  1. Is the Walen school responsible for the changing visa rules in Thailand? Sure they offer a 1 year ED Visa.

What do you get? A 3 month visa which you can extend 3 times. I think that's 1 year. The walen school never confirmed to take over all Visa fees. The only thing is that you shouldn't pat 29.500 bht at once, but in 4 parts.

I didn't start the school right now, but they have shown how to take care their clients. I went to Savannakhet to apply for the ED Visa. They denied because I only got a copy of the letter MOE. The Ministry of Education confirmed that they are not able to handle the original. So Mac Walen and his team fighted with the Consulate in Savannakhet and the Immigration Bureau in Bangkok.

Unfortunately these institutes don't work together. After a 3 hours fight the only solution was an advice side of the immigration to go to the Embassy and avoid Savannakhet.

And you complain an additional amount of 5.700 bht = 634 bht/month

A thanks to Mac Walen and his team.

  2. Well I just have arrived from Savannakhet by Jack Golf.

First of all I would every time use Jack Golf. The stuff is very helpful ...and Gift has returned. :D

6.600 bht sounds a lot, but don't forget (travelling, Laos and Thaivisa, accommodation, meals and trips through Savannakhet are included, don't forget all the service)

But the consulate a big bull shit. I went there to get an ED visa. I had all papers and documents which were necessary. Only the letter of the ministry of education was in copy, because there were 7 people included and not everyone could get an original letter clearly. They avoided to give the ED visa, but touristvisa. They have told me to get the ED visa at the immigration in Bangkok is no problem. The immigration told me no, you have to apply abroad. End of the story bullshit... and the stupid farang have to bear all additional costs.

I know a lot of people who had similar problems

Please be aware that Savannakhet also issue only 2 tourist visas per year.

To everybody good luck if you go there, I will go to Vientiane again :o

  3. Sorry, no the agency (since several years and offers visa runs to Cambodia and Laos) has told.

You only can do TV 2 times a year. That means.

    TV 60 days + extend 30 days = 90 days

3 times visa run for 30 days = 90 days

    and again

    TV 60 days + extend 30 days = 90 days

3 times visa run for 30 days = 90 days

So you only can stay 1 year in Thailand.

You also could do 2 TV's in one row, after that only 3*30 days. Then you have to leave Thailand for 90 days and can start again.

    Now I am very confused

  4. Got a link for a map for you if you using your own transport then travelling from Korat (Ratchassima) there is a big Youth custody or Criminal court on the left you cant ,miss it . I would say 30 clicks from Buriram town 'Tongue in cheek'

Had a nice 18 hours trip to Buri Ram und visited the youth custody. Heavy rain to Buri Ram. 5 hours at the custody. 2 hours in Buri Ram and 6 hours back by heavy rain (no more again)

  6. Hi Guys,

next week I have to go to the Child Custody in Buri Ram.

Address is Prakonchai Rd Sub District Samet.

Does anybody know how far it is from Mueang Buri Ram? Maybe any descrition how to go there?

    Thanks for your help

  7. Oh, and if you want a source of good lesson plans I would buy the Let's Go 1 teacher book - this has activities and work for an appropriate level - although you may have to be patient with 5 year olds. The Let's Go book has the best lesson plans that I have ever found for children in a teacher's book.

    Good Luck!

Do you know where i could buy that book in Bangkok? And do use the student's book too?

There is a big bookshop close to the Democracy Monument (nearby Mc Donald) At 2 floors you'll get a lot of things (books, tapes, CDs, flashcards, posters and many more).

  8. Thanks lopburi3,

I think it's quite the same if I extend my visa directly for 1.900 bht at the immigration office , or using a visarun agency for 2.000 bht and spend 1 day i.e. in Cambodia. I only want get to know if there are any experiences or problems.

Unfortunately I heard (by a travel agency) about the new rule and only 2 touristvisas/ year. It would be gigantic if it's wrong.

  9. @ all,

right now I have a serious problem. Since several weeks I am divorced from my Thaiwife and I only can stay in Thailand using a touristvisa. I have some needful questions.

    • How to extend a tourist visa by Immigration or visarun (Fees are quite the same)?
    • I heard there only is a possibility of 2 touristvisas per year. How it is possible to stay for 1 year?

If there are any suggestions of your side I would be glad to get to know them.

thanks for your help in advance
