  1. hi its the old one on the third road on the right hand side going towards jomtien.( the newer gym/hotel is opposite on the left.)

just go in to reception and they will tell you where to go in very broken english!. its basically in the far building upstairs. people warming up from 7.15pm it was even buser tonight so get there early.. i hope it becomes more regular and it will if more people turn up. i wouldnt bother ringing the gym unless your thai is up to scratch. see you friday!

  2. this is just to give anyone interested in yoga the heads up that it started again tonight at 7.30 pm for an hour with a teacher named ohm. who is very good btw.

its 3 times a week at that time on mondays, wednesdays and fridays.

the reason for the heads up is that apparently for whatever reason tony has said he will not pay the teacher if there is a low attendance.. i cant get my head around this as all attending are members and so it shouldnt matter if there are 2 people or 20 people there.. but anyway this is the story.

also it says on the door yoga is available to non member for a hundred baht...

thats about it then.. bring a towel and a drink.

lets not go down the tonys pros and cons route. or anything like that its just a heads up. cheers.

  3. hi, i want to sell my mitsubishi triton plus 2.5 diesel turbo.

i bought it in bangkok in june 2007. its as new from the showroom, no modifications, just had them put one of those hard covers on the back (top up) electric. this is good for fuel economy and stops it being used as a dustbin! (looks cool also)

so its in black, is a diesel auto, its got the dvd built in, stereo and all the usual stuff.

its only done 13,000 kms never been smoked drunk or eaten in!

this motor looks the same it did when i bought it. even has that new car smell still!

i want to sell because last year i was only here for 6 months of the year and this year will be less so i cant justify keeping it.

the car is kept under cover and lives in the underground carpark at my condo. pattaya.

its insured and taxed till june/july this year and will go to the first person to give me 550,000 baht.

if it doesnt sell she will be rented out through my friend whilst am back in england and used when am here again.

ive already had 2 people waste my time saying they will have it but as yet no money! these are just words so please dont waste your or my time :o . thanks.

  4. My concerns

    1) Is she setting me up as future sponsor

    2) Will she leave once another 'better' offer comes along

    3) Does she have more sponsors that i dun know about

She says that in a year's time she would stop as she would have complete her financial commitments and gotten everything she wants (house, car etc) and saved enough for a small business (to open a restaurant in her province). Should i believe her?

    answers; 1) YES

    2) YES

    3)YES

  5. Not that long ago I stood in the immigration there, the signs said Aliens.

Fair point, but everyday usage on the street and the press, the word aliens is usually applied to illegals. There is no way a waiter greeting a French tourist in a restaurant would call him an alien, to his face or friends. He would say French tourist or foreigner.

    True.

But I have never heard about a Thai saying "hello farang, how are you"?

What would the farang like to eat?

    Is the farang thirsty?

    :o

ive heard the last 2 lines before. you can hear it in bars restaurants all over the place. but not the hello farang, how are you?

  6. i heard its the quiet ones you want to worry about!

i dont worry about the i ams. theres one right now outside 7 sipin on a chang givin it the i am... but he isnt.

nor am i but then i dont go givin it the big un, like the segull lover.

  7. Has anyone stayed there recently or got any idea what the cost per night/week for a standard room is please? I looked at the website but couldn't see anything just the rooms.

Wondered if they had any "specials" on?

    Thanks

790 per night, or 13900 per month. plus bills. not sure if they do weekly.

  8. Can you have a black or Asian ferang? if yes then there is nothing wrong with being called a ferang it simply means foreigner.

    wrong.

    ชาวต่างประเทศ means foriegner.

    ฝรั่ง means caucasian.

    simple really.

read any thai script documents /signs in a bank, immigration laws, police notices, pricing signs at national parks, airport etc.., and you'll only see the term ชาวต่างประเทศ used.

so it would seem that farang is a dirrogetry term here in thailand for white/caucasian people.

in that case i think that only whites/caucasian should be able to use the word farang when speaking to each other or about each other.

rather like back at home (england) where some of the minorty races call each other things like nigger and paki. but should a white/caucasian use these names all hel_l would break loose!

so from now on only us whitetys, honkeys can call ourselves farang. ok?!!!!

  9. if the guy is n't after a profit but wants to cover costs,as a business person he will have to work out how many patrons he needs at what price to cover those costs.he should work on same price for all, lowest fee possible.for example at 100baht per person per lesson, how many patrons would he need.start from there.i go to a gym,its 100 baht for all, thai, farang etc.

i agree with samuibeachcomber. it ist rocket science is it...

