  1. hi,

ive been living in bangkok for a long time and was thinking about buying an condo here, i was just wondering where would be a good place to look for advertised condos, and also if i could get a mortage on a condo? i dont have a work permit, but i would be able to put down say 20%, and i have regular income.im english and im currently on a student visa, i know different rules apply to different companys, some say u need a work permit, others dont care, any information on this topic would be most welcome, thanks  paul

  2. i have to get my student visa next month for study at a  bangkok international school, and i would like to visit cambodia, does the thai consulate in phnom penh issue student visas and how much are student visas? i have all my paper work so getting its no problem, its just a question of where is best? and how much it costs? i was under the impression that this was a 1 year visa? can anyone tell me?? thanks   paul :o
  3. i've been in thailand for 5 years and over the past 6 months thailands seems to have started to change its attitude towards farangs living here, i think this is more to do with the government than ordinary thai people, i love living here and i dont want to leave but the thought is starting to enter my head that i might have too. i guess theres ways around everything.

i feel lucky to live here and its not my country of birth and really i have no right to complain about these new laws its up to the thai goverment to decide. i think its wrong but let them find out for themselves when there are no teachers around to teach there children and toursim is starting to be the number 3 earner.. ill stay here untill i have no opitions left and when that times comes im going to cambodia or somewhere else in s.e.a. this whole thing is just causing resentment for alot of people and i hope it isnt as bad as most of us fear, more new rules about work permits today... what else will it be tomorrow???

  4. i was reading the sunday edition of the nation and i noticed a letter to the editor which stated that the thai rak tai party had proposed even more new immigrations rules which stated that farangs who stay here for 3 months on a visa would have to leave the country for 6 months!!!!! when the visa ran out. this is something which i read and have heard nothing more about, but can anyone tell me if this is true??

  6. hi,

i have to go on visa run for a 1 year non b multiple entry visa,im english and have a letter from my work. i was wondering has easy it was to get one in of these in phnom penh, before i went to laos and they only gave me a 3 month non b, which wasnt re-entry, although i did apply for one. has anyone had any problems in phnom penh getting a multiple entry visa? my other option is to goto singapore but i feel cambodia would be more interesting. thanks paul
