What, for an extension? Since when have you not had to submit bank letter and book? Or are you taking about the 90 day report?
You are right, there is more necessary for the extention, and you get it next day.
I misunderstood the thread.

They need only your passport, not even you yourself. The last three times my wife did it for me.

When you have a reason, you get your extention earlier. For instance, when I have a visa until July and want to go outside in May, I will get my extention in May.

What I tell you now, you may not believe, but it is the truth:
I payed one year premier in the Central Road Pattaya office (Carrefour) in May, to have a good connection, when I would come back from a three month journey to Europe. Coming back I found two bills about the last months and a message on my monitor, that my username had expired. The "service" number 1530 did not help, but told me, I had to go to the office. In the office they declared me, that the username had not expired, but gave me a new set of username and password. The next day I found the message on the monitor as a warning, that I had to pay the bills. My wife went to the office and I sent E-Mails to the company. She was told, no problem, there is nothing. The first and only answer to many E-Mails in the following time was, that they asked for the data from my oneyear internet premier connection. I sent the copy of the bill and heard never again from this company. The only way, they "communicated" with me, was the message on the monitor every two days, that I had to pay the bills. I went to the other office in Central Festival 2nd. road, to get the confimation, that nothing was wrong. At home I got the message, that I had to pay the bills. This now runs nearly one month. The last two days the "service" is dead anyway. so there are no warnings. I write this over the Friendship hotspot.

Make them laugh. I made the experience, that Indians like it. Don't be angry or too serious.
Anyway, you are in a country, where bargaining is allowed.

The Germans have to have the marriage document legislated at the embassy.
The owned land by a farangs wife has to be sold one year after her death.
Ok., that will not happen too often, that she dies earlier.

Myself and my wife plan on going back to the UK for a few weeks at the end of August. We've been a few times before on holiday but this time we're thinking about registering our marriage there, rather than Thailand (we've only had the church and temple do's in BKK so far).
Are there any advantages towards registering there rather than here in Thailand? We're not worried about immigration issues right now as we currently have no plans to settle back there.
Thanks for the feedback!
- if you're fully married and have your certificate in Thailand ..
They aren't.

Outlook2000 does not work with Vista, Outlook 2003 works well. After installation look for the file outlook.pst and delete it, as long as you have XP or 98 with Outlook (any Outllok) still installed. When you start Outlook, it will ask you for the file outlook.pst. You link to your old file and will have all data from before with all dddresses and so on. This works from Windows 98 to Vista. The outlook.pst file, that you useg with Windows 98 or XP works still fine with Vista.

Up to you.I asked the officer at table 8 of Jomtien Immigration, whether the regulations for aFarang married to a Thai wife had changed or not.
I don't see any mention of retirement in the above conversation. The rules for marriage extensions have changed and now only 40k family income is accepted for new applicants rather then the choice of 400k/40k. Believe she was probably referring to that.
-
And you heard this where? From who? And the exact wording was? What was the question that got this response?
I do not believe it at all and would like to understand how this understanding you have came about. Was this told directly to you? Thanks.
I wrote Thai immigration. I got my passport back today with an extension for one year.
I asked the officer at table 8 of Jomtien Immigration, whether the regulations for a
Farang married to a Thai wife had changed or not. He told me, in the future - according
to new regulations - these extensions were only given, if the applicant had a workpermit.
So there are two main changes: this one and the new regulation, to renew the paper from
the embassy about your pension every year again.

Information from Jomtien Immigration (today):
Extentions of Retirement Visas are not longer given for people married with Thai nationals.
You need a workpermit to get an extention on this basis.

My wife just saw this. "Maybe father of her child?"