  10. you should go to the place on soookhumvit road eastbound. think its between mc donalds and the north junction. before you get to pattaya .

If Carlsberg did directions, they would probably be the worst directions ever..

yeah sorry i couldnt be more accurate old bean, its been a while since ive been down there, and what with you driving past it every day, twice, i am not surprised your struggling to pin point it. DH. :o

  11. i seen em loads of times... the exploited ones and ramones ones also!

i also wondered where they came from? is there an old punk somewhere printing these things?( sniggering at the young uns wearing offensive t's!)

the ones ive seen for sale are all small sizes.

ive even seen "watty" and his missus in samui before when i lived there.

the exploited, dead kennedys and ramones etc were great bands that get hammered to death still on my i tunes... thats another thread tho!

  12. you should go to the place on soookhumvit road eastbound. think its between mc donalds and the north junction. before you get to pattaya .

it called "boy air and sound"

you got jbl jbl and more jbl here in thailand, oh and maybe yamaha.

  13. Try the Scooter bar on the main road by the Mcdonals sign. A few girls but they dont hassle you and Jerry's an ex Essex boy Mod so lots of good music (The Who etc) and open 2pm - 2am or longer. Lots of regulars go in for a beer or two

Not so good since he finished with Som a few years back :D

I thought her name was May, big Lass who used to have a Bar opposite Rolling Stone who got it bought for her by a Norweigen Friend of mine who was unfortunately, always drunk & paid the price ??

It is May and he was still with her in November.

just so your all straight... jerry had a girl friend named som until a few years ago. he has since been with may...and still is. hes not there as much as he used to be.. think hes on a health kick or something. :o

  14. i think it was a great deal. i was quoted 13,000 at pattaya inter.

the point i was trying to make was that there has been loads of threads about this.

people say this is good, there is good, i am happy with so and so place. but no real detail.

i wanted to give a detailed summary of my experience.

anyway the ribs sound a great test! not for breakfast tho.....

  15. hi every one

a few months ago i went to a dentist for an xray and checkup as it had been a while.

they told me that i needed a new crown as mine had slipped or something.

although i was happy with their service of xray cleaning etc i didnt feel completely confident, and sought a second opinion.

now finding a suitable dentist in pattaya is quite a task, as there are hundreds of clinics, and the hospitals of course.

i was thinking hospitals but witch one? plus i hate the fact you get charged the nurses fee. when by all accounts your blood preasure is fine and they weigh you for what?

so then its the clinics. but what about if they tell me i need something doing when it doesnt really need it. or what about the pricing? will they charge the same to everyone or judge me by what i am wearing, or if its been a quiet day?

i decided to look back through thai visa history and there is loads of threads on this sort of stuff.

everbody, it seams has a different suggestion and different experience at these places. however there was an american guy who mentioned the "german clinic" on thappaya road soi 9. the fact his work is guaranteed for 5 years sounded good enough for me.

were talking a german guarantee here not the thai one one you hear so often!

now i know a new crown is not that bigger deal, but you still dont want any old tom dick or harry doing it for you do you? i wants to be right first time, pain free and as quickly as possible, not to mention the right colour, size shape etc.

anyway to get to the point... i went here "inter dental clinic" thappaya road soi 9.

    brilliant from start to finish!

day one; confirmed i needed the new crown. michael the boss then explained in full detail the procedure and quallities gave me 3 options; chromium-cheapest, 50 percent gold platinum- mid range, and the 85 percent gold platinum-top price.

after his advise i went mid range. he said would start next day and would take 3 visits. (3 days)

day 1; take off old crown and clean up and take moulds. fit temporary crown. 45 mins.

day 2; size up the new crown and check colour. 15mins.

    day 3; fit. 15 mins.

i am well happy with it, it looks much better than the old crown. feels great. no pain!

his clinic is nice inside, all the gear, all his dentists it would seem are excellent aswell as himself of course. i felt really comfortable and well informed. i like the fact his lab is upstars at the clinic, and all sorted in one place.

i cant judge on what the dentists look like as they were "masked up" but the lady on the upstairs desk is mighty fine. i think it may well be michaels wife, so no fancy ideas boys!

anways whatever you need dental wise.... this is the place!

    have a nice day.
