  1. New Cowboy Bar on Sukhumvit 22, just 100 meters past Queen's Park Hotel. Food

Lucy's Tiger Den was the best for years, but that was a very long time ago.

Jools was okay, but I haven't been there in years either. Passed (walking) by Jools last week, but had just pigged out at Victoria's on Soi 7. Looked slow.

  2. the park is a good choice.

they don't advertise because david thinks that the higher end market needs personalised sales service, hence viewing by appointments only.

based on today's grade A rates you are looking at about 600 psm which should generate about 7.3% gross, not too bad. my feel is that you won't get capital upside this cycle, but you are okay for the medium to long term.

its true that inventory will be high by the time this completes, but some good grade A's are very resilient and continue to enjoy 100% occupancy with a waiting list for rental, particularly those around lang suan, somkid and chidlom (but strangely not wireless). you can do your own survey to verify this. the reason is because you can count the number of units coming up in the ploenchit part of town, very few compared to other areas like sukhumvit. ploenchit land is becoming more scarce and there wont be much left. think long term, observe what is happening around central world plaza, central chidlom, siam paragon, erawan with all the skylinks, and you get an idea of what you have just bought into.

David N. :o is out to lunch, that is why you have to make an appointment.

  3. Boeing built a 747-300 High Density aircraft 555 Eco and 25 Biz Class configuration. That excludes the Crew seating. Isn't that big enough? The Japanese demanded a 747-400 which could carry more than 600 Pax. They just chnage the avionics and do a few upgrades, airframe work, better engines and the A380 would be history. Might already be.

By the way, Lockheed is one of the largest suppliers of equipment to Airbus for the A380 and A330 Tanker programs amoung others.

I love the 747s, 777s and A340s and A330-200. Both manufactures have great planes. Both have problems. I remember that a British Airways flight in Bangkok was the first incident ( not accident Narobi got that) for the newly launched 747-400. Guess Bangkok gives all the aircraft makers a challenge.

Bet the A380 Sn 02, Director Flight Ops and Capt are in a bit of trouble from the VP Operations. 1 hour repair, VIP flight, Asian Aerospace tomorrow. Will the plane even make it to Hong Kong?.

Happy flying! Watchout for airport buses and airport structures.

  5. There was a case 10 years ago or more that involved "Som Tum" and a few deaths. A family with a farang father, Thai wife and kids who were murdered by the farang father after eating Som Tum with the boo dum ( crab). The judge found that there was evidence backing a virus or bacteria in the crab that caused him to go insane and murder his family. It was told to me by a judge. I have never seen an article about it. I know there is little similarity, but the virus or bacteria could kill others. Also it is highly possible that it was more than Som Tum that did him in.

  6. A friend of mine contacted me Sat to see a Thai bi-lingual school that is for sale or JV. I don't know so much about the subject, but went to see the campus. Very nice school with 400+ students from kindergarten through 6th grade. They plan to open Secondary levels very soon. Does anyone know of a good partner to help expand the school and brand it with an int'l program for secondary or even to college levels? Any directions or help would be very nice.

I see Harrow, Regent, etc... Sure there are others that would be keen to enter the market.

  7. Make a list and see what you think sounds good. I decided to use english names and then the Thais just make it sound Thai with their accents.

Long and hard process, but make a list and work through it for a combination.

Also agree with an earlier poster keep -porn in any form out of the name.
