I know there are folks that prefer Thai exchanges for whatever reason, but if it's simply that you have Baht that you want to convert to crypto (probably easiest to BTC first), an easy path is:

    1. P2P (localbitcoins, paxful, binance p2p, etc.).... bank transfer to whatever seller, then you have BTC either in your P2P wallet or better yet, non-exchange non custodial Electrum, Coinomi, etc. wallet.

    2. Transfer said BTC to Binance (largest exchange in the world, super liquid; the account setup takes about 10 minutes; you can do it on your phone by installing their app).   Trade or hodl to your heart's content.

Done.   Do the reverse for when you want to cash out.

Main reason for some is to convert crypto to THB. At Localbitcoins and Paxful you get a very bad rate and low limits, Binance P2P can't convert to THB as far as I now.

    Anybody tried Upbit?

  2. Thank you guys for the feedback. My friend does have copies of every documents, including backup copies at her lawyer's office in Bangkok. Her doubt is, if she enter Thailand again with a 30 days visa exemption, would she be able to recover her previous extension of stay at the Immigration Department, or she needs to obtain a proper visa prior to entering the Kingdom?

  3. A visa is lost and cannot be replaced.

If your friend had an extension of stay there is a possibility of immigration restoring that.

She needs to obtain a new passport or emergency travel document from her Embassy. She will most likely need a Police report detaling the loss.

Thank you expatbrit. Yes, sorry, she had an extension of stay, not visa. She had already reported to the police and will wait for the new passport to be issued. The question is what steps she needs to follow before or when entering Thailand in order to maintain her status.

  4. Thanx for the feedback guys. I already Goggled it, and only found a couple of Japanese franchises which are quite expensive for this kind of stuff and Sunbelt doesn't bother with the small fish.

WhizBang - I don't eat this neither, but Thais and Asian people in general seem to love it.

marcusd - I'm not in Bangkok at the moment, but will contact them when I come back for sure. I don't know anything about crepes and don't know anyone who knows, so, for me, the logical move it's to pay someone for the know-how.

Kida disagree, the logical move would be to not go into a business you know nothing about, surely........

Well, you may have a point here, but myself I have invested in other businesses, one of them food related, with success, and I don't need to know how to make a good coffee (which I don't drink), I just hired a person who does.

  6. Not really a "Russian restaurant" but has a few Russian dishes, borsh, pelmeni, salat olivie, mors, herrings...The Red Pinn, in Bangrak - http://www.redpinn.com/ . From the website "International selection of soups, stews, steaks, fry-ups and other main courses as well as Tapas - from the original Spanish Tapas to small dishes from different parts of the world with a glimpse of North European touch - Marinated Herring, Cured and Smoked Salmon, Meatballs..." The food in general is good and the owner speaks Russian

  7. One option to earn some money are the movie extra and actor jobs. Here you can find a list of a few modelling agencies, you can visit or contact them to get your details and pictures taken (normally is free). Once you get to the first movie or commercial you meet a lot of people and agents. This helped me a lot at the beginning. Just be friendly and search for contacts. Per instance, this agency has a page on Facebook with frequent jobs. Good luck

  8. What about re-entry permits? Do we have to go INTO the flood zone just to get a piece of paper that allows us to EVACUATE? :ermm:

You can get your re-entry permit at the airport, in case you are flying.

They haven't issued re-entries at the airport since last year. Am i mistaken? That service was closed at the airport long ago.

    From the Thai Immigration Bureau

You could apply a re-entry permit at every checkpoint. However at Suvarnabhumi Airport Checkpoint would provide this service if necessary depend on officers approval.

    — For a re-entry permit,if you are in Bangkok area and you have an Internet access, you could fill in a TM. 8 form and send it to [email protected]

    — You should e-mail the completed form 1 day in advance.

    — You have to submit a 2" photo and pay a permit fee at counter 7, the Immigration Bureau (soi suanplu office.)

    — Fee for re-entry permit:

    1,000 Bahts for single

    3,800 Bahts for multiple

Can't tell how accurate is this for today, but a couple of months ago the desk and the sign for the re-entry permit were still there at the airport, and I saw some farangs filling forms, so I suposed was still working.
