  1. My wife has recently bought a 2 rai plot for gardening and has just had a contractor complete fencing to the whole plot. We’re looking for some plants/hedges that will fill the perimeter creating some privacy but we haven’t got a clue where to start in terms of types of plants. Any recommendations would be much appreciated. guemlum
  2. The last time I used the services of the MOFA was back in 2009 when we got married. Things were slightly different back then. The company you recommended to me, I have also used in the past. Great service from them. I've spoken with them already and as I'm in the UK right now, they assure me that they can sort this all out on my behalf (obviously at a cost), and then post the documents to our home in Thailand. 3. An update on my original post...my wife had her British Citizenship Ceremony back in May this year. The home office letter stated she could take 2 guests to her ceremony, however, when booking her ceremony our local mayor's office said she couldn't take any as their fire risk assessment didn't take into consideration, extra guests. We attended the ceremony but it wasn't the joyous occasion it should have been, so we wrote to our local MP who arranged for us to attend a further ceremony in August, along with the guests she was entitled to. If anyone's local council offices come up with the same excuse, contact your MP. You've paid for guests as part of your application, and no one should be denied the opportunity to have their loved ones on this special day. Private ceremony or not. Guemlum
  4. Yes, she can legalise documents but in this instance and after checking with her, this is not one she can assist with as it has to be done via the FCDO office.
  5. Painful. My neighbour can legalise the documents so hoping this will speed things up. Anyway, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Guemlum
  6. I can imagine that took some time. I'm in the UK now and hoping things can be done slightly quicker.
  7. Thanks. Do you remember how long the process took from start to finish?
  8. English, and thanks for the info. Who in MK legalised it as I'm fairly local to MK?
  9. Does anyone know the procedure and requirements for getting a birth certificate translated from English to Thai? This is to obtain a Yellow Tabien Baan which has been requested by our local Amphur. Guemlum
  10. I will be extending my stay in Thailand by one month. I have a policy from the UK already and have contacted them to see if they will extend the policy but they can't and won't as most policies have to start and end in the UK. Is there anything I can buy here for a short duration, to cover me in the event of any unforeseen circumstances? Regards Guemlum
  11. Hi brewsterbudgen, It certainly does and time has flown by very quickly. She even passed the LITUK test on her first attempt. I'm still trying to pass the online mock test!!
  12. My wife was just granted indefinite leave to remain and the decision only took 2.5 months. We were very impressed with the turnaround time. Does anyone know how long British Citizenship applications are currently taking? We have the application and all supporting documents ready. Regards Guemlum
