I've only seen a decent selection in Hua Hin, and suspect a lot of that has expired on the self.  Actually impressive amount at the Gourmet Market @ Bluport ... if ever in the area and want to sample more than a few.

 

Our local Makro added a bunch of craft beers, but suspect they'll disappear with the expiration dates.  I can't see locals spending 100+ baht for small beers.

We had a similar situation when we lived in Australia around 10 years ago. 

My wife renewed her passport and we were told there was no need to transfer the visa. When we tried to check in for our flight back to Oz my wife was told that she couldn't travel as she hadn't transferred the visa to the new passport. It wasn't until after a few phone calls and quite a bit of time that my wife was finally allowed to check in

My wife's passport expires in a few months and she currently has a 10 year UK visitor visa. 

Does anyone know the process for transferring the visa to the new passport?

Has anyone applied for a Thai Police Clearance certificate from the UK?

I need to apply for one and wanted to confirm if the application is sent to Royal Thai Police in Bangkok and what kind of turnaround would I be looking at?

I didn't go anywhere near the re-entry desk as I didn't need a re-entry permit. Everything was done at the departure desk and for some reason the IO didn't give me an exit stamp.

Yes. I had all the stamps transferred and only showed my new passport at immigration.

Definitely no stamp. Would it be anything to do with the entry stamp being in another passport? I renewed my passport after arriving in Thailand.

I flew out of Suvarnabhumi in March and after boarding the plane I noticed that I didn't have a departure stamp in my passport.

I had a marriage extension at the time and the IO told me that I would need a re-entry permit. I told the IO that this wasn't required as the extension would be expired by the time I return. I think the IO forgot to give me an exit stamp as he thought I would be applying for a re-entry permit.

Will this give me any problem when I return to Thailand?

Does anyone know if a flight booking is required for a UK visit visa application interview?

Any re-entry permit will expire on the same date as your current permission to stay. i.e. in June. It cannot be "rolled over". So best to get a single.

I have a marriage extension on a Non O visa which expires in June. I will be leaving Thailand on Monday and possibly coming back in May. If I apply for a multiple re entry permit at Suvarnabhumi can this roll over to my next marriage extension or is it only valid for the current one that expires in June?

My wife was pulled up at Udon Immigration a few months ago regarding the reporting. Even though I hadn't left the country the last report for me was from a hotel in Kanchanaburi that we had stayed in. The IO used this as an excuse to threaten my wife with a fine for not reporting me but let her off with a warning. She told us if it happens again, she will fine us.

The last time I went to Udon immigration one of the IO's asked my wife if she had filled out a TM30. She hadn't and the IO said it was no problem this time but in future we might be fined if it hadn't been done. The IO also said that between the 19th and 26th of every month, there is no leeway and anyone who hasn't filled out the TM30 will be fined. 

I now have a Yellow House book but was wondering if Alien Reporting was till required i.e. does my wife still have to report that I'm living here or is it covered by the Yellow book?

I'm in the process of applying for the yellow book. We were originally told by an official at City Hall that they would need a British Consul approved copy of my passport and also translated and approved by the MFA. Before doing this I asked my wife to check with City Hall again and now they only require a translated copy of my passport and birth certificate which can be done locally. I have to go to City Hall next week so hopefully they haven't changed their minds again!!!

I did this a few months ago and used an agency near the bridge in Nong Khai. They had all the forms/cards to fill out and took me across and back in a Minibus. The whole affair took just over 1/2 hour

The best thing to do is to ask the Ampur for an address of a translator - They usually have friends and will be glad to help. I had mine done at an office in Chiang Mai, private company, (Business card provided by the Ampur) they did it in an hour and there was no need for the MFA stamp or anything like that.

Every Amphur has different rules for the yellow book. My wife and I have already talked to the head 'goncho' and he advised us that the certified passport copy from the British Embassy and, translated and MFA certified is the requirement.

So if you also have a Thai wife, please take care to ensure that the translator spells your surname in exactly the same way as it appears in your wife's personal official docs!

I will be in Bangkok for 2 nights but will leave early on the last morning. EMS will probably be my best option and not have to worry about hanging around.
