Hello. You'll be given 7 days to stay in Thailand upon surrendering your WP. Within those 7 days, your new employer from Bangkok should be able to provide you a new WP so you can apply for a 3-month visa. Based on my sister's experience, before surrendering her old WP, she made sure that she would be issued a new WP within the 7 days.

Dear Sunbelt,
Thank you for this info. I have my last questions.
Would I have a problem in the Ministry of Labour (Dindaeng Office) if on June 1, I dont pick up this 3-month WP & then, apply for a new WP again (under the assistance of the school that gave me a better job offer) ?
Should I not inform the MOL of my cancellation for WP application before June 1?

Today, I have received my 3-month Non-B visa after my 1st Non-B visa for 2 years expired last March 2007. My new school has been learning the ropes on how to get a new Non-B visa so it took me 3 months to get it since they hired me. I had to do 2 Cambodian exits for 2 entry stamps and 1 exit to Penang to get a 60-day tourist visa. Plus 6 visits to the Immigration in Suan Plu to apply the Non-B there instead of getting it in Penang again. Finally, my tourist visa has been changed to Non-B today. Then, we went to the Misnistry of labour to apply (100 baht application fee) for a new work permit which I will get on June 1.
My problem is this....I got a better employment offer from another school just yesterday and they will assist me on my WP also for they know that I still dont have a WP. Now, I am planning not to pursue this work permit anymore from my current school and quit the job. I dont want to pick up the 3-month WP at the Misnistry of Labour & pay 750 baht; then, afterwards, tell them I wont work for them anymore. Because I know, if I have the newly issued WP cancelled, my non-B will be affected too, right?
What should be done in cancelling my application for the 3-month WP before it will be issued to me on June 1? Can anyone give me some suggestions , pls?
Thanks.

Hello,I will go to Penang to apply for a non_B visa and I'm helping the university HR about the WP3. What are the requirements for applying a WP3 for a university teacher? I've been calling the Department of Employment but the lines are always busy. I've checked http://www.geocities.com/workpermit_go_thai/listdocument.html
but it's not clearly indicated there if the Letter of Employment Form and the Form for Certifying Educational Qualification are requirements to apply for a WP 3.
Are these forms for WP2 application only or both for WP2 & WP3.
Can anybody help me on this, please?
Thanks.

Has anyone been to Penang or KL lately? I am planning to go to Penang or KL in May to apply for my Non-B as a teacher. I have learned from other posts that WP3 is a requirement in Penang.
1) What about in KL? Is WP3 a requirement too?
2) How long does it take to apply for the WP3 at the Alien Control Division of Ministry of Labour?

Last March, i was able to exit & enter Thailand without hassle. But this April, to my surprise, they have the new regulation regarding the onward/return ticket. I also bought a BKK-Penang Air Asia e-ticket and got another 30 days until May 12. This May, it would be my 3rd time to go to the Aranyaprathet-Poipet border.
Can I still move the date of the e-ticket and use it again for exit OR do I really have to fly out to Penang and get a 60-tourist visa at the Thai embassy in Penang?

Hello. I have a one year Non-Immigrant B visa and WP and I'd like to invite my parents to stay here in Thailand for a couple of months.
Can I apply for a Non-O?
What are the requirements if I want them to stay for more than 60-days?
Thanks in advance.
