  1. I realise this is a duplicate topic and apologies didnt see the other one.............however the other topic is useless so maybe this might hit the spot - is there a decent international English curriculum school in Hua Hin and if not does that indicate HH is a place for old golf-fartz as everyone says?

PeaceBlondie, I will stick to topic.

No International School's in Hua Hin, Hua Hin has some fantastic Golf Spot's.

Believe you seem to know as you have answered your own question.

  2. Whoah young man.

You say you met the lady recently , she worked as a bar girl and you put the word "marry" in your post.

Us men have two brains which cannot function concurrently.

Most of us have been there , bought the tee shirt and thrown it away already.

Take it reasonably slowly. Spend time together (preferably out of a tourist area).

Bring her for a holiday to Ireland (if you can get her a visa).

Marry her when your head tells you , not your willy.

Good luck son , you may need it.

    gold1.jpg

ignore the wise words above , at your peril .

This is about it son, if it run's out so will she.

  3. Hi

You said she was from Hua Hin, bet you got some crap advice from the half wits that live there. The Ex Pats that live there are all f#*k"@ up, they spend most of their spare time slagging each other off.

I play golf down their in Hua Hin, stay in the Hotels at night, if you venture out and meet the Ex-Pat's, when one leave's the other's slag him off.

    Nasty little people.

  4. Plenty of legal foreigners here. Sure, (likely) plenty more illegal ones. Big deal. If you're simply curious as to who they are... just log on to TV and checkout who all is whinging when they periodically tighten the visa nooses or complicate the various immigration related hoops.

    :o

Yes I agree, step in the right direction, HOPE THEY TIGHTEN THEM (v0sa Regs) EVEN MORE.

99% of the Thai's are working or running their businesses illegally and not paying taxes. Why should I? I just run mine through my GF. Thailand is the biggest group of smiling, freeloading hustlers I've ever seen.

Because its their (Thais) Country, bet you are the first to have ago at foriegner's working in your Country or taking house's ahead of your mates.

This post is probably aimed at people like you, here on a Holiday Visa hiding behind the first Bar Girl you meet because you cannot sort out your life, therefore undercutting an honest business, foriegner with WP and Bus Visa paying into the system.

    Tighten up the VISA REGS.

  5. Living in Thailand for 3 years, I experienced an attitude about Farangs.

It even made me aware of the meaning of the term 'farang' in most cases.

I summed it up as this: Anyone that isn't Thai is basically a second class citizen.

After all, they consider it 'their country'. You will feel this either quickly or slowly.

If you want to feel it quickly, display anger or demand someone speak English.

If you want the slow burn... be polite but demand Financial equality. You pay the same as your Thai friends, wife, family, etc.

Having said that, most problems a foreigner in Thailand has, they bring on themselves.

Many people live in Thailand understanding and accepting the money game and have made peace with it. Only my opinion. Let's see what others think...

Since a few weeks, I see in other sub-forums people speaking about anti-farangs attitude improving in Thailand.

What is your idea about it? Do you feel that also around Chiang Rai? Did you had experience?

Thank you to give us your feeling. Being in Europe fr the moment we (me and my Thai wife) would like to know.

Imagine that. Thais considering Thailand to be 'their country' :o

If a Thai was in the UK displaying anger and demanding someone speak Thai, there is a good chance that they would also quickly experience some 'attitude'.

In my 3 short years here, I have found that if you treat Thais respectfully (that doesn't mean you have to be subservient) they will reciprocate, most of the time. If you act like a kn*bhead, well, then you get what you deserve.

Well it is their Country, thats about it, we are guests here, they can have as much attitude as they like, if you dont like then leave.

In their defence I think they handle it well, imagine if you were in your Country and a Thai walked into your local entertainment venue or into a shop knowing he could take almost any female for some hanky panky within 5 mins for the price or a round, how would you feel?

    :D:D:D

  6. just keep paying, the cash cow lives.

    You won't, should we meet.

Apologies to the latest posters here.

Hey Fool, you here yet or still in blighty sending money over?

How much has she cost you so far? Plane tickets, Visa (refusal still married), Gold, Motorbike and money sent over?

Planned your Taxi ride from the new Airport to BKK so you can stop off and buy some more Gold? he he.

Let me know when you arrive, love to have a laugh with fools just off the Bannana Boat. How long before you have your brain re-installed?

    :D:o:D

  7. I don't think that the bar owner can get a work permit. :o:D

As long as he meets the qualifications he can. Requires a Non-immigrant B visa and a minimum of 4 Thai employees.

Yes, there are bar owners in both camps.

I know several who have perfectly legal B-visas and work permits that allow them to manage their bars/pubs/guesthouses.

I know other owners without work permits who scrupulously do nothing more than enjoy a beer at the bar or read a newspaper, they will not even pick up a glass that isn't the one they are drinking from.

None of them have pompems, they know the rules and they play by them.

Have been asked about my Visa and WP, I have these for Malaysia not Thailand, we have similar problems with foriegners working illegaly here also but not on such a blatant scale.

If you are the owner of the Bar (foriegner) and you are in the Bar then you are working, are you telling me that you sit drinking in your Bar from 1600hrs to midnight and you do not change money, count money, pay a bill or tell a member of staff to do something in all that time. Its illegal, get the correct papers or leave.

  8. they are called keyboard warriors, the people who launch attacks on the net are generaly 50kg weaklings who wouldn't say boo to a goose in real life.

