  1. We had a small snake in our kitchen this morning. Just remember it being grey in color with hints of light green.

    It was quite young.

    Anyway idea what kind?

Didn't have a large head or anything.

This was out in Don Muang. Security removed it and threw it over the fence.

Think is wat they call tree snake

  2. Thanks Blacklabel. Any idea how the Singapore immigration would react if a Thai visitor was making regular 30 day visit applications (we are not married) ? Are they likely to start refusing after a while ?

Also, I'm assuming that she wouldn't be able to work ?

    Cheers.

Wat i encounter is she will get her extention of 30 days for the 1st time meaning she stay a total of 60 days and den she has to go back thailand and stay for maybe a week or 2 before revisiting singapore again. They will start asking questions like wat is she doing here blar blar blar.....No offence there are too many of them coming here to work illegally hence the strict rules. There are many ways to bypass all this regulation.Wat i would suggest is either tru long term visa=married, student visa or work permit....is not tat hard to look for a job in singapore it depends wat she can do, there are many thai reastarant employing thais to work....hope it helps cheerschongaew

  3. I'm actually thinking of relocating to Singapore with my job and would do so under a formal Singapore employment pass. Does anyone know whether my Thai G/F would be able to be granted anything over and above a 30 day visa (i.e. not having to leave Singapore every 30 days to renew) so that we could set up home together. She would also want to work in Singapore if possible.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

Firstly u have to get yourself a work permit or employment pass den u can apply for your wife if not married den too bad she has to extend her visa every 30 days or let her enrol in courses where the school will give student visa for 6 months or 1 year depending on the duration of the course if she is married to u den get your marriage cert translated to english if u do it in thailand and u can apply for long term visa (6mths to 1year) at the immigration office. This is the link for FAQs

    Hope this helps ....cheerschongaew

  4. My you are naive!!

    Whys that then?

Politicians and top-tier officials are rich in every country in the world - This guys dad was Thailands top cop and held several senior positions in the cabinet over the years.

Is it naive to simply think the cars are bought with family money rather than some sort of massive drug running scam or similar?

Top politicians and top-tier officials in my country(SG) dun own ferraris...maybe he did not buy the cars just a GIFT form drug lords IMO :o

  5. For lyrics can try this link www.ethaimusic.com many thai songs with translation. And u can try the link www.thai2english.com if u have a thai key board....hope this helps cheerschongaew :o

  6. Please correct me if I am wrong - but I was under the impression that all overseas airline tickets purchased AFTER 01 February 2007 included the 700 baht Departure Tax when leaving Thailand. (Note: Previously it was 500 baht, payable separately on leaving Thailand).

I was told yesterday (Sunday morning, 22 April 2007) at 5.30am that the Departure Tax was NOT paid on my ticket. The ticket was booked and paid in full at Flight Centre (NSW, Australia) on 08 February 2007.

After the drama I had on my entry to Thailand this visit, I wasn't about to do anything rash ... so I just smiled (through gritted teeth) and paid the 700 baht.

Is this a scam or what? Because it was Sunday morning, I was unable to contact Flight Centre to get their version. Do I have any grounds for complaint if it can be proved the 700 baht Departure Tax was paid as part of my ticket price? Has this happened to anybody else?

    Your thoughts please.

    Peter

When i buy my e-ticket from jetstar it clearly stats tat i dun have to pay the 700baht tax at suvarnabhumi and when i fly back to SG dun have any problems..cheerschongaew

  7. Found a rolex watch in the gents toilet few years back while working in the restaurant as a chef. The first thouht was to keep it but was afraid tat the owner might come back for it. Was thinking tat the owner must be 1 of the customer cos no one in the restaurant wears a rolex. The fear of losing my job makes me give up the watch to the boss and at tat time i didnt noe whether its genuine or fake. 3 months later when i totally forget about the incident, the boss pass me the watch and say i could keep it.His policy is wat ever found in the restaurant is not claim after 3 months the finder keeps it. Was thinking tat it must be fake or else how come the guy never came back and the boss could have kept it without me knowing den one fine day i brought it to a watch dealer to check it outand guess wat................................its real cheers chongaew

  8. It happens everywhere even in singapore where the law forbids them to do it. IMO this is not charity and i would not say its a scam if they sell u their artwork be it a card, key chain or wat ever for a small fee. What i understand is its a way of earning extra income be it for themself or their family we do not noe.IF u think its a scam den dun buy from them but if u feels tat its just some loose change den why not...cheers chongaew

    Villa + Foodland groceries 20K

Transport 0 can walk everywhere, live where I want to be

    visa runs 3K avg

    gf allowance 12K

    Total 95K

    did I leave anything out?

oh, kick in 5K for beer and nightlife

    so nice round 100K total

My lifestyle here requires a minimum of this 100K so I get a bit bent about people raving about how cheap life is here. I find it outright expensive to live the decent life I require. These numbers are for 2 people only. Also remember that I have zero transport costs

55k for rent u must have stayed in a very nice place...cheers chongaew
