Your visa expires automatically when you leave Thailand.
(Unless you have a re-entry permit, which does not seem applicable here).
As you are leaving your job, your employer will take the work permit to the Labour Dept for cancellation.
The problem that you may experience is if your visa has a 1 year extension. In which case, once your WP is
cancelled your visa will also be cancelled and you will be given 7 days to leave.
As you are leaving next week, then just go.
Thaks dude

I posted this on the visa section yesterday. I did not get one response. I hope you can help as I am flying out tomorrow.
My Non Imm B type visa expires in February next year. As I am going to tomorrow to take up a new job does this visa automatically get cancelled on departure from Bangkok or do I specifically have to visit an immigration office to do so.
Cheers

Can my Thai girlfriend get a job of some sort in Korea. She is an English teacher here in Thailand but unfortunately that does not qualify her for a teaching job in Korea(Non native speaker)

Can anyone please point me to the right websites where I can get flights to Korea(Seoul)

I am considering going to work in Korea. If I do can my Thai GF and our child come with me. Do they just qualify for a VOA.
Thai citizens are granted 90 day stay exemption on enrty so there is no problem getting them into Korea. Once in the counrty a change in status ifor dependants is easy for most occupations other than teachers.
Hmmm. Unfortunately I will possibly be teaching. So does that mean my GF and child can go say Japan for the weekend and come back in on another 90 day visa.

I want to do my 90 day reporting by post.
What is the equivalent of registered post here in Thailand?
Is it guaranteed next day delivery?

My Thai wife has been on to Immigration and the labour department this morning. She got mixed messages from both.
My work permit was cancelled last week I am due to do my 90 day reporting nex week.
Do the immigraion office and the labour department actually talk to one another.
That is - I think I was suppose to leave the country within 7 days of my WP being cancelled.
Also when I do my 90 day reporting(By Post) what do I have to send them and what is the name of the registered post I have to get at the post office.

My Thai girlfriend has lost her Thai passport. Does anyone know how she can get a replacement and point me oin the right connection on whom to contact. We are in Thailand now.

His employer will cancel his visa. Your mate must leave the country within 7 days. I know this for a fact as I gave up my work permit and I had to leave.
He is then back on tourist visas.

I have an overstay stamp in my passport(1 day). Since I overstayed I have had 3 X 1 month tourist visas followed by two(1 year) Non Imm B Type visas. Not once have I been questioned about my overstay. I hope this puts your mind at rest.

Hi,
I'm coming to LOS in May to do a month long TEFL with IH in Chiang Mai. I'm going to be in Thailand for a month before the course to do some travelling then after the course I'd like to stay and find a job. What I want to know is which type of visa it is best to come in on. I was thinking about a non-imm 'ED' visa, as I'm coming to do a course, but is that easilt transferred to a 'B' when I find a job? I'm coming from the UK, does any one know of an embassy or consulate in the Uk that will grant a B without an employment letter? From reading the posts, it seems as though the authorities are clamping down on illegal workers and I'd hate to come in on the wrong visa then find it impossible to find a job! Any info anyone could give me to help would be much appreciated!
Thanks
Just come on a 60day tourist visa. By the time that expires you will have finished your course. Then get another 30 day tourist visa giving you enough time to get a job.

Guys heres the siutation
I have resigned from my job and will leave Thailand in June. I have the extension to stay until Feb 2008.
I take it that when i eventually leave my extension to stay will be cancelled along with my work permit. What happens then for the rest of 2007 should i wish to come back for some weekends etc?
Does the 180 day maximum that i have been reading about apply from when i leave in June or does it cover the whole year including when i have been working in which case stopping me coming back??
Ideas?
Thanks
Ok I did this a few months ago. My WP got cancelled I was then allowed to come back in on three tourist visas. I eventually got a new one year visa and WP.
You are aware that you MUST leave the country within seven days of your WP getting cancelled.

Yes you can. I have done it two times. Be aware you must stay overnight in Suvannaket.
