  1. Apologies, I should clarify the married couple include one foreigner and one Thai who jointly own/reside in the condo.  I believe PeterW42 addressed my question as it is indeed the initial online registration I am inquiring about.  I was just curious if there is any benefit in having a Thai spouse initiate things with her name from the onset in order to avoid additional paperwork in the future rather than me since I am the foreigner.  If I submit my name as the owner, which I could do, am I setting myself for additional future paperwork compliance.  Call me crazy but just the other day for instance, UPS demanded I provide passport, TM6, Visa and lunchbox number,....in order to clear a simple Amazon shipment of USD95.  The wife took over with just her Thai ID card. Done.  Thanks gentlemens.

  2. When both foreigner and wife jointly own a residential BKK condo, I presume it is best, not only for the initial submission of the online TM30 registration now, but also for future follow-ons,  for the Thai spouse to be named as, ‘The Owner,’ correct?

The reasoning is that even though one possesses a Yellow House Registration book and Pink ID card, there always seems to be additional paper work, notarized and blessed by God requirements.  Whereas the spouse simply presents a Thai ID card and all issues melt away.  In this arrangement described, is there any advantage now or later that would suggest it worthwhile for the foreigner to ‘go it alone’ with the TM30 business and not involve his spouse?  Thanks for your remarks. -Jay

  3. Was reviewing the manuals of the Gaggenau appliances that are installed in all units at the Park Chidlom, and for the dish washer it suggests owners take care regarding "hard water" conditions. If hard water is of concern, then spots and marks will occur on glasses etc. But I also worry if hard water will over time clog the tiny water spouts with calciuum deposits and other items. Manual indicates owners can purchase "water softner" to pour into the dish washer somewhere. Any ideas about this, do we have hard water in Bangkok or in Park Chidlom?

How are the Gaggenau appliances holding up for everyone? Have placed an order for the refridgerator. -JRK

  4. Indeed, the buyers are likely from the Park Chidlom. The Park is so luxurious that they're simply making inquiry with the Athenee folks whether units are available for their maids and drivers and so forth. Many units at The Address has sold to Park tenants for such purposes. -JRK

I expect more towards December than October, but the letter I received also just said 4th quarter.

Interestingly, CBRE are enquiring whether we want to sell (not interested). As the old saying goes, demand is based on location, location, location. Buyers must be people at the Park who are looking for a better location.

  5. Below are pics taken of the Park Chidlom Residence as of March 10, morning time. Visiting the site reminded me of those 9volt mosquito racquets used here, because when you look up I saw all these welding sparks on and off illuminating the various rooms they were working on in each of the towers. It seemed busy. Still lots to do though. The overcast sky is quite strange today and so colors look rather depressing in these digital shots, but in person I can assure you this is a mighty soon to be sweet structure. -JRK

  6. Okay, I spoke Hemaraj's office today. They confirmed no lawsuit or delay in construction is underway at this time. From both my current residence and my office I am able to see daily activity. For instance, on the Chidlom Tower they began painting the base of the crown yellow. They're now testing the pool's ability to contain water without any leaks. -JRK

  7. Hello gentelmen. Today I received an email from the developer, Hemeraj. They request I prepare a number documents related to begin transfering my one of the two units I have in the Somkid Tower. This was good until I learned about the above statement. I wonder how this action will impact things, slower but how much slower? What is everyone's gut feeling when the project will be complete? April? July? December? Main thing is they maintain the quality throughout for me. -JRK
