  1. I am a expert, I am a expert.

Let me see, let me see, yes, close the street light in the daytime. Remember to turn it on in night time, then you save some human resurses. They are expensive - human resources - in a well manages country. And paint the lane on the road, cheap way to save more human recourse. Just make sure there is a very competent mand/women they decide what and where to paint on the road.

Do those 2 things and the country was on the right path in saving money on electric and healt care bill

  2. That is the difference in our culture compare to Asian culture.

We are not suppose to lie and it will be a huge scandal if it come out in the media. (The free media)

Ok, we are the best when it come to corruption, I mean, we are not good to do it. Just not show the Tibetan flag when khon China visit Denmark to sign business contract to 3 billion US$.

How many meter elastic you want sir.

Ok, just making fun with the best country in the world. Denmark is a great country, no doubt about that. But...

  3. Notice how no info about costs or when this project was approved. It makes me wonder if when this info finally does come to light just how much corruption is involved. I hope their was none and costs are not overly exaggerated. But I have yet to see this not happen in thailand

Denmark has the least corruption in the world. Source http://www.transparency.org/cpi2014/results

Im from Denmark and i can say if vestas is found doing corruption they will die as a company.

I am Denise to and have stock in vestas. I don't think you are right in that statement. How can Mærsk and otter Big denish Company svimming so god the most corrupt places in the world without paying corruption tax?

Like Bjarne Ris was winning tour the France without doping?

Remember it is not long time ago Denish company got tax deduct from corruption payd on the Danish tax bills...

Remember, when you are in Rome, do like the Romans.

  4. There is only on way to remove black money in a contry. All money you can not show tax bill of is not legal money. Simple like that. No value without tax bill. No car. No house. No gold. No summer house. No land.

I know Thai hide money in others family members name, but no tax bill to prove money is made legal,

    No money.

Starting now, prove we're all your money, car, houses and land come into your and your family's hands. Can not, sorry the contry clean the table.

Nothing will change before control of wealth.

    Start to clean the table.

But I know, TIT and it will never happend, you know, Falange not understand and thaines. Bla, Bla, Bla

I am happy my littel girl have my contrys passport also.

  5. The tunnel will take 810 days to finish, it has been reported in oktober and the start of the project was to be in dec. 2014.....

And beach road in jomtien was plan to be a one way road, but the plan was chance 2-3 days after I was announced in the media to not be a one way road....

Now the tunnel will start in January 2015, and it will finis in 810 days....

    And what was the budget?

Good luck to all of us.

  6. We go School that Way every Day, it Will be the worst dead trap the next 5 year. My wife say, we go motorbike then. It will be a dead trap to people on MC! Special the Pattaya side of the rail-road, it is about 3 meter more narrow then the other side and the road don't have any pavement!

Thai government have to put trafick light to work and take out the car that not respect the light. Ther is camera on all interception. It is the same people that go on the road every day, youse police to pick out the bad drivers. Fine, fine, fine, we take driver license, we take car. Until the trafick light work, until speed come down on 50 km/hour as the road is built to. Today car is driving up to 80 km/hour. (I am no engel my self)

But, God luck to all of us.

  7. Mr. Dirk; yes; I am having the very same problem and have been getting increasingly 'cheesed-off' at the TOT; but then again - what can we do about it ? ? ? When my Thai (much) better-half calls them, they recognize her voice and remember her name . . . . . . . Useless outfit ! ! !

Same problem here, get cheesed-off all the time here in naa- jomtien. Had tot out and tjek everything. They not find any problem and told me to go swits moden, first they tell me, my modem to 2300 thb is no good and had top model to sell. But have been working good more then 1 month with my timecapsel from Appel that can give the same speed as top model tot offer, anyway. We go an swift modem today and tot give new moden, lifetime warrent, haha, I have them 7 year now and is on my 2 modem with lifetime warrent, at least I know what lifetime is, to they get new modem.

Same problem, I don't think they will admit to have a problem.

Had the problem now over 7 days and don't think it help to do more at the moment, just get a new company or let be. Maybe it will go away by it self.

TOT have some problem like you say.

  8. 1. The problem is the railroad company do not cut down trees and bushes WHERE THE NEED to cut down.