Still wind's me up though, always seem's to be the English. I am Canadian but my Grand Parent's emigrated from England about 35 years ago. I asked them about it over the phone, they agreed the English are very envious of people that have done something to better themselve's.

'Ollie' wants to be in Thailand after his holiday romance, and after he has dished out the money i.e Visa's for Thai girl and child, motorbike and sinsod he he, but is stuck in England paying the mortgage while working hard in a factory.

  9. Is it an English thing or can it be true for all natonalitie's regarding heated discussion's on forum's?

Currently a posting entitled "Immigration Enforce The Law, NO BAD FARANG ALLOWED IN HUA HIN" is underway with some great posting's but also some personal attacks.

One in particular from an 'Ollie" is directed at me, this postee is living in England and pretend's to know me which is absolutely not the case.

The discussion is basically about foriegner's working illegally in Thailand, he is ranting about me and a couple of other postee's knowing each other, another site and my business. My business is in K L, Malaysia. Doubt he has even been there (no fund's as he give's his limited monie's to his Thai wife and her family), sorry could not resist it.

    The mind boggle's.

Why do so many take thing's written on Forum's so personally????? :D:o:D

  10. or, as previously suggested, marry an orphan ? LOL Or a previously married lady, or a low life, or one with a kid. Negates the Sin Sot obligation whistling.gif

Just read this, sucker off plane, leave brain at customs during holiday, holiday over, apply for visa with handsome man.

Married before sinsod already paid, not required again.

Atleast the British Tax payer is not paying for her or her child after a holiday romance.

  11. I can't see how hard working people or honest business operators should be classified as bad "Farang." It's wrong policy! These people are productive immigrants.

They're taking away jobs that belong to Thais. That's how the Thais see it. Whine all you want, but that's what matters, if you live here.

Don't tell me about them creating additional employment for Thais either. Since they themselves are illegal, the farang-bosses would have no qualms about employing Thais outside the system as well (cash salary, no accounting, thus no taxes etc.) which equally angers the authorities. Or, they simply employ other illegal immigrants as well.

Get legal or get out. Your basic motivation to work illegally is personal greed. It makes a bad name for the rest of us who work with a permit, a B-visa, and pay our income taxes to the Thai government.

This is spot on, the Thai's deserve better respect, I have a Work Permit which allows me to do certain thing's, has restrictions and I respect this.

Many foriegner's here working illegaly, kick them out. :o:D:D

  12. The other site mentioned is awfull, its made up of about 7 moderators 15 sponsors 10 ex pats and 10 postee's. If you upset one they ban you, the above can say and do the same but nothing happens. They are all backstabbing the local's, just bar and bar girl talk or silly competitions about bar names.

There are orphaned children that need help here in this Country, the orphanage's are run by Thai's so do not have the expense of keeping a farrang and her family on her mission with dog's.

Do you have a WP and Visa???

  13. Many cowboy builders here in Hua Hin, the majority do not have the correct visa or work permit, use ex bar girls as a front. The majority have marriage or retirement visa's.

Finding it hard now since the annoucement concerning Land Purchase.

Find a Thai builder, its the same as the farrang will use without adding his bit, the farrang builder has never bult anything untill he came here.

  14. Great News

About time they did this, I have a work permit which is an overhead, all foriegners working here should have the same.

If the bar owner is in his bar he is working he requires a work permit. The stupid fool has probably put the bar in his (wife/girlfriend) ex Bar Girls name to avoid the paper chase and overheads. The Bar owner probably has prostitutes in his bar which is illegal also.

Same for some of the local builders, here without the correct Visa's and Work permits

    Kick them out.

  15. Hi

Agree with a previous post, I have been to Hua Hin now for 4 visits in the last 3 years, great golf, great course's, thats about it. If you are going for the night life you will be disappointed, if you are single then take your own girlie.

Strange how the Ex Pats bleat about having the best prossie's in their town, its not true here, you only have to see the Expats wondering around here with their ex Bar Girls to grasp the quality.

Hilton nightclub is OK,the band being Philipino cant sing cant dance but good atmosphere, loads of free lancers or Bar Girls wandering around for a tug. When it closes thats it. Couple others like City Beach or Hin Nam Suay. Locals treat Tesco as a day out, sums it up really.

  16. From footer on BBC new web site

    06:54 GMT.

The most read story in Australasia is: Life as a Thai sex worker

    Sigh.........

    Regards

I read the piece after it was pointed out to me this morning.

Same old tripe that is trotted out every so often - why do they not do a profile on a Singaporean sex worker in Geylang where its legal?

Could also try Batam, Cambodia or numerous other places but no - the image perpetuates by lazy journalism looking for an easy story.

Yep, lots of Thai Prossie's in Geylang Singapore also, but then there are Thai hookers in the majority of rich Country's.

  17. What exactly is it about the article that people are objecting about?

I would love some answers to the above question, civilized answers and not flames.

For me, the issue is not about the fact that the article was written in the first place but more about how everyone outside of Thailand seems to focus on a very teeny weeny small part of Thai life and it's that which makes these kind of articles a joke.

Yes prostitution exists but in the big scheme of things it makes up such a small percentage of life in Thailand that unless you know where to look and actually go to 'specific' places that cater for such things then you would hardly know that this sort of thing exists here. It's not as if it's thrown in your face at every corner on the way to work each day now is it.

Where do you live? Not in your face, specific places, god you go to any city or large town and you will see it, go to a small village and you will get a girl brought to you within 1 hour.

Cannot understand the objection's, its the norm here in Thailand, I have approached girls in Tesco and Big C for a rendevouz, its all about price.
