Thanks. If  they don't keep them, rather than going to the trouble of printing them out, maybe they would accept just seeing them on a camera screen.

You better treat my information the same way as information about how Immigration offices handle cases... not sure whether other police stations gather documents/photos the same way.

I would follow Richard Barrows recommendations, photo prints do not cost a fortune (I have been charged 5 Baht per print standard size).

    Hi Ular,

The photos of the drone that Richard said they required, is that hard copy photos ie on photographic paper ...?

I printed some photos and and glued them on a piece of paper, a memory stick would have been useless in my case, they have done everything manually, no computer was involved.
However they looked at the photos but returned the paper and the copy of my passport to me and just kept their own piece of paper of registration and my application form.

  3. I followed the instructions of Richard Barrow's mentioned paperwork and went to the local Police station of our Tamboon.

They were not able to do the registration process, I had to go the Amphoe in Wichian Buri.

Obviously I was the very first one showing up at the Police station with all the documents, hence they struggled a bit, last but not least I got my AC registered.

Not to mention it took a bit more time than Richard Barrow spent at NBTC office.

I have the two English versions and on page two of the drone reg form about midway down it has a line for insurance. At this point there is no mention of insurance being mandatory.  In the the US its optional. Same should apply here

The form from NBTC is slightly different from the one from CAAT, e.g. no insurance information and no operating locations required.

However I will go to the local police station next week once and will see how they can provide support in this matter (living up-country).

The form in Thai might have a better chance to be accepted.

Visited Switzerland last year and there an insurance was mandatory to operate my Phantom in case of all kind of damages caused by the drone.

I had no customs issues at that time neither at Suvarnaphumi nor at Zurich Airport.

  5. Found some pdf's ready to download on NBTC website, but they are only available in Thai.

The form to be completed with personal and drone information does not ask for an insurance policy number.

Lightroom on the other hand is designed for photos only

It is also available for videos, but not all buttons or sliders are available and of course no gradient filter, retouching tool etc.

I consider it too basic, not really useful for post processing a nice video.

I use Lightroom for almost all of my fotos since I shoot in RAW, Fotoshop only if I want to use layers.

    What is the cost?

Sorry for late reply, was abroad to see my family

The bird itself about 40'000 THB plus additional battery, plus Samsung Tab S2 for live view (works with Asus Zenfone 2 as well,  but need a larger screen to recognize all the telemetry data) and a back-bag for the bird... almost 60'000 THB.

Thanks for this information, need to go to Phitsanulok beginning of next week.

Hope Phetchabun will reopen soon, I'm tired to drive > 430 km simply to renew the extension of stay.

Phetchabun will also be much more convenient to apply for a re-entry permission.

  9. Anyone know where to hire/buy good fancy dress costumes in Bangkok? I'm not talking the coyote dancer / go-go type, just the normal type you'd get in the UK.

    Any help much appreciated! :-)

    Cheers xxx

Sorry if this is too late to help.

There's a costume hire place in Petchaburi Rd Soi 18, about 100-200m in on your left. Short walk from Phaya Thai BTS. If you're driving beware the soi is very small and its supposed to be 2-way. The place is on the bottom floor of a condo and looks like a laundry but you'll see the costumes hanging outside. Used them last year and was 500 baht per day with a 1,000 baht deposit per suit. Good luck!

Followed your description, was easy to find this place.

The shop still exists and costumes can be hired, open from 10 am to 10 pm, also have Facebook ..../prfancy

Actually I paid 800 THB for the costume and 2000 THB deposit.

Recommend to ask staff for help since it's very difficult to get an overview off all the available garments and accessories.
