  1. Best practice facility by far is Plantation GC, near Siam CC.

Harold is the Falang we were all warned about, real talker. Hope who ever funded this new business has eyes in the back of their head....

I know people personally he scammed out of a few mil baht when they were nice enough to loan him money to get his golf business going.

They have chased him around for years, still not an end to it. Lawyers are pretty much worthless allot of times.

Some Caddy friends say Harold has a hard time breaking 90 without cheating at Siam old course.

Wow another venture with Harold involved, Pattaya must be hard up, has to be a beer bar or something sleazy. Wonder if he will pay back several of the people he has scammed over last 20+ years. Someone who put up the funds must have been ignorant to Harold’s past, if the same Harold, hope they have eyes in the back of their head, they will need it.

I know Phoenix C.C. invited him not to return to their business, something about he was using their Directors names in association with his fake golf club business among other things.

One of my first encounters with Wiseman was in mid 90’s he came into a bar where some of us just returned from playing golf, he was telling us he was friends of King or Queen’s maid and was taking care of some of her shrimp farms. He was looking for investors, he was going to start doing his own.

One of the guys knew something about it; ask him a few questions and that was that. After Harold left the bar, the guy rang the bell and bought us drinks, said that was the funniest fairy tale he had heard in years.

Ran into him again in the late 90’s, said he had a motorbike accident, two black eyes and bruised face, didn’t see any other scratches or marks. One of the guys that knew him well said must be one of his scams did not work out to good.

Last time I seen him in early 2000’s I was waiting for a friend to come down and join me for a tea, here comes Harold through the hotel lobby, black eyes and bruises again. I told my friend about it, he said joke of the golf courses, stay away a real scammer, few levels below trailer trash.

Buying a house over there some years back the lawyer had some clients that had been chasing Wiseman for years to get money they loaned him, after 5 years they were still chasing and setting up court stuff which I guess takes a long time. Seen some legal docs on the Conant & Wiseman stuff then also, they were working on getting that to court too. What a low life, get someone to help fund their business then they steal from them. If you are within a mile of em keep your hands on your wallet, I would avoid anyone that even associates with the likes.

I have not been around Thailand much in the last 10 years so probably missed allot since. Guess the place attracts good, bad and less than trailer trash still. Too bad some of them last longer than they should and stink up the place for the rest.

  2. For anybody deliberately to set out in search of marriage having just divorced seems to be a triumph of hope over experience.

Thai immigration rules do not stipulate an intention to get married as a condition of entry to the country.

The OP could just come here, if he likes the place, and take it as it comes

I didn't say that I was looking for marriage!! It was a reconnaissance trip to check out possible locations to live and also Thai women, their attitudes and expectations.

As with all investments they should be chosen cautiously, they can be costly!

  3. How does the OP live in Thailand with such feelings.

Farangs should go to Thailand and have their companion give them money to send back to their family in their country.

If they get work they should send that back home while their thai partner takes care of most of the expenses.

This is how the thais operate if they go to their companions country. It is all one sided for thais in most of the relationships with foreigners. Their laws are even set up to facilitate this behaviour for the most part.

How many thais go to live in foreign countries with their partner and are expected to take care of support their partners

families? Do you consider them dead beats if they don't help in monetary ways or don't bring gobbs of cash with them to hand out. Thais do for their own first and have no interest in doing for their partners families well being.

It is a one sided deal with thais and foreigners almost all of the time.

How can you live in such society that you despies so much.

  4. How long will the wife live if you do move and it causes you to live the rest of your life with far less money.

If the wife is not around will you even want to stay supporting her relatives, which in most cases would happen

if you stuck around. You have to have a life after as she would if it was you passing on first.

Let her be cared for by family and receive your tokens of finance, $1400 is no where near a good life for any where

close to western style living and if you want to return back home to live part of the time you'll be in the dumps.

Try 59 for retirement and let your pension get a few more years of earnings for the higher pay. Take an extended

leave of absence from work for illness, maybe 3 months, seems most companies would allow this or set it up

with 2 each 6 week vacations a year for tending to wives condition if they will let you do it. Waiting till

65 to get the full rate of social security should also be considerd, sounds like your pension could be enough

to live well on for the years fom 62 to 65.

If your wife is that ill you need to think of the life after for yourself, Khon Kean may very well not be suitable for you on your own.

All the best to your wife and hope she recovers from here sickness.

  5. For 3 million BAHT I could do these stories all day long, could I please get your fiends contact info.

I'll just use Mia Noi for my new name, he may like it, kind of being sexy and all. He is a police man you say, must

of heard plenty of hardship stories in his life time so I better polish up on the bull for this one.

  6. Seems simple to what is first or third world.

1st world would be wages for common work are in the top tier of the worlds population and it's countries general population

has access to these earnings quite readily ( if you are not a lazy deadbeat that is). Infastructure is well established

and safety codes ( food, building and sanitation are not just a thought and are planned and well regulated).

Third world would be where the general population has little chance to achieve a decent wage, the elderly have little

support from public programs and live meek life's. Lacking of proper infastructure, safety codes enforcement and government

positions are not used for ones personal and private gain by the majority of it's employes

. Thailand fits well in this catagory!

1st world: you would be in this country to earn your living.

3rd world is where you would most likely bring money in to live on because earning it there would be difficult by most.

  7. ( QUOTE )

Yet how many cheap US expats are also walking the fine edge of really being legal? Whether the BS income declaration at the embassy hoping there is no checks or the in & out border runs to stay current on visa without the bank account for the legal longer retirement stays.

