  1. This has to be one of the most blatant obvious clear cut murder scenes ever. The story she gives is ridiculous. The problem she has now is this video is out in the open and i am sure decent Thai people who live in the UK will make their feelings herd. Firstly no one ever mixes cocaine with water and drinks it. It is clear that the syringe was not used for injecting but clearly used for a liquid. Where is the needle? People who inject drugs do not use that type of syringe, period. This story stinks to high heaven and anyone with any brains can see this clearly.

    Where's the video ?

  3. The Time has come for the missus to get some work and before doing so, I thought I'd get some feedback from those that have been through this recently. mrs P is a on a 2yr +3 mths Spouse visa, and now has her NI number.

Whats the next stage in applying for work, just do it or as the UKBA (confusing website) states, does she also need a permit or letter to back up her right to work even though she is married to a UK National??

    Cheers in advcance.

  4. Selling an already rented out, income gaining property which is 50% owned by your mother............in a recession. Thats a few hurdles to cross then!!

Keep the flat and get your family to loan you a few quid to put in your back and if ever questioned, say it was a repayment of a loan.

You mentioned in one of your replies the following......."I'll find a way, and my family could help".

Go down this route mate, its easiest.

  5. .....they had deceived the investors to invest over Bt100 million in fake firms...

Anyone who invests in a company without checking that it exists, deserves to be parted from their money. :)

Bit harsh, sometimes people make poor rash decisions without first checking the facts, but hardly deserving of being scammed from their hard earned money

  6. Both Thailand and the UK allow dual nationality.

The spouse of a British citizen can apply for naturalisation once they have ILR (or the equivalent) and have been legally in the UK for at least the last three years. During that three years they must have spent no more than 270 days out of the UK with no more than 90 days in the final year.

If your wife obtained her ILR before the introduction of the KoL requirement, then she will have to do this before she can apply for citizenship. If she has already done this for her ILR then she doesn't have to do so again for citizenship.

See Knowledge of language and life in the United Kingdom (KoL) and How do I apply for naturalisation as a British citizen?

Once she is a citizen and has a British passport, the procedure for travel between the UK and Thailand is simple.

    1) On checking in with the airline to leave the UK show both passports; so the airline knows she is legally in the UK and can enter Thailand without restriction.

    2) If asked by UK passport control for her passport (unlikely at present) she shows her British one.

    3) On arrival in Thailand she shows Thai immigration, and gets the entry stamp in, her Thai passport.

    4) On leaving Thailand she shows the airline when checking in both passports as 1) above.

    5) At Thai passport control she shows, and gets the exit stamp in, her Thai passport.

    6) On arrival in the UK she shows UK immigration her British passport.

To put it more simply, in and out of the UK with British passport; in and out of Thailand with her Thai passport.

    Are you 100% sure?

Although what you posted appears to be the 'Norm' for those with 2 passports and is commonly used to suit entry into countries by the passport holder, I always thought this was illegal.

I understood that on a trip you had to travel on 1 passport alone. You cannot pick or choose (by law) although most do as its more convenient and hassle free for the traveller

  7. According to the vfs website, they only completed 35% of settlement visa applications within 60working days (12 weeks). /that doesn't seem to correspond with the experience of people here as most seemed to get it in that period.

Anyway, I'm getting worried now - the fiancee's flight is next friday and we've heard nothing so far. Globaleyes' application went in a day before ours and his came through on Monday...

It looks like recent applications (May,June,July onwards - including my wife's) are getting a decision around about the 10 week mark from date of submission. You have to be close to getting a decision, is your flight amendable?

Yes it is. altough the leave i booked off work the week after isn't unfortunately. A couple of months ago we were resigned to the likelihood we wouldn't get the visa in time but as people had been starting to get it around the 10 week mark, we made the mistake of starting to believe we would get it in time.

Chin up mate. This coming week is yours, for sure.

    Where you from in Hampshire?

  9. ajsp9 - well done mate, all the best :)

Nice one ajsp9. Although 10 weeks, it seems like you've been on here an age, I seem to remember you had the whole of June to yourself for about a month.

Too bloody right there mate. It was tough waiting and I feel for everyone else, but it does seem like its getting quicker now.

  10. Good News for me and my wife.

    Apologies for the delay.

My wife had her Visa GRANTED on Monday 10th August, 1 day under 10 weeks of tortuous waiting. We are both over the moon.

I´m currently on holiday in Majorca, so looking to return to Uk on Wednesday, pack me bags and head over to thailand on the next weekend.

Good luck to everyone else. Waiting times seems to be slightly down on the 12 weeks.

  11. Ah ha a 2nd of Juner Heh!

Not sure if I can say the forum here but anyway it was www.thailand-uk.com

    Chok Dee

Aye, fingers crossed and all that. I'm off on holiday to Majorca 11th Aug, so hopefully whilst away I will get a long awaited call saying all is well.

    Thanks for the info.

  12. Hi

Just been on another Forum, just looking - honest :) and I see that someone, ADE2007, who applied 29/5 has had their visa processed and collected yesterday! Wow I hope this continues and June applications on TV are representative........we are 2nd July :D

    GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!

Wow, thats quick (9 weeks!!) Which Forum was that on mate?

  13. Can anyone explain just how youtrack an application?

I've been given a code starting GW then some numbers, plus the wife's birthday being entered but it comes up as invalid search.

I received an email from the VFS whgich said she's in the queue, be patient.

    Am I doing anything wrong?
