    Back again.

The boring part is that this fading and whitening of the pool due to calcium reacting with the gel coating is endemic.

And I am led to believe by the Manufacturer that fiberglass pools all over the world are turning white wherever the supply water is hard.

I was informed of this after the installation, of course.

Only real cure is eliminate the calcium at point of entry.

But when I bought the pool no mention was made of this problem; not by the manufacturer, or the installer, not even on any of the Blog sites like this.

I was told that fiberglass pools are the bees knees, no problems.

I just want other guys to be aware of this problem .... if you are tossing up about installing a fiberglass pool or a concrete pool in Thailand, then check the quality of your water first. If it is hard, and you are dead set on fiberglass, then install an ionizer as well to soften the water.

If your not keen on the added maintenance costs and extra time and devotion to pool upkeep, then go a saltwater concrete pool.

You'll be a happier little Vegemite, believe me.

Yes a properly built concrete overflow swimming pool with PebbleCrete and a salt Chlorinator is the most trouble free easiest maintenance Swimming pool there is.

  2. You cap off each run of pipes on both ends by gluing in PVC ( We use epoxy as it is easier chip apart and take apart when we are done ) and put schrader valve on one end and a 15 # pressure gage on the other end and then pressurise it with a bicycle pump for 4 or 5 days and see if the pressure remains the same.

Also after your fitting are installed on both ends and you have pressurised the pipe take a cup of water and put dish soap in and stir it around then take a paper towel and wet it and wipe it around your glued in fitting looking for tiny bubbles . If you see bubbles go back to #1 and start over

  3. By reducing the flow is counter productive to filtering and Chlorinator ( If you have a salt system ) Plus you are wasting power and plus reducing the life of the pump ( Unless it is 3 phase which I am guessing it is not ).

Go to home pro and buy Rain gutter and install it inside the tank using brackets made at the stainless shop. We use 2 down spouts and run the pipes all the way down into the normal water level and drill holes all up and down the length of pipes

We have done this several times but I dont have any pictures or I would sent it to you
