  1. I tried searching for an experienced medical doctor in reading medical screening tests ,at Bumrungrad hospital but could not .

I need an excellent doctor who can read, and find the precise diagnose , and not try to "expect' or "guess" as many whom I've consulted.

Can you kindly recommend a certain doctor for a comprehensive medical check up at Bumrungrad?

  2. Real pity to fight over a petty thing as that, Christians since ever lived peacefully with their Muslim brothers in Arabic countries, but when hate and grudges rule in both sides; you can easily dehumanize the other to the limits of killing them.

Remember; the two dead are Muslims, so don't spout the Muslim fascists killers accusation into this thread.

BTW: Steely Dan, since when anti-war was identical with being anti-western?

  3. Read the article closely. Do you see any mention of where the detainees come from? Are they Angry Americans? Silly Swedes? Saucy Spaniards? We'll never know, as political correctness and privacy laws discourage country of origin statements..

The same thing happened in the story about a bomb plot in Germany that was stopped. The article described the man only as a German citizen but later in the article they mentioned the plot was busted because of a tip given to the German embassy in Pakistan. So obviously the culprit wasn't a Hans or Franz.

So what is the name of the culprit and where he comes from?

It was the suspect himself who send some emails to the embassy in Pakistan. That guy was a blackmailer, all what he wanted was money. Not a terrorist, not a hooligan - an extortionist.

The culprit is a German, 25 years old. His grandparents had probably an Aryan certificate and his name is not Iskandar.

Obviously are here only the xenophobes. :bah:

There are loads of those bigoted xenophobes here ,unfortunately .

  4. Alas, it's gonna be along time till it'll reopen again am sure, we are having a big problem finding pita bread and certain kinds of cheese which are only available in Foodland Sukumvit soi 5

    btw

-There is a Foodland right on the beginning of Ramkhamheang road, if you are coming from Rama 9 road, it has most of the items that being offered in Suk5

    - There is another big Foodland branch on Lad Praw road, which I like the most cause it is very spacious and not crowded most of the times.

  5. Next they will introduce Sharia law...

I cannot believe these people have been named and shamed!

As said before, some may find this distasteful or perverse but I don't see how they are breaking the law any more than the hundreds of karaoke and ladybars.

Reminds me more of Malaysia every day. Next they will be outlawing sex outside of marriage. Perhaps wearing the burka will help?

Hypocrisy is just becoming a way of life in this wonderful enlightened country.

FYI, Thailand is not an Islamic country; so no burka no sharia applies

Even in Pattaya you see burkas and headscarves.

    So what?

  7. You will not get any insurance to cover pre-exising conditions.

In this case, I'm not sure what the ins and outs of the insurance industry are, but even though the condition is not identified, it is unlikely that it will be covered, given that there is 'something' there.

By all means get travel insurance to cover the potential for accidents and unforseen (and unrelated) medical treatment, but that is the best you'll get.

In terms of nationality, this can still be important. You said you are neither Thai or Australian. What nationality is your realative? Australia has a number of reciprocal agreements with many countries which provide access to the Australian health care system. These are mainly western EU countries + New Zealand.

Thanks a lot for your kind response.

She is an Iraqi national. I guess there is no way to get an insurance for her in this case :(

  8. Hi,

One of my family has an auto immune disease, there was a huge contradiction in the diagnoses of her condition in the high-end hospitals in Bangkok. Actually, she has lost all hope of identifying her illness here, and she is totally devastated of how her health is/was declining over the passing year.

We are not Thais nor Australians, she has no current health insurance to cover her expenses in Thailand, nor abroad.

Now, she has an opportunity to travel for Australia, she had contacted a very worldwide famous doctor in Sydney , who has scheduled several procedure for her in December like :

a FNA, ultrasound for her goiter , a comprehensive medical examination , and other depending medical tests/treatments that she might advised to have while undergoing these procedures. Thus, we are now very concerned and worried that this "medical" trip might cause her a lot, adding to it the outpatient fees for hospital/doctor visits and medications. The rough figures of the expected expenses would be around 7-10k Australian dollar.

Is there a health/travel insurance that we could buy that would cover part of these expenses ? in this short time ? which one do you suggest? will it be better to buy a travel insurance or a health insurance? with her already exciting health condition , can she find a decent and accountable insurance company that would give us a good deal?

Please, forgive my ignorance in this issue, I've never had any adequate information or knowledge about Travel/ Health insurance issue.

Thanks in Advance for your kind advice and recommendation.

    Cheers!

  9. OH I see, DP25 doesn't think it was an inside Job. The Police are just telepathic and knew exactly where and when to go with a full film crew in tow...

