I lived next to the Saen Saeb and you see kids jumping in and swimming all the time. Also see people fishing
The water quality varies, it can go from a muddy brown to black. When it's black, you can smell it long before you see it. Most of the time the kids know when to jump in.
In this case, you can't really blame the boat operator. It's a narrow canal and extremely difficult to avoid someone dropping down on you. Evasive maneuvers could've meant tossing passengers overboard or slamming into the canal wall.
Optimal procedure would have been a warning sent out to the boats telling them to slow down in that area while having staff sent there to tell the kids to stop jumping off the bridge

You don't just drop dead from covid 19.
Plus I highly doubt thai medics have test kits that can tell the results immediately.
I'm frontline here with priority testing and it still takes at least a couple of days for results

Wonder if Thanathorn will be one of them.

Let's see, an epidemic that's verging in a pandemic.
Let's have thousands of people crowded together in close proximity, throwing water at each other.

Odds are the soldiers doing the guarding are conscripts. They probably will not go against the orders of a Sargent to move aside

One of the benefits of having security guards on the platforms. There is always someone there to hit the power cut when something like this happens.
Where I am, the system averages 27 attempts per year with about half of those being succesful.

"police having DNA evidence from sweat deposited at the scene"
You cannot get DNA from sweat.

What's the point of taking his DNA.
Unless the robber, bled, slobbered or left hair samples there is nothing to match to.

If there are bottles of Lao Khao strewn around, it ain't tourist. Not even Thai tourist!
It's locals, usually those that go around with their extremely noisy little bikes.

Any idea what was written on the undies?
I have to admit, I never learned to read Thai.

Death penalty in a country with corrupt and inept police force, a judiciary and politics.
Not a good idea

Start by having the driving test on the roads instead of a closed circuit.
If they break any of the rules..FAIL.

It's because it's expensive and filthy (not in a good way ????)
I'm currently in Cancun and the hotel zone is spotless, no trash at all. The beaches are groomed and again spotless. No plastic waste.bwalked from one end to the other both on the beach and on the road. No litter at all. Lots and of security even in the entertainment zones.
The Thai authorities need to get off their high horses and actually open their minds.
They talk about "big spending" tourist. Where I am staying in Cancun has 3 luxury malls one after the other. Let me tell you, there won't be 3 of them in a row if there is big spenders.

Last year we submitted a bid for a marketing contract to the TAT office where I am.
In it we detailed the challenges to the Tourism sector. One of them was Vietnam another was the over reliance on Chinese tourism and how the pivot east will affect other markets.
Needless to say it was a very short meeting.

Hello.
Not sure if this is the right forum but....
I have a Thai friend here in Toronto that needs to have his Thai documents translated to English and stamped.
Unfortunately the only person that can do that here is away on vacation.
So he is looking for a place that can do both the translation and get it stamped by the foreign ministry in Bangkok
He is asking his aged mother to help, so he wants to lessen the work; he wants to avoid her going to get the docs translated then going to queue at the ministry.
Any suggestions on a "one stop shop" where his mom can simply drop off the documents and pick them up later translated and officially stamped?
Thanks.
PS: translation is Thai to English (Canadian spellings).

Thank-you everyone for your input.
As the potential tenant is a farang + thai couple, I have translated a thai copy of the contract as well.
Note I still use the word "potential", after receiving the contract they are now dithering.
Not going to say over what until its all settled. lol it could be one of you guys

Thanks guys.
I am just nervous (actually its the missus) as this is my 1st tenant that have wanted to sign a 3 year lease.
Previous tenants were one year and one year followed by monthly ongoing. Previous tenants were also females (yes yes I know I am generalising)
Please have a look at the attachment and tell me what you think.
