  1. I read in another Forum that Pattaya has modified it's requirements for retirement visa

According to the information, if you are obtaining a retirement visa with use of your embassy's proof-of-income statement, it is no longer necessary to get the letter from the bank and no longer necessary to bring an updated bank passbook with you when applying for the retirement visa or renewing a retirement visa.

    Is this information correct ?

  2. Windows XP Service Pack 3 - ISO-9660 CD Image File

Had similar problems with a recently installed copy of Xp,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,would not let me download any uploads.....opened this site in

Mozilla Firefox and downloaded the file above ,,be warned its 544.9 MB !!

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...50-fe22559d164e

After installing returned to the regular Microsoft update page and successfully downloaded all current updates

  3. I was having NAT problems with my Vuze client. Using the Port Forwarding program recommended by "Lite Beer worked a treat.

However following a internet outage yesterday the same problem has appeared again all my torrents show Yellow status Using the same program to update my router still shows my port 53502 as being offline.

Can I safely change that port 53502 ? and if so what would be a good choice ?

    Thanks

  5. One of my torrents which I downloaded yesterday is corrupt. I cannot access it to delete it.

My download client Vuze tells me to run Checkdisk but I cannot locate Checkdisc on my computer?

I am running Windows XP Pro 2002. Sp 3. Any suggestions please

  6. It sounds like more Nong Khai nonsense to me.

Yes. Go there again at your peril :D

Last year in an attempt to bypass this rather unpleasant officer :D I flew from Udon to Bangkok waited in Suan Phlu from 10 am

untll 2pm only to be politely told that I must apply at my local office which then was based in Aek Udon hospital.

So short of me complying with his whim, moving from Udon or he getting transferred :D I guess Im stuck :o

  7. I renewed my retirement visa last month in Nonghkai, this was my 2nd renewal there, 4 previous renewals were done in Pattaya.

Not many hurdles this time my Embassy letter which was 1 year old was accepted but I was told that I would need a new one next year.

I have always used the mixture of pension income and savings and for the past 2 years have made sure my savings were on deposit for at least three months.

I have always transferred the savings in one lump sum from my bank in the U.K.

The officer who processed my application said this was not going to be satisfactory next year and he wanted to see 60.000 Baht transferred to my Thai account monthly!

This would work out at 720.000 Baht over a year a sum that with my modest life style I would rarely use! Also the fact of incurring monthly transfer charges of 20 pounds sterling! as opposed to my present 1 off 20 pounds.

There would not seem to be any great advantage in this method as opposed to showing 800.000 Baht savings although I did not enquire as to how he might want to see that 800 K transferred

Is this policy unique to Nongkhai or is it going to be enforced nationwide in 2009?

  8. From yesterday's Guardian

    ""

After Redknapp's done his reconnaissance to see whether Whitly Bay sands provide as pleasant a dog-walking venue as Poole harbour, he'll take the job, buy some Africans (with the money Ashley has made attiring the whole of the North to look like shop assistants in J-D sports), finish up 8th, then endure a difficult second season during which the man-breasted Toon fans'll start their bewilderingly inane call for Mr Alan 'Charisma' Shee-Rah to cut short his world lecturing tour on how to sneakily elbow centre halves and lead them to the Promised Land. 'Arry's already comic twitch will go into overdrive, like Alex Higgins trying to catch mosquitos with his eyelids, preventing him even from driving to the ground to receive the news of his sacking, whereupon he'll spend the rest of his days explaining in his column for Nuts what kind of parlous state the club was in when he got there and how he did a great job...

Newcastle United - problems as unsolvable as the Israel-Palestine situation. ""

  9. I renewed my Irish Passport in Bangkok last year. The whole process took about 4 weeks. I renewd it prior to my retirement extension as I presumed for 1 year's extension I needed sufficient validty before expiry.!

  10. Upgrade to the latest Firefox. Your popup blocker will likely work better too. :o

    Updated and installed Adblock

Ran spybot and it detected TagASaurus ........ and Statcounter,,,,,,,,,,said it "fixed it" but the offending website promptly popped up again on IE.......

I.E was not open at the time !!

  11. It's resolves to Clicksor and the IP is owned by Verizon so it likely won't be spyware.

For god's sake don't put that fool program (Norton) on your system. It's the first thing I uninstall when buying a new PC. Resource hungry, cumbersome, and bloated. You'd be better off with most spyware IMO.

I agree about Norton,,,,,,over my dead body ,,,,,,,etc........I was probably wrong to call it a pop up it's a window that opens with that initial Url , then converts to Clicksor ,then opens a variety of Porn sites ! it

  12. it's not on your comp ,

    get yourself a pop-up blocker ,

most likely just a case of turning it on ,

what browser are you using ?

Have both IE and Mozilla and Pop up blockers activie on both

  13. When I registered my motorcycle last year I have to provide a "residence'letter from the immigration office here in Pattaya.

The registration needs renewing shortly. I have changed addresses here in Pattaya since the initial registration.

Do I have to provide a new letter of residence from immigration to renew the registration ?

  14. I do not use Firefox but the message you got would indicate you should accept cookies for gmail to work so do not believe removing them would have been the answer.
    * This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept

    cookies.

Not sure but expect Firefox has a mail reader so perhaps you need to say if you are using SMPT or WEB access as well.

Yes I too was surprised at the Cookie reccomendation. I access my gmail a/c directly at the site.

Sorry not a computer boff .

Why eventually do I gain access ? Scanned for Spyware but nothing found !