    2. Selfish people just hanging up posters blocking free look when crossing the railroad. (<deleted> selfish stupid people)

My wife tell me railroad company take the dead truck driver's insurance to court and want compensation, think if the where taking to court themselves, I mean, a real court.

Is it not funny with all the train accident here with all the rain falling?

  9. I look to my own daughter at 2 years.

    Here are my ideas.

Open a U.S. mail address where you can pick up and send in a box with many different mailings so the price of packages can be kept low and with many types of shipments.

Lego is on many products 300% more expensive in Thailand so it should be able to cover transport and customs.

I myself have just bought a mint-5200c from hong kong to a gross overcharge which ended up costing me 580 usd. It can be purchased via U.S. mail address 349 minus 7% vat + shipping and vat here in thailand (I paid 417 THB in vat from hong kong)

I had forgotten the trick with usmail address ;(

Pleace, if some know a good company to mail address from usa it can savers my time reading and find the right company.

It is an idea for many consumer purchases since many products are not sufficient and not priced sharp enough here in Thailand. SUM-NAM-NA

  10. remember to get papier legalized again at your Embassy or Consulate (here in Thailand) when Thai authorities have legalized them here in thailand.

and remember to check out everything after they have been translated - for errors, ID number, names, etc. - it's easier just to correct the translation then have to edit a legalized paper. (if at all possible)

if you are married, or your wife name was changed name 2 times the same day you married her, you might as well get all papers done at once.

My Consulat 1000 thb in service fee to legalize, per case. (if there is 1 or 20 paper)

If you go 20 times, it costs 20,000 thb

    Good luck2you

  11. See your home country's embassy website on how to legalize papers here in Thailand.

Tips for the translation of the document:

they can translate inside bangkok on www.mfa.go.th

They are dual if the translation if it is done the same day. half price if you come and deliver and pick 1-2 days after.

If you make the translation from home they can find wrong they can fix, so it is not cheaper. (you pay to fix errors)

But the most important - if your child has not been translated his name before you can tell how it should be translated into your home language

    and

You can pay a small fee and then sends the papier when they finish to legalize them so you should not run into to bangkok again.

I was in Bangkok many times. It has been a costly and time consuming process...

    Good luck

  12. Here is the interesting comment in the local paper

There was an interesting comment in the local paper the other day. It was from the boss of a Land Office; Pattaya, I think.

He basically said he had no problem with a foreign-controlled fake nominee shell company selling land. But he was deafeningly silent on the subject of one buying land.

My personal opinion is that any farang who attempts to do anything at all related to owning land here is a complete idiot. It seems pretty clear to me that the Thai government does not want foreigners owning land and, if they did, they would simply remove some or all of the obstacles. I see no sign of this happening. On the contrary, I would say that the signs are there of them tightening up on the problem.

I think that the same applies to the Thai quota of condo units also.

Not a problem at all as far as I'm concerned, as I would never even think about buying land here, at any price, unless they change the rules first.

  13. Dual pricing is disgusting.

Private hospital Practicing Dual pricing is Deeply disgusting.

Unfortunately, it is widely accepted among Thais. They use the comparison between what our currency is worth and what the Thai baht's worth.

You get more money when you exchange your money.

They are well aware it does not look so good and do not want it to light. We shall pay any dual pricing without noticing it, so they do not lose face.

    Shh .....

  14. yes I have experienced the same at Memorial Hospital. hospital fee 130 THB for Thai 150 thb to Falange. (it seems to be standard)

I went to skin doctor at Memorial Hospital and was charged 700 thb in doctorate fee, 14 days after my wife went to skin doctor at Memorial Hospital and was charged 250 thb in doctoral fee. Yes there is dual pricing at Memorial Hospital. It's ok thai gets 50% in public hospitals as a doctor so well put it to my friend who went to Queen's hospital which is state owned (it's their tax money is not ours)

But that private hospitals practicing Dual pricing is deeply disgusting. I've also thought about what it means for health insurance and what they are worth? Could there be traded with Falange and their health insurance, hospitals and insurance between. 2 bills, an OFFICIAL and the real price?

  15. It is very simple.

1st Thai Government must have tuition plans from the schools.

2nd Teachers must be trained to teach in the subject.

