  1. I volunteered at the temple. I DID see tigers being hit with sticks, rocks and fists. I left because of the abuse that was increasing daily. People who have only visited for a couple of hours don't see the real Tiger Temple. Most people who visit the temple are blinded to the abuse in the canyon by the opportunity to have close and personal photos with tigers. You maight be happy and comfortable at the temple, but the tigers are not.

  2. Hi there Greg,

My partner of 15 months, who is karen, was born and has lived all his life in Thailand. He speaks Thai fluently and only understands and speaks alittle of the Karen language. He has also had a 'letter of recomendation' for a Thai identity card for 18 months now and yet he is still waiting for the identity card, which will allows him to get a passport.

I think the chances of your girlfriend getting Thai citizenship are not very good. I'm sorry.

    Good luck.

  3. First of all. I'm sorry that my written english are not up to kiwi standards.

I have tried the UN and other agencies, however in my partner's situation they cannot help. He has a Provincial ID for Kanchanaburi but I have found a volunteer position in Chonburi. He can't legally come and stay with me. I will look into getting my TEFL certification and english teaching work but I'm unsure to Kanchanaburi will have a lot of teaching opportunities.

I'm not old enough to get a retirement visa.

Thank you to those that offered advice.

  4. Hey there,

I'm a new member so I would like to say "Hi" and give you details of my situation. Maybe someone can give me some advice.

In two weeks I've been with my man for one year and have known him for 18 months. We have tried everything to get him citizenship but to no avail. I have heard that if he had thai citizenship we could married and I could stay with him on a marriage visa. I have been home to NZ for 6 weeks but missed him to much. I love hima and want to stay with him but we can not do anything with his ID situation. We can't even legally get marry. Has anyone got any ideas on how we can stay together? I'm going into Thai Immigration to get more info on his id situation as he is in the system for citizenship but they keep saying he has to wait.

    ANY IDEAS PLEASE!!!! :o
