In my opinion, the idea of having a door between your unit and one you want to rent out doesn't sound to me like a good idea for 2 reasons
1) I personally wouldn't like renting a place that had a weird connecting door only my landlord had the key to and could open at any point...kind of creepy...but maybe Thais would be okay with it.
2) There's also the privacy issue - unless you buy a completely soundproof door (don't know where you buy one of those in Thailand) but you're going to hear everything!
Out of interest - when you join two smaller units do you keep the two original deeds or have to get a lawyer to create a new one? There are two separate chanoots (that's the Thai word for deed), so you can always seal off the doorway again and sell as separate units.

Just another sign how weak USA has become.
China or Russia would have lit them up.

Gold has the slowest declining marginal utility of ALL goods, products, commodities etc etc in the entire world. Mathematically, this makes it the easiest 'thing' to sell in the entire world.
There will always be a market bidding for gold but the time will come when there are fewer and fewer sellers until all offers to sell gold will be withdrawn in the same way that no-one can buy gold with zimbabwean dollars today. However, it's not a time to look forward to....
All we are seeing here in Thailand is that people are selling some gold to survive. They are very lucky to have saved in gold all these years because it would be much more difficult to sell their 2nd hand car or most other items right now! With gold, there's always a bid!
Sure a Thai selling their 2 baht chain for rice is a good thing.
People holding gold maple leafs better be long and far from TH if they want
cash for it.

Still better than paper money based on QE or internet money based on Bit coins.
We used (pawned) our gold once when we needed cash quick for a car repair. Try getting a loan from a bank for that kind of thing.
I have $ in reserve to pay for small expenses like fixing my car.
You'll need to learn some basic financial planning if you're pawning
your gold to do that.
'nuff said.

Damage control by Trump.
NY Times and other agencies publishing
very accurate timelines on how he was briefed
endlessly on potential pandemic hitting USA
and he went and played golf and dismissed it
as a hoax.

I'll bear that in mind when the ATM's stop working 'as a temporary measure' and internet goes down. I started buying 10 years ago, ฿16 000, now worth ฿25 000 I believe.
- 4000B when you try to cash back at spot price.

I was warning about this senario weeks ago.
Keep in mind, gold hasn't really moved upwards ,in a big way yet
Imagine, in a potential meltdown and gold doubles/triples, and millions of thais run to the gold shop demanding to sell.
Gold shop-owner cannot possibly redeem but a tiny fraction of the gold he has sold
Lesson...stay away from thai gold
If you can buy 99.9% gold ,anonymously and not stored with a third-party vault, do it.
You can always sell it in the int'l market unlike low-purity thai gold
There are also fake gold bars to worry about
<deleted> it..I'm sticking with cash.
Have a nice day
Idiots who store gold will learn the hard fact nobody wants to buy it back for cash when the prices are sky high in a pandemic - throws the whole 'the sky is falling theory out the window' and hold gold in place of cash.

Thailand is a country of alcoholics and the with-drawl symptoms posted unfortunately seem too similar to initial Covid infection.
The stupidity of limiting alcohol sales even during normal daytime hours speaks volumes.

I was booked to go to Tokyo , but the flight was cancelled , first by AirAsia , then booked through NokScoot and they then cancelled also.
My intention was to buy an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean , as there was a dealer there ..The Watch Company in Nakano who were selling new Omegas for between 30% to 40% cheaper than Bangkok AD's prices.
Omega are owned by SWATCH and used a modified ETA movement
i.e. = it's trash.