    Yeah, that could happen.

    DP,

perhaps I can interest you in a Ouija Board that I have for sale. I'll throw in the Crystal Ball too for the right price. Come round to my abortion clinic next to the temple to discuss it. For 200 baht you can drink all the beer you can hold while you make up your mind. And if you happen to see my naked wife getting out of the shower, feel free to whip out your chap and rub one out. Life is just THAT good!

I think Alexlah had paid 300B for the drinks in that party, and another 200B as a fine for the police, so it's a 500B total, isn't it?

I wonder if the police had kept the camera rolling on when he emptied his pockets , filming all his tangible and intangible assets at the same moment !:whistling:

  10. To the OP:

    Go.

It'll could be fun, and relatively harmless fun. Bar owners quite often do this; they're people too. As are the staff. It's actually good to connect with people slighly out of the default commercial setting.

All the other posts and negativity... that's just those people and you can only feel sorry for them. Don't let their jadedness, angst or alternate agenda spoil your enjoyment of Thailand.

First: I am not sure if it is out of the commercial setting, it sounds and smells as a "setting" after all

I just hope you are not a father, a teacher or a tour guide! :whistling:

Joy can be accompanied with being wise and cautious. The OP is a young chap ; he has all the future to enjoy his life to the limits, he neither needs to be a fool nor a crazy to fulfill his "enjoyment", it is always good to have his head leveled up and positioned where it should be.

  11. Haha thanks bifftastic for that laugh, but isn't it the truth? I was worried that this might be a tried and true trick to ply onto unsuspecting foreigners but now i have no possible worry, thankyou.

But seriously, i am just being cautious.

Yeah I know mate, and seriously, you should just take the normal precautions when you're going to someone's house that you don't know very well. Leave your important stuff at home, only take enough money to do what you want to do, write down the address, make sure you know how to get home etc. etc.

And make sure you nick all the silverware :D

Ok, maybe not the last one!

    :cheesy: Like the silverware part.

I am not sure if there would be silverware in a mamasan house, :ermm: I think there would be only nickers and underwear to nick .

  12. United States of Tara is brilliant, I like it.

Strange enough, lately I am into torturing myself by watching Reality TV shows , I don't know what is happening to me,:( watching all the rubbish on E! channel , and The Style network, like:

Keeping up with the Kardishians .

    The Jerseylicious

    Mel B.: It's a Scary World

    Giuliana & Bill

I hate em, but I keep watching them, is it middle age crazy? !

  13. So how did you meet this girl? Hi so Thai/Chinese I assume and of course college educated.

She is a nurse in Chumpon. I met her on the internet. She was angry that I would not go there and visit her, she harassed me for months emailing me to go to her sons graduation and this and that. I was studying Thai language in Bangkok at the time, and I am not about to fly around the country to meet women. Women used to regularly ask me to go to this or that place in Thailand to meet them. I did not have the time or the means.

With all my respect for nurses, but a "nurse" is hel_l far from being recognized as a "celebrity" in my Thai dictionary  so how come she ended in Kiskis?

  14. Never heard of that magazine. What is it?

Well from what I know it writes about Thai celebreties and probably a lot of what I would call smut.

    Cool. So you're famous?

If the gf was interviewed by the magazine , that means SHE is famous; :whistling: but the OP stated she wrote an "article"; which suppose to mean that she is either a journalist or a columnist in that magazine.

My bet is neither of the above mentioned : she'd just posted her story in the "relationships' fix" section in that magazine.<_<

  15. I need to correct the "old" information in my previous post: The Yanhee international department has moved to the 12th floor in the new building.

You can contact Yanhee directly , and ask them to book for you, if you are planning to have a surgery with them, they'd offer you better accommodation prices, wherever; you wish to stay in Bangkok, because they have a cooperative-contract deals with most of the hotels in Bangkok. try to give that a shot.

There are several new low-rise suites across the street ;though.

  16. Amazing that illegals in UK WILL be put on a plane at the tax payers expense.

Now, 1 in 8 in prison in the UK at over a £1000 a week cost, is a foreigner.

What? if the cost for a one-week stay in a UK's prison is £1000, are the prisoners staying in Hilton ? feeding them what : caviar ?

  17. Keep safe distance from all traffic in front of you, if you are doing 80 keep about 80 meters distance if possible.

    :)

Are you kidding? keeping 80 meters distance? that means you allowing:

    -3 big blue/white bus

-5 medium "crazy '" green buses

    -10 red,yellow, blue Taxis , and 20 motorcycles.

to jump in front of you to occupy that space !:bah:
