  1. I just got back from Aranyaprathet/poipet Cambodia border for a 30-day stamp before my work permit and non-immigrant B visa expire today. A note was given to the foreigners saying "The aliens entering kingdom with no visa must present ticket or travel documents that have been paid already or confirmed to exit the kingdom and must not exceed 30 days upon the date of entrance to the kingdom."  I was told that the new requirement has been for a month already.  I was told by an officer that I needed to produce such document/ticket, and said that there was an agent who came to help everyone solve this pr

blem.  I couldn't wait after 15 minutes, so the officer pointed me "Sumnang Travel Service" next to Star Grill.  I went straight ahead to that agency and I saw people

waiting in line to buy tickets.  An Australian guy negotiated that the show-off ticket would be one way to Malaysia for about 3,000 Baht plus.  Eveyone was promised that the said ticket to Malaysia postdated July 25,

007 wouldn't give some problems and that it could be used twice the next time you come

or a visa run to Cambodia.  I was actually charged 3,900 Baht. But when I went to the Thai immigration counter, a woman officer told me that it's not possible to use a postdated ticket beyond 30 days of entrance to Cambodia.  So I went back to Sumnang Travel Service to date of the ticket changed to May 27, 2007.  The agents made some kind of acting and said that it was very hard to do that.  One of them called the Airasia office, I presumed, and explained to me that it's possible on condition that I pay 1,000 Baht more.  I was almost furious, but thinking that it might not help solve the problem, I kept myself and showed them that it's a big headache to me.  I was running out of time so I added 1,000 Baht, to make it 4,900 Baht all.  After that, it was sure through the Thai immigration officers in the departure area, and the Thai immigration officers at the arrival counter also asked the same ticket.

My advice to those visa runners to Cambodia:

    1.  Buy ticket online in advance with the nearest route, that is BKK--Kuala Lumpur (one way only), for about 800-1,800 Baht only from Airasia.  An html printed copy of the purchased ticket will do.

    2.  The departure date of the ticket must not exceed 30 days from the entrance to the kingdom.

    3.  Beware of travel agencies who extort money in any form, with no assurance.