Funny to think that if Thailand increased border security in order to qualify for the Visa waiver program many ex-pats probably would not be able to stay via the iffy methods.

So to that end I do not see it all that different or would claim all US immigrants to Thailand are quality immigrants. Anymore than to say Thais are anymore likely to become illegal immigrants.

So yeah....Thailand grow some & if the US wants to make it so hard for your citizens to visit then pull the same on their citizens. I am betting quite a few US congressmen would get calls.....probably not enough quality calls but still calls :D

The fact that Thailand don't have 20 million illeagal westerners living in Thailand mainly for getting work speaks allot, The U.S. does and

many western countries have this problem due to wage despareties. Thailand lets few if any foreigners to become citizens of Thailand or own

property, Western countries do. The U.S. and other western countries do not require the foreigner to have 7 times the average annual wage to stay

long term in their country like Thailand does. Western countries do not restrict 98% of working positions from foreigners or require businesses to

be 51% owned by locals,,,,, on and on and on. Thailand provides no benefits or pensions to foreigners married to locals, western countries do.

  8. These type of investments are nothing but a salesmens dream. This is what alot of the Thailand and other

    expat advisors push.

Never have investments tied to your insurance. neither are good enough to stand on their own and two losers together make it no better. Stay away from firms that sell such products, they have no interest in other

than commisions off what ever means available, mostly poor investments.

  9. Look for some long/short funds that can adjust % of both at any time it deems appropriate, not the set amount of each! Alot of funds of funds that have several levels of managers that get a % before you will make a baht so be careful.

Passport Capital had a stellar year in 2007 (+200%) mainly leveraged short the subslime sector and done well in India also.

  10. Guess to late to of worked things out with your boyfriend before the death. Why was that not done unless sudden

death. You do not indicate this and for sure your partner would of known what his family would do in this situation, if it was a forseen circumstances. He must of intended for his family to take up his interest in the said property.

Excuse me if he is not correct as I see no place it is mentioned other than partner is mentioned!

  11. I would say the Isarn left are migrated in areas where money is easier to get ie; tourist areas Pattaya and the likes.

The ones that stay in Isaan are probably more right wing where you earn it and do not think yourself smarter

than everyone else and it should be handed out through taking it for some reason thought up of or

a person just has a need for it.

    http://www.smartmoney.com/tradecraft/index...imulate-economy

THERE'S BEEN A groundswell of cross-party teamwork supporting the $168 billion stimulus package, with an unusually cooperative President Bush eager to work with Congress to quickly iron out a plan. The president called it "an example of bipartisan cooperation at a time when the American people most expect it."

Of course, bipartisanship unto itself is not an inherent good. Bad legislation doesn't get any better simply because it's supported by both political parties. The accomplishment now claimed by both Democrats and Republicans is that of two thieves congratulating their own cleverness as they clean out your safe deposit box.

Indeed, the much-heralded stimulus plan is a charade, designed not to boost the economy but the dismal favorability ratings of both the president and Congress. Based on bad economics and immoral philosophy, it will inevitably prolong the economic malaise its backers hope to avert.

At its heart, the stimulus package is a redistribution of wealth, taking money from those who've earned it and giving it to those who haven't on a massive scale that would make Robin Hood blush. Starting this spring, just a few months before November's presidential election, more than 130 million households will start receiving checks. The rebates of up to $600 for individual taxpayers ($1,200 for couples) would phase out for those with incomes above $75,000 ($150,000 for couples), meaning that those who pay the most taxes get the smallest rebates and the wealthiest taxpayers receive nothing at all.

Bizarrely, the bill gives tax rebates to millions of people who don't pay income tax, a group including low-income seniors living on Social Security and military veterans on disability. Most people will also receive a $300 check for each dependent child.

"We believe the stimulus, the way it is targeted, will put money into the hands of those who will spend it immediately, injecting demand into the economy and therefore creating jobs," said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.).

Pelosi's estimate and her economics, however, are deeply flawed. First off, an Associated Press-Ipsos poll found that only 19% of those surveyed said they planned to spend their rebate checks. Rather, the majority planned to pay off bills, meaning that the tremendous demand expected to be created by encouraging citizens to spend money they haven't earned won't likely materialize at all.

Moreover, Pelosi fails to acknowledge that wealth isn't built by stimulating consumption, but by incentivizing production. After all, it's the producers, not the consumers, who power the economy. Wealth isn't created by those who consume, but those who produce, a process that requires long-range planning and a profit motive, neither of which the stimulus does anything to address.

  12. In case nobody has noticed it, foolishness and gullibility are exclusive to old, fat, bald men.

I've seen many sad cases of young, slim, hirsute men going off their trolley over a woman, both here and in Thailand.

    Your Nuts!

    need trousers

  13. They only have I believe 9 hole couse on the army base. Cost is something like 200 baht to play it twice

to complete the 18 holes, not sure the tip for caddy 100 baht seems right! Was a group of guys that use to meet up a few times a week and maybe they will chime in. Don't know if they had a cheaper monthly rate or what but it would almost have to be free if so.....

  14. Brigsby

    Where are you lost.

There should of been statements immediately at the crime scene. Uthai only had one beer, shouldn't of he

secured the crime scene and given a statement at that time. I would assume the crime scene was known before

the next day when he decide to come in and give testimony. Anyone that was a witness there should of been immediate statements given to the accounts of what happened.

How do you turn "they" into someone trailing Carly.....
