very recently noticed that there seems to be a few smallish areas that aren't completely drying out at all and have a hint of green in them, there seems to be a pattern as to the location that matches up with rain water coming off of the roof, we haven't currently got guttering but will be getting it soon, anyway, I have tried jet hosing the areas and also scrubbing with soap and water but they are still there, before I go back to the builders (its under warranty etc) and ask them to replace it, was wondering has anyone else had/have this, i'm assuming its mold in the stone??

    Thanks

  5. I have had a water jet sprayer for a long time now and its just gone belly up on me, I only really use it rarely and am not keen on buying another one, does anyone know where I can rent one for a few hours or if someone has one that could rent me etc??

    Thanks

  7. I would like to buy a nice solid teak table and chairs for my patio, something like a 6 seater with chairs, I haven't really seen any around, to be honest I have only really looked in the big stores and haven't seen much, anyone know where I could get something like that?

    Thanks

  8. I'm fairly new to this site, since being told about it, I have found it be very informative and honest (in most cases), myself and the Mrs will be applying for our first visitors visa next month, a visit for marraige visa, I live in Thailand and hail from Kent, in my hometown there are is also a large Thai community and at some point everyone of the lovely ladies worked in a bar in Pattaya or Bankok, all of the couples except 1 told the truth at visa interviews (over the years as they are all of varying ages) and all of them got visas, the only 1 that said he met his lady in her laundry whilst travelling around Chiapum was- surprise refused the visa on the 1st attempt, they reapplied, told the truth and that was 3 years ago and they are both happily married and living in the UK, I think the truth is always the best way.

    Thanks

  9. Thanks, sorry to butt in on another thread but (assuming we get the visit for marraige visa) our first 6 month visa will expire at the end of October, the Mrs would have spent no more than 2 months of the 6 month visa in the UK, we will then apply for another 6 month visa so we can spend Christmas in the UK, assuming of course we get the 2nd one as well.

    Thanks

  10. Hi peeps, I had all my questions answered and feel very confident, reading through the recent threads has given me another question.

Assuming we get my fiance 'visit for marraige' visa from May and that expires in October, would it still be possibel to apply for a normal visitors visa for Christmas without waiting a few months, we live in Thailand and have no intention on settling in the UK just yet.

I assumed that getting new visit visas would be pretty easy having been there and returned etc on a marraige visa.

    Hope that makes sense.

    Happy New Year

    Jimmy
