I email to the immigration bureau Bangkok about the 800.000 bath i ask them about my 800.000 bath that is in a Thai bank i have 500.000 in a FIX account and 300.000 in a Saving account the answer from the immigration is NO PROBLEM that's is ok

Sorry for the delay, You can use both accounts. You have to show the

officer bank statements certifying that you have enough money. However

both bank accounts have to be Thai and under your name only.

Suppose you all know the feeling...... missing some odd things from your own country. Could be anything: friends & family, food, shops, weather - you name it. Don´t get me wrong - I love being in Thailand. But every now and then I feel completely fed up with the beer up here and start to feel this ´burning desire´ for some real beer - Belgian Beer in my case. Oh Great. I am planning to move to Thailand Oct. 1st. I had planned on using a tourist visa, as I have friends in Cambodia and will be spending some days there each month anyway. Now I must sort out the O visa, retirment visa. should I get the visa here in the US? Can I sort this out by Oct 1st? Should I come on the tourist visa, and attempt to sort it when I get there? Do I risk spending 90 days in Cambodia?

If I get a retirment visa here, can I renew it in Thailand?

You have to come in Thailand with a non immigrant visa then you go to the immigration to ask for a retirement visa and show that you have 800.000 bath on a thai account bank and show that the money come from your country which have to be bank to bank you can use that account but you need to show next year that you still have 800.000 bath on that account and you need to show your bankbook + a atest from that bank an a medical atest.

Right that will be the way ,TRAIN the BUSDRIVERS BECAUSE they drive same they drive a SPORTCAR change from line and 50 futher they have to stop on a busstop and why not one busline where any BUS can't go out

I have no sympathy for overstayers but the gouvernement go to far they are on the way to distroy all ,when a foreiner stay in Thailand he spend a lot every day and that is positif for Thailand most of the foreiners spent his money from abroad ,please we are no MILKCOWS and we have not a tree with Dollars VISA 1900 Bath and so on

I'm Belgian and when i see the price to buy a house or condo in Thailand with walls from 5 cm no isoled poor electric installation the working people with a low salary etc etc ,I dont see why the prices are about the same than Europe where the working people salary 8 times more the taxes and more quality etc etc ...

Do i have to understand that i have to tranfert EVERY YEAR the amount of 800,000 Bath Bank to Bank?

I'm retired 62 years old and get a retired visa for more than 5 years.

Last mounth i go to the immigration to ask for a permenant visa but they told that the retired category have been removed.

I read the story from michaelr that he get the same information from the immigration bureau.

I read the information answer from Mister george That this information is complely wrong en that a a retired permenant visa can be aplied.

So it's very difficult for a foreigner that situation and i don't know where to go...

Hope very hard to received a right answer where i have to go to aply for a permenant visa.