3rd Students must have 80% compulsory attendance to continue study.

If students do not perform the test at the end of the school year, they must repeat the school year. Like it is in a normal skolesystem.

We do not send student down to rector for a spanking, do we. Although the female boss of imigration attracts me like Ilse did on film in the 70s.

It's not child's fault they do not learn anything as long as they follows the tuition plans from the schools.

If there are too many who miss the test there must be something wrong with the school's way of teaching or tuition plan.

Do not beat students over the head because they do not learn anything, but turn to the schools instead. This would be done in most countries, I think ...

But I am unfortunately also realistic about the 1000 thb under the table and everyone gets a slice of cake ...

The big fish eat the small fish...

But remember there will always be a bigger fish out there...

  16. http://pattaya-times.com/a7347-new-major-visa-requirements-education-ed-visas-holders-must-attend-classes

It sounds very dramatic, especially - “Now any school found to be selling the Education visa simply to allow the foreigner to stay in Thailand and not attending the school will be closed down and lose their license. All of the school’s students, whether attending or not, will have their visas cancelled,” the representative of the Ministry of Education stated.

But you must of course attend if you have a student visa. It is up to the Thailand Ministry of Education to check the schools - not students - that students learn something. Thai is difficult.

I have read in 3 years and doubt I would pass the test down on imigration office. I go to tunnel-mode when they talk Thai to me on imigration office. .

  17. I am very sorry to hear.

I myself am a student at Khun Oh and wish her and Khun Pae all the best to move on in life after the accident.

How serious it is, I can not understand from your text, Khun Oh do not take her phone, so if they are in hospital you may write where they are located so I can visit them.

Unfortunately, what you describe is very normal in traffic down here and you must develop an instinct to anticipate such acts from those riders. (and be lucky too)

Dear Khun Oh and Khun Pae, I hope you have only got some bruises and can live a normal life again. Good luck with getting your life as best as possible back.I am sending an angel with flowers.Life is always worth fighting for ...

    Best regards

  18. You must remember many of those who teases have expensive apartments. They want to create the impression that rents should cost more here, than in cities in countries where wages are 5 to 10 times higher. how could normal people otherwise on normal salaries live in Pattaya?

Udomsuk Apartment right in the middle of this link has room for 3500 THB per month. State nature is perfect and no slums. House about 5 years old and run by okay fair people, you just rent space only with fan, but there are good winds and 10 min to everything on mc. There are probably 1 to 2 month deposit which you will get the majority back off.

but otherwise it is hard to come by train for 2 weeks and find the right prices, it's a tourist town.

PS Here is another link: http://pattaya.thaiapartments.net/index.php?os=2&favorite=14&lan=en

Good luck and do not pay the poor amateur real estate investors any attention:)

  19. <br />
    <br />
    <br />
<br />I went up CHAIYAPRUK yesterday and I found the area to be quite nice. Lower end of the Street had everything you would need. I didnt see any foreigners down around the restaurants though. I didn't bother going in and ask At Silk Road as it looked very expensive. How much are a house in there?<br /><br />Also what is that big building a little further up on the opposite side of the road and  a couple of hundred metres  in?<br />
<br /><br />I believe Silk Road is around 12MM and higher.  But a nice community.  Baan Balina 2 starts around 6MM or so...and I have heard there is a  BB 3 coming shortly.<br />
<br /><br />I see signs up today - new model of house in Silk Road - from 3.8M.<br />
<br /><br />Must be a different place or some very wrong information.  Here is the link for the development:<br /><a href='http://www.silkroadpattaya.com/en/' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'>http://www.silkroadpattaya.com/en/</a><br /><br /><br />And here is a link for a place selling one now.  Asking Price is 12.1MM.<br /><a href='http://seaboard-properties.com/?page=property&id=1859' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'>http://seaboard-prop...roperty&id=1859</a><br /><br />I was there a few weeks ago just looking.  I got the prices and saw what places were up for sale.  The prices on their sales sheet start around 12MM and go up from there.  Quite a nice development.  Lots of security.  One of the better developments I have seen.<br />
    <br /><br /><br />

And here is the prislist from the developer: http://www.silkroadpattaya.com/en/index.php/update-price-list
