I think that an anal chips would be a more interesting choice then a bracer, thai wont see at first sight that you a dumb farang, something that they would notice right away with the bracelet (unless you hide it)
-
The man will get a fair chance to defend himself in court.
Ok without judging what he did or not.
Come on, since when a farang can get a fair chance in a thai court against a Thai ?
-
A neutral analysis would be better then all those biased reports based on smearing for both side.
Yellows are not better then reds and the contrary.

Come on,
give me good reasons to go back to thailand...
Used to go often in the 90s, now i'm more thinking of cambodia.
But i see only degradation in the land of S... (replace the dots by what you want)

That's it? 1 000 000 THB? And this comes after the 5 000 000 USD (176 000 000 THB) reward that the US is offering for Massoud.....but getting Thaskin is probably safer.
Massoud.
Massoud is dead in september 2001.
Probably killed by a mutant comunist who betrayed his king

Of course! We all know how the media works. HEADLINES HEADLINE HEADLINES.
The point is that this is a TEXT based forum. THE TEXT DOESNT DISAPPEAR!
You can search for it for a long time. Thaivisa is also high rated in Google which means it many times comes up on the first page about things regarding Thailand.
I just call this making it all worse. This counrty really has a problem with how its viewed from people outside of Thailand these days.
THINK!
So this is hurting thailand.... Who created the view of thailand ? it's just created by their wonderful leaders.
Thailand doesn't need anyone to hurt itself. Stupid politician spiting on foreigners coming there and then they are surprised peoples are fed up.
I now rather go to cambodia or vietnam then to thailand, the land of smile has lost the smiling face for a long time now.
Make that stupid fight, kill a few of your youngster and you'll unite a big part of the country against the external enemies. Thai nationalist will hail the flag and the king (but the latest they all do).
A good trashing would be in orders for all those peoples in power to understand this shouldn't be a personal game. But at which cost ? Not their own...

I doubt the elections were real. if there can be fixed elections in USA then there can be in Thailand. The mistake was that the coup did not stay in place longer and ensure a real election.
'a coup' ensuring a a 'real election'
strange notion of democracy
They all have their own agendas, i never saw a non corrupted thai gvt. What we dislike with toxin is mostly the way he manages us the farang. Do you really care about the rest ?
No I'm not fan of toxic, just a fan of democracy
-
IMHO the military did a good job, they just acted like administrators where the management had to be removed.
The lesson is clear bad management and you will get a dose of the same medicine. The coup itself was very well run with no "colateral damage" to use the US term. Congratulation to all involved.
then the military should have take over USA a few years ago, i don't remember seeing such a bunch of corrupts liars and killers at such a scale for years.....
-
Well Toxin, despite all his dark side was regulary elected. We can't say the same about the military junta.
It's not up to us to decide wether the voters made the wrong or right decision.
I just hope that there will be a return of democracy in the land of smile.

I read that article in a french newspaper.
It seems there is a new law in preparation that would give full power to the head of the army and total immunity on what he does while he decides to take power.
Anyone of you head about it?
-
should be there.... lurking as usual
-
No, i don't give money to countries directed by a military junta dictatorship. ALthought that means i won't see familly or friends.
I think cambodia and vietnam or even philipinas are now a more interesting choice

killings of approx 2500 thai people
They were not only thais....
-
Thai's don't forget, but they do forgive.
hummm .....
are you that sure about that ?
what about Phimontham?
what about Pridi ?
We all know who they antagonised or a little search will tell you

The issue about "war on drug" was not only police killing civilians (innocent or not), also drug traffickers killing small drug dealers so nothing could reach them.
Exactly. At the end of the day, the drug flow was reduced marginally showing that many of those killed were actually smaller drug dealers being eliminated by bigger fish. Still, any slowing of the drug trade is a success.
Well at the end of the day, it's not that there was less drugs or that it was harder to get drugs
BUT
it was more expensive
and of better quality.
(according to friends of mine who used to use drugs

And I don't feel too sorry for all the drug dealers who were gunned down without a "fair trial"
If you want to deny Taksin exile in Western countries, do it because his government only gave a 3 YEAR AND 10 MONTH jail sentence to a Thai cop who savagely beat a Thai woman almost to death and pointed a gun at her farang companion and screamed "Now you die!".
Humm problem with that 'war against drug' were the side casualties. Peoples noticed how many peoples who were not into drugs but were not paying the police or influencial people their 'protection' taxes where simply killed or vanished and they were branded as drug trafickers.
Thaksin was as bad and as good as all previous Thai politician. I don't like him, yet he was legally elected, and is ousted like all the previous one who where against the king. Now england speaks about thaksin crime, but don't forget to clean your own house. How many dead can we impute to tatcher and blair ?....
