I may be looking to replace my Samsung Note 4 with a Xiomi Note 8 pro but I wonder if they would be in the same league in terms of specs and quality
-
I have had problems with my phone the last days. Its is always hot all the time eventhough I am not using any apps. When I check the battery status i is always at 80 percent but does not show any apps open or sometime it says no info available. When charging to 100 percent it decreases to 30 percent within less than two hours. I have replaced the battery and same problem. What can be done here as I think sending to Samsung Center will be very costly.

With a bit of luck the police won't come and arrest you for spreading false information on the Internet with your opening post of this topic.
Well on TV yesterday morning they said the holidays are off

The problem isn't May Day (or whatever you want to call it) alone.
There are two holidays next week on Monday and Wednesday, take one day off work and you get a 6 day break, plenty of time to go and visit family and deliver them a nice, viral present. The same argument was used when Songkran was "postponed".
I don't like it, but I do see the logic if it actually happens (not seen an official notice yet).
I also suspect that the alcohol ban will be stretched until Tuesday (Wednesday is a no-alcohol holiday anyway)
Glad I was misinformed about the holidays. At least some days rest

Because it's when people tend to gather in groups, socializing and potentially spreading the virus
but they d gather in groups at the work place. And who says they will be partying on May Day. Many just want to stay home and relax.

But I guess its okay for wagies to be working in populated offices daily. Can anybody explain to me why holidays like labour day are seen as a health hazard.

Try telling that to the guys living in a tin shacks like down our soi, how about distributing some of your wealth?
So true and try telling this to you employer and maybe show them the instagram account of some millionaire lukrueng celeb with a "stay home" sign. The employer will either die laughing or send me on permanent vacation

You have to apply for a new extension. Long term extensions are not included in the "amnesty".
Thanks for the info. Much appreciated

Ah lockdown in a mansion seams so easy though lockdown in a sniveling hoval is a bit more of a challenge wherever you are right now ????
Especially when their mansions have internal swimming pools and fitness gyms and they can invite friends over etc. I am in an office

That depends upon what you have. Do you have a 90 day entry from a non-b visa or a one year extension of stay based upon working issued by immigration.
If a 90 day entry you do not have to do anything at immigration.
I have got an extension of stay
-
Trying to get some information as my non B visa expires on the 23rd and the government announced visa amnesty until the 30th April due to the Covid. Does it mean I have to go to immigration on the 23rd or can I go on the 30th?

...but did any one of their PR staff tell them that most people have to leave their homes to work and keep society going and those who are not are basically staying home because they were laid off?

Is the person suffering from Covid-19 still walking about in the building?

Lets say there is an accounting or law firm which are non life essential services. Would staff have to right to demands a company shutdown or work from home as a precaution of them getting infected.
I read of a case in the Khaosod news but the companies on the same floor in the same building stayed open for business. Why? -

I suspect the government floated the rumor to see how it would be received by the people and sensing a very negative response decided reducing the numbers infected was the better move
That may be but these rumors are becoming annoying

Very true, i work from home. Have done for the past 3 years. No need for an office.
Maybe they dont have the equipment needed to complete tasks at home.
Or maybe they are being forced to work.
Forced to work is more likely

I would of thought tech companies are essential. Especially in this day and age.
essential yes but in this day and age a lot of that can be done from home office

I really wonder why office businesses are still open while restaurants, barber shops etc have been order to shut down?
-
While I do understand that life essential business like food distribution, supermarkets need to be open I don't understand why law firms, tech companies or other offices related stuff are not being shut down. Most offices have multiple people sitting in a room for the whole day so it's as infectious as sitting in a restaurant so why have restaurants close but offices are kept open even though there are confirmed number of office drones who are infected.

Have you ever come across an expats who would rather live here in Thailand eventhough he is broke than to go back to cold Europe or USA? Living here I slowly understand the magic of smiling faces, the sun, the smells, the tasty foods. I would not want to go back to Europe either despite Thailand having some flaws too , but the positive overeweighs it.

While I agree that as a foreigner one has to careful when dating a Thai women especially from the bar scene I do not undersatnd why a lot people bash Thai women so much. Is it that they were burnt badly by Thai women are they could not get laid?
-
Seconded. That's why pprefer to be single too. There are lots of interesting things in Thailand why bother being an Atm on 2 legsMost ( but not all ) Thai Ladies are only interested in " The Money " and many are brainwashed into believing that all farang are rich.(although the farang are partly blamed for this too..) I always play the " poor farang " it sorts out who actually likes you for who you are! I like to socialize with all ladies but prefer the ones with normal jobs or who work on building sites or who just live a simple life.( just like myself ) I live in Thailand on a very small budget and live a very simple life spending my time outside walking and on the beach in the sunshine or riding my bicycle. But many Thai ladies are extremely materialistic which i find to be " a big turn off " and with many they constantly talk about " money " i switch off like a light and just walk away.(politely) I haven't been in a bar in Thailand for years ( i don't drink ) but it's not my thing and these types of ladies are there for business only ( which i fully respect )
Unfortunately the only test to see if the lady really likes you is just to " not mention money and not give her any money " if she is still in touch after 6 months then she likes you!
I find many Thai lades are very serious ( some smile but not all )
I enjoy life living alone,i have enjoyed being a " free spirit " for years.I have never had a Thai Girlfriend and to be honest i am not that interested.I like sunshine, very long walks, sunbathing, riding my bicycle, travelling by train and " acting a fool " ( something i have been doing for years ) Many of them just like to stay indoors all day and watch TV and play games on there mobile phones ( living with someone like that would " drive me absolutely nuts " )
When i was in Bangkok the other day and spotted a " huge queue of ladies " waiting to go into the " Louis Vuitton " Hand bag shop it made me realize why after 50 years in this world i am " still single " .........

Samsung Note 4 problems
in Mobile Devices and Apps
Posted · Edited by michaeltheR
I did a factory reset two times as well but it did not help. Now I literally only have the apps provided by Samsung and still the same problem.
